I honestly believe this is the worst way to straighten hair. First of all she never put heat protectant. Second she put hair spray before flat ironing, that is like the worst thing for hair. Hairspray in the first place isn't healthy for hair, and then applying heat to hairspray is even worse. Also, the hairstylist didn't even get the girls roots, if she's really a "celebrity" hairstylist she would know this is a unhealthy method to straighten hair
Although I found the method used in the video hilariously wrong, in the woman's defense, the "straightening balm" she mentioned in the first seconds of the video is the heat protector. And the hair spray she used may have been heat protectant spray.

She added the straightening balm then heat... Then hairspray. Most hairsprays contain alcohol which dries out the hair. A heat protectant with some silicones would've offered better protection. Her hair looks good but she could get heat damage which would result in a loss of curl pattern and lifeless hair

Hairspray gives you a good straightening shine but it's also known to fry your hair or make it unappealingly shiny or oily. A light spray over the whole head before you start the straightening process is best .
