I really don't care about the gear you use, I care more about the tips and tricks you give, the beauty of your pictures and the quality of your videos. Keep up the good work.
"Amateurs worry about equipment, professionals worry about money, masters worry about light, I just take pictures" - Vernon Trent I don't mind what gear you use. Never have. I like your photos and your content. Been watching your videos around four years now and will continue to do so even though I have always used different camera brands while following you.
I “worry” about color too, and enjoyment of the process, designing my own SOOC recipes as well.. so Fuji it is. Haters gunna criticize.. but no worries, I’m out taking photos I like
You were a big reason why I (still a beginner) got an X-T5 this year. I know it's a great camera and, like all cameras, has its limitations. I hope to outgrow it one day! Regardless of what gear you're currently using, I'm glad I found you and will continue to follow along for inspiration. Thanks for always being so candid with tips and reviews.
I'm a hobbyist, and I am enjoying shooting much more than editing, I just in love with the process. And Fuji gives you a really nice colors. I can focus on composition and process, not thinking about post editing for hours. I can't justify a Leica for now, and Sony feels souless. But I 100% agree with lack of innovation in all directions, slow updates, and autofocus problems. I would never pick Fuji for work, just because of how Sony autofocus is good, and sensor gathering more light. Have a nice journey with the new gear, and don't forget to share!
very well said 100% agree. I also do video / photo for fun and post it on Instagram used to have a sony a7iii but it was so boring and like you said souless to use. Now i have a xh2s and i love it. The new autofocus update was really great
@@mikkelguy Really? Soulless? All cameras are boxes. They have either a shutter or a sensor. Nothing more. The soul is you. I'm sorry you fall for the trap that Sony is soulless, yet it is one of the major players bringing incredible machines to the public. All cameras are soulless. They are all manufactured from parts. The owner should be able to pick up any camera, any make and make great pictures. You are the soul. I can take any camera, Pentax Spotmatic F, Canon FTB, Nikon F2, Mamiya 6x7, Yashica point and shoot and twin-lens reflex and get good pictures. It's not the camera. It can't take good pictures all by itself. You, the moment you look through the EVF become the camera. I hope you all don't fall for this crap from shills who really are nothing more than average shooters making money off YT passing opinion, not fact.
@@mikkelguy As a retired senior & hobby photographer, I agree with @theAndersonTeam 100%. At my age/stage , it would be financial suicide.I just audited my gear for insurance purposes & I couldn't believe it hit 5 figures & I do not have exotic gear (XS20 & XT4 plus 6 lenses & accessories).
@@bondgabebond4907 Sometimes preference boils down to surface level aesthetic attraction. For some, including me, Fuji makes cameras that are physically nicer looking than Sony for the most part. Not that Sony makes bad products or their colours and whatnot are "soulless". If a camera inspires you, it inspires you to pick it up and take pictures. I've been both a canon, Sony, and Fuji shooter, and so far, that surface level aesthetics really helped me pick up my fuji more and use it, leading me to make more art.
Higher prices, inferior build quality of the most recent Fuji cameras, particularly the XT-5 & autofocus issues across multiple camera platforms, etc. are major obstacles for Fuji in retaining their customer base. At the end of the day, every photographer has to decide on a system that will best meet their needs whether professionally or on a personal level. Fuji created quite a bit of excitement in the industry when introducing their mirrorless camera offerings years ago, The question remains as to how Fuji can re-capture the imagination of photographers with future camera releases & quality innovations that draw photographers to their brand.
I blame Popsys 😂 Seriously though, you’re a top bloke, no matter what you’re shooting or what you’re shooting it with and it’s evident here that we’ll all be watching as you grow with the new gear. As always, looking forward to more, have a great Holiday season!
You don't really need any reason to switch, but "This tool/set of tools no longer meets my needs as a professional" is as rock-solid a reason as one will find. And besides, I'm currently a Lumix guy, so I'm just here for the tips on composition and approach to photography and all that. I enjoyed the Leica video...looks great but I'm pretty sure the ergonomics of that camera would make me crazy. Cheers and best wishes!
