Hello Neighbor is a stealth horror game about sneaking into your neighbor's house to figure out what horrible secrets he's hiding in the basement. You play against an advanced AI that learns from your every move. Really enjoying climbing through that backyard window? Expect a bear trap there. Sneaking through the front door? There'll be cameras there soon. Trying to escape? The Neighbor will find a shortcut and catch you.

When I was about to complete the game and I got to the part where the neighbor was trapped in the house I didn’t even wanna continue. I wanted to stay with him the whole time, so I stayed there because I don’t want to leave the neighbor after everything that happened to him.
The neighbour didn’t want to do any harm, he was just sad and scared, that’s what the shadow represents; fear, from the capture cutscenes, we see a story, the neighbour lost his wife, his children, he was too scared of being alone, so he kidnapped other kids, he was too busy avoiding his fears that he never found the strength to face them
Are we playing as his son? I know the boy killed his sister and it shows him throwing someone in the basement. But alot of it seemed to be a dream like act 3. So are we his son and he's having nightmares of trying to escape or are we trying to save his son that he locked in the basement.? I felt like the shadow is his son.
@@N_murderdroned the thing represents fear for nikie who is not mr Peterson's son the whole point of act 1 was to try to save him and in the ending the thing represents mr petersons fear of his own son

I honestly feel really bad bc if the kid is the neighbor, then that demon creature thing, has been haunting him his whole life. And hes been living a life of complete fear. 😭😭i feel so badd
The kid is the main character when he was young. You see him at the very start of the game. Its not the neighbor when he was young.
That isnt a demon . Thats his son . His son has lived all his life in the basement . In the act 1 the person that he was trying to handicap was his son . The shadow thing is the ghost of his son thats died maybe because of not eating anything . The reason why he handicapped his son is that his son has killed her daughter ( the boy killed her sister )

@@RipperRaidenX look they were an awesome and happy family . One day he had a car accident and lost her wife ( she dead ) after that day he is depressed . His son kills his sister ( the son kills daughter ) because she was looking same as her mom . After that neighbor locks him in the basement . If you remember the act 1 we saw neighbor fighting with someone . The person that neighbor was fighting with was his son . After that he saw us and scared of us to call police .

you dont get the meaning behind it.. the shadow means the fear, in the kid's case it's his fear of the neighbor and the things he did to him, and in the neighbor's case it's the fear of never being a father again. so yeah at the end we conquered our fear while the neighbor is still afraid of it
The neighbor is stuck in the house because he couldnt stand the fear of the kid because he had a bad life he couldn't take it anymore

All of this was fake. Act 3 has no meaning, it’s just Nicky overcoming fear. The neighbor being trapped in that house is a symbol to Nicky that he has been trapped by the Guest. The shadow figure is controlling the guest, but we see it literally here. The neighbor is fine, don’t worry!
