    What happen with John David's son is not learned, we are born in sin. You don't have to teach a child to be selfish with toys, you have to teach them to share. You don't have to teach a kid to lie or steal, you have to teach them not to lie or steal. Infants will even cry to make mom or dad think they are hungry or dirty when in fact they just want to be held. It is born in all of us. Love the show. God Bless you all

    This is what is missing today in the home besides parents divorcing and kids having kids. I’m 33 now with 3 boys of my own and I completely understand how JD feels, and I feel the same as Martin on them butt whippings I got myself, I didn’t like it but looking back now there is no telling what kind of sorry human being I would be if I wouldn’t have had parents that disciplined me, and I’m so thankful for it today.

    Gowan: that just burns my biscuits 😂. Also y’all talking about spankings back in the day my grandma also used to make people go pick their own switch and you better make sure you picked a good one or else you got it twice as bad. My uncle also made a paddle with 3 holes in the middle and every time you got spanked with it you had to write your name on it... so if your name was on there a lot you knew got the most spankings.

    You all talking bout getting a whooping reminded me of my two brothers when they got whoopings togerher. My dad whooped us with a belt. We all figured out that as soon as we started crying he would stop. Our oldest brother would cry right away. My other brother was stubborn. He wouldn't cry so dad would keep whooping them both. Our oldest brother would elbow our other brother saying, "Cry! Cry". Im glad i got my whoppings separate.😆

    I’m a Yankee living in the Deep South, and let me tell you, I got the belt for the bad stuff and the spankings for the disrespect. I’m a teacher, and during back to school day pre pandemic, a parent rolled up with a long thing in his hand and his kid in toe looking respectful. Somehow it clicked in my head that dad was carrying a switch to keep his kid in line. Talk about culture shock! I’ve never seen anything like it. I told my mother in law and she said “Hey, want me to pick a switch out back and show you how we do it?” My eyes got big and I was like, “NO MA’AM!” I trust it hurts.

    I love yall, I respect yall, I enjoy all your content and I respect your opinions. On the issue of hitting children with weapons, I personally can’t agree. I got all the tools n utensils and foliage used on me as a kid. Can’t say that it made me much better as a kid to be honest but I know it made my 20s and early 30s a helluva time. Used a lot of booze and drugs to “deal” with it. What Im trying to say is, bot one of you would use so much as a switch to correct another adult or youd be in jail or worse. So why is it acceptable to do so on a miniature, undeveloped human being that comes from your own love. Again, this is a sincere question meant to either educate me or make someone else consider it. Love you guys.

      I totally agree!❤️

    • @puppypaws33
      @puppypaws33 3 роки тому +1

      Honestly I find this content pretty disturbing i’m so glad more people have become educated on this and realize a child does not need to be beat to discipline! ‘Spare the rod’ has been completely taken out of context and used as validation for child abuse! I know this personally as well unfortunately. There is plenty of documented evidence on the subject at this point and the alternatives that actually work.

    • @sirstrobie2436
      @sirstrobie2436 3 роки тому

      @@puppypaws33 Thanks for adding this! Our sentiments on this are often taken as “weak parenting” or that we must automatically raise horrible kids. My daughter is 15 years old now and for 15 years I’ve only heard that she is the most polite and well spoken and mature little girl. Ive never had to whoop her or whip her or strike her at all. My way wasn’t perfect but the point is that there’s always room for improvement when it comes to parenting. So why not improve? ❤️

    When we no longer discipline our children, we end up with what we have today. A bunch of over-grown, spoiled, adult children making public temper tantrums the social norm and expecting everybody to bend facts over feelings. I’m late to this episode, but I don’t think JD’s son took the money by example of other peers. Children are inherently innocent and based on JD’s explanation of why he took the money, it makes more sense to see it that way. Plus children are afraid to get into trouble. They lie to deflect pain.