As a Q2 user, if the thumb and finger grips are fitted, the ergonomics and the interface are second to none. Is it the most capable and sophisticated camera? Is it good value? Certainly not. It has other qualities that make it particularly satisfying to use.
I appreciate your honesty and authenticity! Shoot whatever gear you want to use and I'll keep watching your content because it's all about what you do with the gear, not the gear itself.
Appreciate your honesty, respect. I'm not a pro photographer but one plus about Fuji is the portability, I hate lugging huge lenses and a big camera. Especially when traveling.
Roman, those of us who truly appreciate the art will continue to watch and support you regardless of what brand you use. I purchased your xt5 guide and learned so much about my camera but I can whole heartedly say that your guide taught me a lot about photography in general not just Fujifilm. Your explanations of settings/modes etc (not exclusive to Fujifilm) made things click for me, I had many aha moments. So much of what you provided in that guide applies to so many other camera systems as well. I speak for a lot of people when I say, I can't wait to see what you create next!
I think two valid points for switching that I didn’t see you mention… the Fuji RAW files don’t work as well in Light Room (weird artifacts when sharpening etc) as it would in other editing software. Then a big reason for me thinking of switching is device availability/stock.
I switched from Fujifilm to Nikon almost a full year ago and it was a bittersweet moment. I got into Fujifilm during the crazy year of 2020 and sparked my love for photography again with the old school retro dials and lens selections. Eventually I added more to my set, upgraded camera bodies over the years, and found channels like yours that helped me become a better photographer with your gear reviews, setting recommendations, and overall the enjoyment of your videos. One of the first ones I followed might I add since then lol Unfortunately the long going autofocus issues got to me and the low light capabilities were limited. When Nikon intro’d the ZF, I made the switch and never looked back. It just tacks on all the capabilities I need and more. I was never a “oh full sensor is better than APC-S sensors” person but the ZF’s fullframe sensor does help with lowlight capabilities. It was bittersweet because Fujifilm got me back into photography and help me get things going at a rough time in my life and the world in general. The change was necessary and the ZF does everything for me as a hobbyist. No matter what brand you use moving forward, I will still continue to follow your channel and look forward to your new content with your new gear.
My history is a little bit the same. Photography come back was started by changing old APS-C by Samsung to Fuji. But, after one year, when I planned to change my camera to something better... I've found that newest Fuji cameras have many annoying problem. So, probably, the next camera, for Voightlander lenses, and "even further return to photography, to my beginnings with analog" would based on Nikon, which was my first digital DSLR which I suddenly had to sell.
For me, this change is important because literally the day before you announced that you were giving up on Fuji, I told a photographer friend the same thing. Specifically, that there is something wrong with Fuji cameras, availability issues, various problems with new cameras, such as the X-H2, X-T5, X-S20, noticeable drop in quality, and this AF annoyance. My X-S10 will remain, with 8mm and 35mm, as a camera for family photos called "choose the film simulation on our photo together", but when it comes to going to manual lenses, which I have always wanted to try, I will try a different system. And your decision helped me make mine. Thanks!
You nailed who I am. A Fujifilm user who found your channel. But I'm just an enthusiast who loves the act of taking photos, which I believe Fuji excels in compared to the others (all options are my own). So I know you are coming from a completely different perspective and 100% respect that. I guess my only concern is that you'll be likely referencing more technical things with Sony or Leica in your videos that won't apply to me anymore. So I wish you all the best and I hope you get 100 more people subscribing to offset a nobody's leaving.
Always love your videos, your work, and your images, so I'll be staying, and not just because I use both Fujifilm AND Sony cameras! I have the Fuji XT3, XT5, and X100VI, for more lightweight carry type of stuff, but I also have the Sony A7RV, and whilst Sony might not be as much 'fun' to shoot, the difference in image quality and focusing is (frequently) night and day better than Fujifilm. Besides all that, I feel that a lot of your content isn't particularly manufacturer specific, so I'd be staying no matter which manufacturer you had switched to. So keep up the great work! 🙂
UA-camrs are switching systems for content, and to make new content and to gain more subscribers. Just choose what system works for you, never follow UA-camrs advice or their choices for a certain system. Thank you Roman for being honest about it! I totally understand you! It’s always pleasure to watch your videos.
