I’m just a beginner at guitar playing. And you know, there are so many talented people in the world who are using the talent that God gave for themselves. And I’m thankful that you do this for Jesus! And it gives me hope that some day I’m gonna play these songs for Jesus! Be blessed!
You'll get there. I'm 40 years old and been playing since 14. The worst mistake you can make is to get frustrated and put the guitar down or put it down for any reason. Stick with it. If your fingers hurt, take a break. Even for a day or 2 to let them callous up some. But just don't put it down to "take a break". I promise you'll regret it no matter how good or bad you think you might be. Hang in there bud. Just do it for His glory and the rest don't matter 😁✝️
You are already blessed by Jesus, You have a hidden talent, but at the right time the Lord will show you that don't worry. Yes playing songs for Jesus is fun, but singing is also fun, the point is to Praise the Lord!! Jesus loves You!
@@McConaughey_83 right!! whatever you do do it for the glory of Him! when I started I did get hurt in fingers but the joy of the instrument and the praise of God gets us up every time!!
Brother, even in the dark of your room, with messed up chords, missed notes and a bad voice, you can be playing this song for Jesus. Never forget that personal relationship
Thanks for this tutorial very helpful... just wanted to add this comment... This lesson finger pattern (change 6 to 5 for root 5): Root on 6 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 5 & 6 & 6 3 6 2 6 3 6 3 6 2 6 3 Or think just repeat this twice: 1 & 2 & 3 & 6 3 6 2 6 3 Another option I saw for this song was (change 6 to 5 for root 5): Root on 6 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 5 & 6 & 6 3 4 2 4 3 6 3 4 2 4 3 Or think just repeat this twice: 1 & 2 & 3 & 6 3 4 2 4 3 When playing above seems best focus a lot on the root and the and of 2 with other notes softer. Praise on!
Ditto, to many of These Comments. Thank you dear Musically Gifted by God, brother in Christ, for this awesome instruction-- AND especially thank you to the Exceptionally God Gifted & Heavily beloved by so many people, Musical brother from another mother & servant of Christ known as Brandon Lake - - But most of ALL, we give ALL Praise, GLORY, Honour and "Gratitude' to Our Great Triune God, for a modern Psalm so worthy of Your Ears, O LORD ❣️ 🙏🏾🙏🏻🙏🏽🙏🏿🙏🏼☝🏾🙌🏽🤠💗
I dont even have a guitar... Had to sell it years ago, but this was so much fun to watch!!! Can't wait to have another guitar and return to learn this. I absolutely love this song and the way you break down all the parts! God bless you!
Hi thank you so much for this video and your other lesson on this song. We go to The Father's House in Vacaville California. They sing it often. Now I can play it and sing it thanks to you. I have a Taylor 526CE one of 100 made. It's awesome. Love your black top also.
The picking part is kind of fast if you're attempting to do a tutorial for beginners. It's hard to tell after your thumb which strings you're picking. But appreciate you even putting this out there thanks so much
I’ve learned several songs from you and kudos to you for your great efforts and lessons. Having said that, are you related to John C. Riley? Serious question.
Thank you for your tutorial however I'm a beginner and I was hoping to have you break down that finger picking a little more. You went kind of fast.. but thank you!
Not with the finger picking. When finger picking, you don't necessarily end up picking all the strings that are being held down. Now, when strumming, holding down for Em does help give the accurate sound. I had to work through that myself as I was also confused. I've only got my guitar a week ago but already learned how to play this as my first ever song on guitar. It's so exciting!
Hi ,i am jones from haiti .i simply watch all of the contents from your chanel .i learn alot from them ,and i think you for all .i would like to ask for your help :" would you offer me a guitar like yours?" I LIKE to play guitar but mine is broken .I konw it's difficult but as love you i do not have any shame to ask you.
Hi I appreciate this tutorial. I have the finger picking down I believe but the chords that go with it idk. What does it mean when you say “the thumb always plays the root chord” what does root chord mean there?
It's the root note of the chord. So if you're playing a G chord, the root note of that chord would be the G. That G that you're playing is on the low E string. Generally your root notes are the lowest notes in the chord and so you just play the lowest note of the chord with your thumb (usually on E or A strings). I hope this helps 😊
Hey Michael. I don’t have a D28, ha. I have a D-35, but it’s 20+ years old at this point (from ‘03). Also this Taylor is a lot closer in construction to a Gibson than a Martin. It’s more of a slope shoulder dreadnaught style, kind of like a J45. It reminds me more of that tonally than a Martin as well.

That’s all that matters, focus on Jesus and He with strengthen your gift.

This lesson was done perfectly. Thanks for helping an average player learn it.
Thank you for all you do for Christ Jesus!
Thanks for this tutorial very helpful... just wanted to add this comment...
This lesson finger pattern (change 6 to 5 for root 5):
Root on 6
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 5 & 6 &
6 3 6 2 6 3 6 3 6 2 6 3
Or think just repeat this twice:
1 & 2 & 3 &
6 3 6 2 6 3
Another option I saw for this song was (change 6 to 5 for root 5):
Root on 6
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 5 & 6 &
6 3 4 2 4 3 6 3 4 2 4 3
Or think just repeat this twice:
1 & 2 & 3 &
6 3 4 2 4 3
When playing above seems best focus a lot on the root and the and of 2 with other notes softer.
Praise on!

Thank you for your tutorial however I'm a beginner and I was hoping to have you break down that finger picking a little more. You went kind of fast.. but thank you!
Excellent ❤👏👏👏👏
Can't I ask if you could to a tutorial (acoustic) on never lost a battle
Am i mistaken that when you are doing intro and you go from g to em none of the em strings are actually being played?
Not with the finger picking. When finger picking, you don't necessarily end up picking all the strings that are being held down. Would you share the make & model of the guitar that you are using here? Thank you.
Sure it’s a Taylor AD17e
Can someone pls tell me how many times to play the plucking for each chord in the intro and verse
Would you share the brand & model of your guitar?
It’s in the recording of him actually playing and singing
I wedge the pick in my pinky joint!

Greetings from SD. Do i just get this from praise charts for your version of the song sheet or do you have your own on here?
Thanks for the education. I am getting bored of the three chords I know. 🤪
Asking for you to compare this Taylor to
A New Martin D35
Please give feedback
Or compare to your Martin D28

Is that a Taylor AD17?

Subbed. God bless
Why does my Em sound different?
what key is this? is it in G?
