I just built/tried the grasp for the first time along with a Whitetail Tigershark deck. Your review is spot on. I’ve never turned around so effortlessly in the tightest spaces. Very easy to build up momentum as well. Definitely a top tier truck if not #1 in my book. Thinking about taking it to a skatepark right now.
Trucks looks great! Your review convinced me. Was about to buy them from Jackalop only to realize my checkout total was almost 300$CAD after shipping and tax. That is any insane amount for a pair of trucks! :(
Awesome review👏 I was waiting for your review becouse i like YOW the most from all My surfskates trucks and i hesitated to order the grasp trucks because I didn't think it would really be different from carver cx but after hearing your review I decided to order one and put in my new board I have from soulboardy 🤙 Thanks🙏

If you get them vis Status skateshop in US or Whitetail online shop in Canada, the prices seem not too bad for a premium product. But they aren't cheap either.
Awesome review (as usual ;) ! I feel so mich better now, having ordered the Grasp system on pure intuition - I couldnt get the deck, so I have it set up with the Skalle and 60mm 85a Rat Bones Will report back how it rides once I try it out, but this made me feel so much better regarding my purchase decision

He slates a lot of stuff others like and just states Carver CX all the time heh. Anyhoo, Mark here is nice and chilled and everyone else really seems to like Grasp's trucks
He said similar about the hamboard, said it didn't pump. Rad dad channel just posted a video of him and his son pumping them around a skate park and even uphill. Made me doubt everything steve says. Gonna get me some grasp and try them on my loaded poke
Alright, amigo.. The Whitetail/Grasp combo on the snake run footage is gonna drive me insane, it's so good. It's easy to see that you jelled with that setup immediately. I hope you spend a lot of time in the bowls and pump tracks on this setup. You're having a blast, so I foresee you evolving into some innovative and organic style. I can't wait to be able to try that. It looks like my jam, too, for what I like to do. Thanks for the solid review and inspiration, Mark.
Ha! I was hyping them too! 😂 Best Trucks I have tried. I want to get a second pair to replace my YOW! I also dig them for commuting. I love that you can equally kick push and pump them. Happy to know my favourite setup (Whaleshark/Grasps/SSL 83a wheels) matches that of the mighty Landlocked Mark! God of Flow approved🤘🏻⚡️
I recently changed the bushings on my Carver CX to the stock carver Medium bushings and have been really surprised at the difference it’s made. To me it feels a lot more like the spring based systems but still with the snappy feel. It’s also much easier to pump from a standstill. Might be worth considering if you have a carver CX and you don’t want to invest in a new truck system
This looks legit. Love the commute part. Awesome that you can skate to work. I skate my yow the most and my waterborne second. My carver CX never gets used. However, I was skating with Work For Avocados the other day and the way his C5s were set up with smaller wheels on the Whitetail deck sold me. So I am going to change out my complete carver for another deck and smaller wheels. Stay Rad Sir.
To be fair I skate 1/3 of the way, light rail train 1/3 of the way, and bus 1/3 of the way... But I feel good about self propelling myself part of the way. I love the C5s on the Whitetail too.
One of the things I have been meaning to say on this channel is how much I miss my Ottawa trips. I am 51 and still an active surfer, surfskater, skimboarder and mountain biker. Well, the conference wasn't the fun part. I would get up at 6AM and go to the skatepark Mark films a lot in and I gotta tell ya - it is one of the most fun skateparks I have ever been to. It is big but mellow, that's the only way I can put it. On top of that the culture of Ottawa - when it comes to outdoor recreation in general not only skating - is amazing. No one cares. The police say hello when I skate by (definitely not the same vibe here!) One time the police asked me if I could do a trick for them .... the cops. I felt bad because all I know how to do is carve :) Anyhow, keep making these. They are all awesome, your movies are awesome and hopefully at some point I can visit again.

@@robbiewalsh723 My verdict is yes. Even if upgraded bushings and pivot cups bring the turns closer, it doesn’t fix the kingpin hangup issue. And I hate having to restrain my riding because I am using a specific truck.
@@MarktheLandlockedSurferWhat if you reverse the kingpin? Which people do to fix that issue with the CX and CX clones. So if the kingpin is no longer an issue too is is still really different and much better?
Hi mark long time since I bothered you. Question about the the Grasp turn ability. CX more lean than Grasp, Grasp more turn than CX. Maybe something to do with the angle of Grasp’s kingpin. Maybe you can check the difference, guess you have both. Hands down the yamba 900 still rocks against anything I have, just counted like 15 unused ones. I told the whale shark women to make a smaller version (30.5 -31.0) of the whale, something like 14,5 15.0 wheelbase, but she wouldn’t listen 👂.
If you are taking the Grasp into the bowl only, no street ride, what wheels would you ride?....Something like newer Rat bones 60mm 93A or stay with those softer wheels?
I’ve been using the 65mm 84a Surfskate Love wheels on mine, they are a nice in between. But the Dragon rat bones could be a good option too, just be careful in slick painted bowls where they can be prone to sliding out.
Grasp on the map! Mark is on point with his review of the Grasp system. Best bushing based system, period. Superior product straight out of the box, hands down, full stop.
Hi Mark. Nice review as always. Very instructive. You said that you place this grasp trucks between yow meraki and carver cx. How would you place it in regards of longisland genisis truck system which is a meriaki design but the spring replaced by 2 semi lunar bushings. Did you already try them? I think to invest in whitetail whaleshark deck but thinking in the same time about coherence with trucks. Considering the usual paradox getting a good angle to shred on Berts but as well trying tricks requiring stability like grids or boneless/bean plants/inverts
I'd love to try the Genesis as I have heard good things, but with the quiver I have already I can't justify buying new surfskate gear and the company wasn't interested in sending me one to review.