I switched from Fuji to Canon originally. I was using a canon R5. I wanted to use a full frame camera. But I got disgusted with Cannon‘s lack of support for third-party’s lenses. So about a year ago, I switched to Sony and couldn’t be happier. The last time I checked, they support the greatest number of lenses from both Sony and third parties (around 300). So now I’m able to buy a lot more lenses and although they’re not quite as sharp as the high-end ones, they are still really good and I can improve things in post. I’ve been in photography for many decades, and my biggest lesson learned is to focus on the camera manufacturer that support the lenses you really want.
I found you because I was interested in following fujifilm shooters. I stuck around because you give good photography advice. I think injecting excitement into your work is what keeps you going. Well done. Can’t wait to see more of your work. Merry Christmas!
I found you when I was considering getting my first camera. I was considering a Fuji XA7. I bought a Sony ZVE 10 because as a blind person I need a working camera and the MI hot shue products specifically. I still watch you because you are describing things really friendly for blind people. So, welcome!
Fantastic, one of the few who are true to what they say. Roman has always stated he was never attached to any brand and this a clear demonstration of it. A proper professional using his tools as tools
Im using sony sistem for years but followed your channel because I very much like how you do street photography. Never looked trough the particular brand of the camera. All said in this video makes sense and feels honest. keep a good work!
Haha people get so upset with cameras, it is just a camera brand. I follow you because you are funny, a very particular sense of humour that has nothing to do with the cameras. I also do use Fuji for photos, but when I will start getting paid for my videography, Sony will be the choice. Looking forward to your future videos releases and travel content.
Agree with your reasons, and it shows how truly mature and serious as a pro photographer you are. And am sure you will keep achieving even more success and experience. Cheers!
you are an amazing photographer regardless of what brand you shoot with. I started with Fuji and jumped onto Sony last year for the same reasons as you. I found you through searching for fujifilm related stuff but you have already grown beyond that and your photography is incredible + you have a very unique and humble way of teaching on your channel so i dont think you will be loosing many subscribers.
I love these perspectives. It’s so easy to get caught up with gear in this community rather than the art and the business which is so much more important. That being said, we can’t deny that gear conversation are fun to have! I shoot all my pro work on Canon but I picked up a Fuji system (XT-5 + primes) at the beginning on this year for some casual personal photography. I love using it, it helps me connect with my photography in a different way that’s not so clinical and my brain loves that, but it will never replace my Canon gear for all of these reasons you stated and more.
The initial reason I started to follow you was Fuji based. I had just bought an XT2 and was trawling UA-cam to find advice on the best way to use the system and reviews on lenses. I must thank you because your videos helped guide me to where I am now with the XT5 and I'm still really enjoying the system. Your decision to move away from Fuji has nothing to do with anyone else's opinion. You need to use the equipment that helps you to grow and progress in your photographic career. I for one wish you all the best and will continue to watch your videos because I like your style of photography. You have certainly had an influence on how I look through my lens.
I have never used Fuji, not for any bias but I am invested in Nikon gear, and follow you for the photography. I will keep watching as you go down thi different path.
I have followed Roman for years, and I have never liked Fuji cameras! Or any mirrorless with a EVF. Am a Pentax man, so even slower and less pro even than Fuji. But Roman's lessons and experiences in these vids are universal (usually). Keep up the good work, looking forward to how you get on with the new systems!
Hey Roman, thanks for such an honest update. It's a crazy time we live in where creators and professionals such as yourself feel the need to explain their gear choices to their audiences. While the transparency is much appreciate, I'm sure the people who are here for you are just happy that you're making decisions for yourself and the betterment of your craft. I'm super excited to see what you're capable of with the Sony system!
I don’t think the explanation is to say sorry to the Fuji dedicated. I think the explanation is an educational topic to get the Fuji faithful to see the forest through the trees.
