Die Roten currently sit 3rd in the Bundesliga this season, from a relegation battler into a contender for Champions League places and sitting just behind German giants Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the table.

When Stuttgart won the last game 2007 my hometown metzingen, 50km south of Stuttgart, was as empty of cars as normally while world cup. Stuttgart is the team of the region of suebia. And it is the club with the record in titles as under 18 and under 16. So it has a history of bringing up young players and bringing up nonames after joining the team. But it had a rough time the last 10-15 years after the title in 2007. The club was two times in the second Bundesliga. So the fans are always singing: "After all this shity it is going on a journey, Stuttgart international, europe cup!"

Stuttgart are one of Germany's "proper clubs" so I'm really glad they've sorted themselves out. Hopefully HSV will do the same!!
