This wasn’t a great episode, but the student six are still as loveable as ever. It was fun at least seeing their interactions with each other and how they react to Applejack and Rainbow Dash’s competitive nature.
Can turn into inanimate objects, into other ponies, into literally any creature including something that can breathe underwater. Ocellus, and by extension Changelings are insanely versatile creatures.
It would be really nice to get some kind of explanation that establishes the limits on changeling-transformations. Otherwise they are the strongest race of them all by default since they could theoretically all transform into Ursa Majors for example.
I'm thinking that the transformation ability is a sub-atomic ability. Basically, the molecules is their body can be taken apart and rearranged like Legos. If that's the case, the brain is the one part that can't be messed with while shape-shifting. Also, anyone else wondering about a stealth game where you can play as a changeling and either disguise as other creatures or turn invisible? I'm thinking similiar to the Batman: Arkham series, but they have a wall crawl ability and other stuff.
13:14 Pause Applejack was the one trying to get the students to learn teamwork by building the shed, and during the "race" was looking out for their safety. Rainbow was only concerned about beating some record in a race. So why is Twilight scolding them both about competing? Yes, AJ wanted that trophy, but she still looked out for the students safety first.

AJ and RD were written good in all the other episodes like Castle Maneia(don't know how to spell) where their competitiveness wasn't the center of the whole episode and to me was enjoyable to watch. Even Fall Weather Friends was a good original episode (in my opinion) with other bits of comedy and a resolution. I'm upset that my 2nd and 3rd favorite ponies are being shown as jerks ignoring all of their character development from past episodes.

Why would Twilight have left without getting the signatures, when she met both of the parents and everyone appeared to be on good terms? Don't you think there would have been some sign of conflict or disappointment on Twilight's part by the end of the episode if she hadn't accomplished what she came there for?
This episode was frustrating to watch; and besides in the premiere we saw the kid creatures use teamwork! RD and AJ were hit with the stupid stick, the only one that was in character was Twilight; but even then she should have stayed with RD and AJ just in case they didn't try the same thing again. The only thing that saved this episode was the students themselves, they were just great to watch in this. The episode was basically worthless/useless though even with the great moments with the students because RD and AJ didn't even learn anything! They just went back to arguing. This episode would have been better at season 1 or 2 or heck even season 3. Definitely the worst episode of the season so far, RD and AJ just got hit with the stupid stick repeatedly no one learned a lesson, it seemed like something that would have been better in the earlier seasons, RD and AJ characters just regressed big time. Just really disappointing.
So it's been at least 9 months since Twilight founded her school... unless a "month" in pony time is much shorter, we have some kind of definite timeframe.

Does Twilight actually teach? She's the Headmare, she runs the school. Most I've seen is her checking in on the classes. Pinkie may be fun but she's also a bit, how to put it, insane. Might not be as popular as the quiet, no test giving teacher who lets you pet cute animals every class. I have no answer for Rarity losing in popularity to Fluttershy. Maybe cause her classes are heavily themed in fashion? I don't know. Starlight's a councelor, students might not consider her for the TEACHING award.