This video makes sense and no excuses necessary. Not being a pro, I started with Fuji, landed on Sony and for the past two years I’ve sold off all my Fuji gear and most of my Sony gear. Then moving through the Leica Q system, Q3 28 is what I’ve finally landed on. Amazing documentary, street and EDC camera with my iPhone 16 Pro Max.
I came to your channel because of Fujifilm and you’ve really helped me out a lot since I bought my Fuji XH2S 7 months ago. I think you give fantastic photography advice so I will definitely stay subscribed to your channel regardless of what brand you’re with.
YES!!! This video truly speaks the truth for how one does things and why they change without the fuzzy dramatic most UA-camrs say in their videos as sell outs. I truly appreciate your videos and did find you because of fujifilm, but stayed because I like your style in photos and videos. The fact that you said the only brand you care about is yours....AMEN BROTHER! I wish more videos in UA-cam could be like these instead of clickbait and that they could stop trying to get us in Gear acquisition syndrome. It truly annoys me when a channel went from doing the things they like to become a sells person for brands. Keep up the great work and can't wait for ur next video!
Thank you for your honesty and openness. I look forward to continuing to follow your journey. I am a Fuji shooter and have recently bought the Leica Q3 43 to develop my photography further.
When making the upgrade to mirrorless, I was torn between Fujifilm and Nikon. I actually ordered the XT-3 and 18-55 from MPB, but it immediately had issues vibrating and making an audible buzzing sound. I took this as a sign and returned it for the Nikon Z-5 and the 24-120 F4, and I haven't looked back. Even second-hand Fujis just seem too expensive and the autofocus issues and build quality concerns you mention are too big to ignore.
Well said, and this is a great video. Long time fujifilm user here and I agree every bit of your thoughts about the brand. Happy for you to find the new challenge and I can see the passion from your recent work again, not sure if they are from the new cameras but surely it looks different from what you used to post.
Thanks, Roman. Actual photographers (including Fujifilm shooters like me) will understand dry spells, boredom, the excitement of new gear, and feeling like you are getting better. Also true that if this is how you make your living, you need to make enough money to sustain yourself and your business - no apologies required. With the Q43, you will thank yourself for buying a proper add-on grip. It makes the difference between fighting the camera and being able to enjoy using it every day. Cheers and good luck!
Roman, I appreciate your videos because they are honest, informative and genuinely useful. Although I use Fujifilm I will keep watching because there is value in what you share that goes beyond camera systems. Learning a new system can be rejuvenating and inspiring. Good on you for making a change that is right for you. I look forward to your future videos.
No matter what gear you use, I enjoy watching your video's and I admire the pictures you show in your video's I started with photography in 2008 and thanks to you I learned about layering, using colors and framing my photo's in an other way than I did for all those years. Thanks for that Roman
Totally understand your frustration. I was a loyal Fujifilm user for 15 years, but I recently sold most of my gear. While I still keep my X-E4 with a Voigtländer Ultron as a pocket camera, I briefly owned a Leica Q3 before switching to an M11 with a 35mm Summilux-M and a 28mm Ultron. Fujifilm's recent approach has been disappointing. They seem more focused on releasing minor firmware updates than addressing the needs of their existing user base. Their cameras have been declining in quality, which may have pushed me towards Sony or Nikon. I only stuck with Leica due to my existing investment.
Honestly I don't blame any professional working photographer for moving to Sony lol, it's just the most reliable and capable system across the board. I like Fuji because I'm a hobbyist who primarily shoots landscape; mainly because it was the cheapest system when I got into mirrorless, had good 3rd party lenses, and was the most fun and engaging (with film sims, etc.). Everything is so polarized these days, and it absolutely extends to brand loyalty. I shot Nikon DSLR's for 15+ years and could've gone with Z mount (which is almost on par with E mount these days imo), but moving systems scratched my gear and photography itch, and there's nothing wrong with that lol. I'm here for your photography and your knowledge of the artform, I don't really care if you're shooting Sony or Leica!
My biggest realization of 8 years of photography is, that it is pretty irrelevant which camera I use. All of them took great and bad photos. The perfect camera or brand does not exist. Your reasons to switch are understandable and i personally am here for your photos and content.
