Oh my gosh! Goma, Goma, Goma! I last visited Goma 🇨🇩 in August 1994 and by then the country was called ZAÏRE. Goma was already in turmoil with the at least 1 million of Rwandan Hutu refugees who had crossed the border to find asylum in Zaïre. Ever since that part of my beloved country the DRC 🇨🇩 has never been in real peace. I can't wait to visit Goma 🇨🇩 and Bukavu🇨🇩 again. Aksante saaaana kwa kutuonyesha Goma. Goma is a nice city indeed. The thing that I regret most is the absence of a big enough public beach or a corniche to enjoy the beautiful Lake Kivu. The shores of the lake are mostly occupied by wealthy people's mansions.

While it is nice, I can tell you it’s NOT safe. My aunt leaves there and says it’s not uncommon for Rwandan troops to cross the border and try to take the city, in fact it’s happening now I think.
I heard another got stabbed to death because a group tried to take advantage of him. He was practically mutilated when he was found.

We, for a very long time, bc there was no internet, were in the belief that Africa was dirt poor. We wld see pictures of hungry children with dirty clothes living in huts or shacks. Once the internet came along the truth abt everything began to be unraveled. Africa is absolutely beautiful, stunning, vibrant and the future. Embrace Africa for she is rising and she has always been Queen.