You are a professional, so you use the gear wich suits most your needs! This is what professionals do. Tbh, I can’t believe that people get upset about that… I am a fuji user, but I watch your content because I consider it the most interesting and inspiring. Keep going! Look forward to your next videos! Cheers!
A very honest and open rationale for moving on from Fujifilm. I applaud your honesty. As a Fujifilm user, I'll still want to get you knowledge, insights and perspective, irrespective of the camera you are using, good luck in your next steps.
I only have one camera and it's an XT200. Being broke has convinced me that gear isn't more important than creativity. I'm looking forward to your future work.
Don't worry mate! It's you who is making the nice footage and photos. And yes it is because of you I start to use an old X-T1 and i love it as well. This besides my Lumix S5 and my Sony A7. They all have their own field of use which is also influenced by my own mood. So it is good to change or use different gears and it will keep you inspired and pull the best out of you. Enjoy it and I'll keep on follow you no matter what you use.
I moved earlier this year away from XH2, XH2S and GFX50ii to Nikon Zf and Z8. Why? I got tired of scrapping out of focus pictures. Glad I moved. Very happy with results. Zf has really sparked a new love of photography for me. Congratulations… your input from diverse experiences is worth more now! All the best
I’ll still watch your channel, Roman. You are a photographer and it doesn’t matter what equipment you use. I’m a hobbyist and shoot Fuji. Changing systems for me would be too costly and I’m not sure I even want to. This is a good reminder to be a photographer first and let the gear take a back seat.
I came for Fujifilm but stayed for the photos. Don't care what camera brand or gear you use. You have a distinct style of photography and thats what keeps me glued to this channel and your content. Keep being honest Roman !
You made the right choice. For professional work, Sony is very reliable. I first used Sony A6400 & A7C2 but really got tired of editing photos, Fujifilm is a one way ticket to less post editing and use photos right away which now I enjoy and using two camera bodies, XT5 & XPro2. No one knows what happens in the future, and I might switch XT5 back to a Sony if I need something more reliable for freelance work or serving in church. Will continue to watch your videos. They are easy to understand and very interesting. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Too funny, I have started with Fuji like you. 3 years ago I switched to Sony and a year later I added a Leica M11. Still, I’m using an x100vi for fun. Enjoy your journey.
All points given are very logical and completely make sense. I've been shooting with Fujifilm for years, currently a X-T5, I've been considering switching to Sony. While I don't shoot professional for now, the amount of false positives I get has been getting more and more frustrating. Considering an A7C II since I still prefer a more compact size.
I started watching you because you used Fuji cameras, namely the X-T5, which I had just purchased at the time. The more I watched your videos I really became more interested in your photography instead of which gear you used and have grown to appreciate your style and now look forward to your next video. I will most certainly continue to watch you, no matter what gear you use, although I will be interested in hearing what you have to say about it. I still have my X-T5 but don't use it nearly as much since purchasing the R5 MkII, a simply phenomenal camera. Congrats on your new gear! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!
I've been a Sony user for years. Was attracted to the retro look of Fuji and thought about getting one as a backup camera but never pulled the trigger. The film simulations are fun for jpeg shooters but so many film simulation software if shooting raw from any brand. The tech is just so good with Sony and so many lenses to choose from. Use whatever works for your style of photography. For myself that's Sony currently and likely to remain so for foreseeable future.
I appreciate your honesty and I totally respect your decision. I’m a Canon user and I’ve been following you for your work and not for the gears you are using. I also agree that switching platform can be beneficial for your growth as a photographer and as well for your business.
Several other creators have left Fujifilm recently. It makes sense; Fujifilm X series seems to be intended for enthusiasts, not working professionals. I hope the exodus of talented folks like yourself motivates Fujifilm to address the performance and quality of their products. I appreciate your efforts and will continue to follow you.
Like others have said, I found you searching for Fuji reviews and got my fist digital camera - an X-T5 - in part based on your reviews. Along the way, I've grown to appreciate your style. Since I'm not planning to jump ship, Ihope you will still do walkabouts and stuff about composition and editing! That way, people can find you from the gear searches but stay for the actual art of your photography.
I don’t know how to word this without sounding dramatic lol but here it goes. For years I have followed different photographers who shoot different camera brands. I enjoy how different systems, brands, formats, film/digital, editing…, bring to the style of a photographer because I think there’s a lot to learn from them, regardless the camera one own. Having said that, sadly a lot of them who had moved to Sony end up with a certain kind similar of content and aesthetic that I personally don’t like. But do I enjoy your content and photos a lot so I’ll be looking forward to the Leica content.
2 years ago I bought my first camera, which is a used A7II, and with that body I've bought, sold, and traded a couple of lenses, and at the beginning of the year I made a commitment to myself that I would restrain myself from buying anymore lenses, sold all my other lenses and I've basically only shoot with the 35mm GM lens, and it was the most fun time I had shooting with a camera, and a while ago I realized if I really had fun with this one body, one lens setup, the X100 series cameras would probably be a perfect choice for me, so I've basically sold my sony system and bought an X100V. So I think people being loyal to a brand are limiting themselves and if you think a particular brand suits your current need and you have the budget for it, then maybe switching systems is the way to go
Well you are a very honest guy & I appplaud you for being so straightforward. The main reason I watch your videos is because you are a very good street photographer. As someone who used to run a business you've got to think about money. BTW, most successful business owers get bored - if it's making you good money stick at it.
Do what you need to do, it's your business, no one else's. I love your videos and their content and if Sony and Leica helps you make better and more enjoyable content then bring them on.
I’ve been a Fuji user since 2018. XT3 then XH2S. I just bought a Z6iii because of the smoking deals and, Wow. I had no idea what I was missing. Shots are sharper, low light is crazy, and the autofocus (despite apparently not being Sony or Canon level) is light years ahead of Fuji. Long story short, you won’t be disappointed.
You did take a huge number of beautiful photos with Fuji. And have developed yourself as a photographer and a storyteller. One would expect a bit of more appreciation expressed for all that journey. Still, you have the full right to make your choices in your own way. Looking forward to see your new work. Good luck & I’m staying subscribed!
Hey Roman, I started watching you because of your Fujifilm videos, but stayed because of your photography. I dont think of you as a "Fujifilm" photographer, but I understand that switching can benefit you in the long run. Either way, keep on creating great pictures with any camera!
I don't think people are upset bc of brand loyalty. It's just nice seeing someone using the same gear as you, especially when there aren't many in the market. It helps provide context as to what your gear is capable of When James Popsys switched to Sony I realized there's almost nobody that I was able to relate to anymore in the MFT community.
Agree with your callouts on Fuji. Have added the A7CR/20-70/70-200 recently in addition to the X-H2/Sigma 10-18/Fuji 16-50 zooms. Unlike you, landscapes are all I shoot. The Fuji has become the lightweight carry while the Sony is the FF set for more involved trips. There are times the Fuji raw colors are just better while the Sony can seem overly vibrant and saturated, in some situations. Enjoy your switchover journey.
Jumped from Fuji to a7rv in late summer of this year after about 7 years of being a Fuji shooter. So far loving the switch! Congrats on the swap. For the record, I still watched/ followed after my move to Sony for the knowledge, art, learning, etc. The camera is the tool, not the topic.
It's all good! Use what you want to and what gets results. I agree with your point about Fuji not appealing to professionals lately. The build quality of the X-T5 being subpar compared to the X-T4 really shocked me. And they only did it to keep the cost "down" and not cannibalise the X-H2. They gimped the EVF and storage (no CF express) on the X-T5, and didn't make a battery grip for it, which just makes it less of a "professional" camera. The non-existent X-Pro 4 also is surprising, that should be their "flagship" "heritage" style interchangeable lens photography camera, with rock solid build quality, big bright fast EVF and the hybrid range finder experience that people love about that series of camera. But instead of making that they keep releasing stuff like the X-M5 and X-T50 etc. I am hopeful that they are trying to focus on professionals a bit more, with the 16-55 mk 2 upgrade, and releasing the 500mm f5.6 (I know it's a repurposed GFX lens but it's still something to entice wildlife photographers), I have that lens on order, and own the 150-600 because I shoot wildlife with Fuji. I'd swap to Sony or Nikon but I would need to have a small fortune to do that to really upgrade.
I switched from Fuji XT5/XS20 to Nikon ZF and Ricoh GRiii and have never looked back. I too got bored but I really wanted better AF and a more solid build. Had to send my XT5 off for a month due to dial failure. Fuji had to rebuild the entire camera under warranty. Ps. Love your photos for years now. Does not matter which gear, it’s the eye of the artist.
Same here. Switched from the XT5 to the Nikon ZF and no regrets for the change. Better focusing and low light capabilities and used Nikon prior to Fuji years ago so familiar with the menu
100% valid reasons. I always liked you use Fuji also for the reason I use it too. But what kept me was your approach to photography and your style and Im looking forward to how it will evolve and most likely will improve on the new systems
Fuji has definitely focused more on “film simulations” and the amateur market. Definitely a bummer that they’ve left the professionals out in the cold. Keep doing you Roman, and keep cranking out the great content!
Nonsensical comment. XH2, XH2S, GFX, etc are not for amateurs. You're commenting based on what exactly? XE-4? Even an XPro2 is definitely NOT an amateur camera, and now the lenses across the X mount from Fuji, Voigt, etc are stellar. Use whatever you want, but drop the inane commentary.
@@morespinach9832 whatever definition of professional we use - one thing screams professional - and thats reliability. yes the x-h2 xh2s and gfx cameras are absolutely for professionals, I use the x-h2 for wildlife. But when you can't rely on them for AF because fuji broke it in a firmware update... that doesn't scream professional tool to me. I know from experience there was a moment I had with some deer that I encountered. I was so excited about the photos I took - only to get home and see that 90%+ were out of focus - even though on camera the square was green, it had clearly not picked up focus. The AF wasn't broken in a "you just need to tweak your settings" way - it just didn't work most of the time, constantly hunting and giving false positives. I've since downgraded my firmware to a much earlier version before all the AI stuff, and won't be updating until I absolutely have to. A professional tool requires professional support from the manufacturer, that's part of why you pay the premium prices. They shouldn't have shipped the broken firmware in the first place, and even after they did - their communication with their pro users should have been faster, and they should have issued a fix much faster than they did.
I found your channel exactly as you described - by searching for tips/tricks on my new XT2. Have been following you since and can't wait to see the success that Sony, Leica, Hasselblad, etc will bring you in 2025 and beyond. Bravo and best of luck!
While I probably found your channel via a search for Fujifilm something or other, I subbed and keep coming back because you're very relatable and I enjoy your perspective. "Brand Loyalty", especially to some mega-corporation, makes no sense to me. 100% agree on the build quality. The X-T5 and X100V (my two Fuji bodies) are worlds apart. I mentioned something similar to another photog a few weeks ago, that probably all camera manufacturers are skimping on materials these days. He handed me his Nikon ZF and I knew I was wrong.
I did the opposite, going from sony to fuji. As a person who is not using cameras for work, I very much value the compactness and ability to carry it everywhere I go over raw performance. For me I mainly use manual lenses so thats fine. But having came from sony I can say you are not wrong in jumping for those reasons you listed.
I really don't care about the gear you use, I care more about the tips and tricks you give, the beauty of your pictures and the quality of your videos. Keep up the good work.
Roman we watch your videos because of your photography, personality, quality, and your honest opinion. Photography is beyond camera brands.

I don't mind what gear you use. Never have. I like your photos and your content. Been watching your videos around four years now and will continue to do so even though I have always used different camera brands while following you.
that's some quote that haha so true
I've never seen that quote before, but I think it is a beauty and I love it!
What a quote! 😎
I “worry” about color too, and enjoyment of the process, designing my own SOOC recipes as well.. so Fuji it is. Haters gunna criticize.. but no worries, I’m out taking photos I like
TRAITOR! JUDAS! QUISLING! UNSUBSCRIBED! Oh wait, I don't use Fuji. Carry on.

@@bondgabebond4907Very well spoken!
This is why we love your channel mate. Zero bullshit, full transparency! (long term Fuji user here).
I’m a canon shooter. Couldn’t care less about what brand you use. Love your work. Keep it up. I’ve learn so much from you regardless of the camera.
I blame Popsys 😂
Seriously though, you’re a top bloke, no matter what you’re shooting or what you’re shooting it with and it’s evident here that we’ll all be watching as you grow with the new gear.
When Roman Fox leaves Fuji you know Fuji f***ed up 😂😂😂
I hope Fuji watches your videos and gear up their camera systems !
I genuinely don't think they care that much
They don’t care, that’s why they’re never growing like what other brands are doing…
One of the first ones I followed might I add since then lol
Unfortunately the long going autofocus issues got to me and the low light capabilities were limited.
Just ignore those immature people. Use whatever works for you or you’re happy with.
I fully agree with everything you said. Good luck with Sony. Im still within Fuji but looking elsewhere.
11:30 no issues at all brother!❤ Pls do whatever you need to do to grow. Never have any problems with that. Proud of you and stay blessed and happy.
Congrats to you on the next chapter! It’s the best ride in the world.
I couldn’t care less about the gear you use. I mostly love your simple and relatable approach to photography. Keep going and good luck with Sony!
I found you because of Fujifilm but I stayed to learn about photography. Keep up the great work and thanks for helping me and the rest of us.
I’m not a pro photographer and I use both Sony and Fujifilm. I like using both. Use what you want. Change is good.
I ditched Fuji for Nikon and now very happy with my Z9 & ZF plus a handful (5) of very sweet S line lenses 😃
Love the honesty. It is definitely a great business move, and that alone is a respectful reason.
I will continue to enjoy the quality and content of your videos regardless of which camera brands you may be using. Keep up the good work.
No matter what gear you use, I enjoy watching your video's and I admire the pictures you show in your video's
I started with photography in 2008 and thanks to you I learned about layering, using colors and framing my photo's in an other way than I did for all those years.
Thanks for that Roman
You're an amazing photographer who shares a lot value with this community, that's all that matters.
Pretty incredible move to switch off Adsense to reinforce the your point that it’s not about clicks.
Congrats! Never easy to change systems, excited for what you produce in the future
Tbh, I can’t believe that people get upset about that…
I am a fuji user, but I watch your content because I consider it the most interesting and inspiring.
Very excited for this chapter of your photography journey, thanks for having us all along for the ride!
Doesn't matter to me what camera or brand you use Roman....you just be you, a great photographer
Pretty much every photographer switches systems at some point. Don't get stressed out about it. I subscribe because I enjoy the stuff you make.
I appreciate your honesty and I totally respect your decision. I’m a Canon user and I’ve been following you for your work and not for the gears you are using. I also agree that switching platform can be beneficial for your growth as a photographer and as well for your business.
A pragmatic and well-reasoned video. Looking forward to seeing your future work. Good for you!
Keep it going! The content you produce is what matters not the brands you use for it.
I love Fuji but have considered switching over Nikon Z6iii. With its features around $2200 - 2300 on sale hard to stay with Fuji.
Chill Fuji boys, it’s just a brand name 🫣
I don't think people are upset bc of brand loyalty. It's just nice seeing someone using the same gear as you, especially when there aren't many in the market. It helps provide context as to what your gear is capable of
When James Popsys switched to Sony I realized there's almost nobody that I was able to relate to anymore in the MFT community.
@@nickguzman1734I watch a tonne of “MFT” channels despite never owning one.
“They just make tools that I use.” So true.
I love Fuji, but If I could afford it, I'd change in a heartbeat. Well, I'd keep a couple in my closet of course.
I'm also considering switching from my Fuji X-S 10 to Nikon Zf. Do you miss the film simulations?
nikon zf and fuji xt30ii is my combo!
I found you because of Fuji. I followed you because of your photography.
