The first time I saw the lights was in 93 and I waas absolutely blown away by them. Since then they seem to have gone down hill each year. I went to BP last year to see the lights and was bitterly disappointed with them ... wouldn't bother making a trip up to see them nowadays ...in fact half of BP look closed down - full stop.
I love Blackpool and the illuminations. I'm going down on Monday with my brother for our annual trip. We've been going every year for the last year's. Pleasure beach during the day and the lights at night...
You made my memories alive.I been there 5 years ago at that time their was only old tram now their is new tram .1st of sep lighting festival starts this is amazing i love it old tower; monorail fish& chips shops on sea moving blackpool eye paradise hotel coffee shop on cross road Ha i remamber it. beautiful & amazing work had been done when i was their .thanks friend you make me abb.happy.
My husband and daughter spent a few days in Blackpool at the end of August and were at the ride the lights. Can't see them on this video though, too crowded! They had a great holiday.
Hi! I'm would like to use some clips of this video for a university project I'm currently working on, if this is something I could do please reply!! Thanks :)
I’m off to Blackpool in October for a week and when I go there gonna be a illumination tram parade and I’m going to be in it cause we booked tickets to ride in the parade I can’t wait 😻❤️
Hoping to go catch the lights this year but i wont be going to the pleasure beach i am not paying toget in just to walk around which is sad really always was one of my main attractions of Blackpool and i am sure many more people feel the same way now.
This video brought back a lot of happy memories of my visit in 2009 with someone at that time who was my world....the illuminations were better back then definitely, but this video made me smile seeing places I recognised, well done on a great video 👍🏻
Blackpool needs to do something about the illumination. They need to be brighter. The best thing about the illuminations is the light up tram as a train. They need more of the illumiated trams to brighten up Blackpool.
Just got back from Blackpool yesterday. The last time I was there was 30 years ago. My god... I couldn't believe the change. So run down and neglected. Honestly sad to see a place that gave me so many happy childhood memories, in the state it is now.
Yes The council.spend wiselybTjey need to.rethink.the seafront without taking morecoutbof the day trip Visitor like NOW having to.pay £6 Per head just to.get yourself in the pleasure beach even b4 you spend £25 Plus on ridesc and take money that never gets put into.the look.of the battered seafront.though it's a slow improvement on my last trek in 1996 .
i'm 69 yo now and have been to Blackpool many times. What is puzzling me is the lack of cars on the road and loads of bikes. Is there certain times where they are not allowed?
I was in Blackpool from the 3rd till the 7th of September this year, I just got back home on Friday. It was so disappointing, if it wasn't for the Scottish people that was there it would have been completely empty, even our hotel only had Scotts staying there. There was not one live show anywhere to be found, the hotels seem to put their own entertainment on. I've put a picture on to prove how empty it was. There's no facility for me to put up a photo so you'll just have to believe me that it was completely deserted.
AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT THINKS THE LIGHTS WERE BETTER IN THE LATE 80S these modern array of lights just dont do it, you mights say giant plastic animals and Disney charctores that light up is old fashioned but they were big bold and magical half these lights are at best a joke.
Barclay James McGill Ride the lights is an annual event, think once the illuminations are on they close off the promenade for the bikes, and they have a ride around the pleasure beach when closed too xxx
The lights in 80s were better. From a viewers point of view.of course they were lit by bulbs.now its all LED. Sadly led doesnt have the impact.but its far cheaper to run..electric usage must be phenominal. Costs are all important consideration...but bulbs are far better for impact...
Would love to say I enjoyed Blackpool last week with my daughter.....but I just can't. Sorry but it's outdated. If only the council done something about the tramps it might be half decent. Every 10 minutes walking from north pier to south pier you had a tramp asking for money. Taking liberties! If the council want people to visit and pump money into it they need to do something about the tramps. Didn't see any down in Lytham at Anne's....why is that?
The only way to get the tomorrow but I'ma be there at the same time and consideration and I look and see you guys again for all your help steacy is my key woker
Thomas Jackson Blackpool is a strange place not being from there I went down in June for the week. And their fancy beach etc that they’ve spent so much money on. I actually mobbed at the beach and my boyfriend was attacked would have loved to see the little tramps faces when they noticed that all they could nicked was some food and cheap beer from Sainsbury’s. Definitely won’t be back there. It’s a shame cause having heard great things about this place from friends I had such a bad experience and it really pissed me off how the council can let so many people live in poverty. In the space of 5 days when I was down 4 take aways were smashed into and like I said above I was mobbed and my partner attacked. Plus the little torags run about in groups being cheeky.
We went on the 2/9/2018 and gorra say smelt like horse poo all ar the front and 2 bloody hecking hrs to get threw then all with the charity stopping every car
Blackpool going downhill lights not as good as when I went 15 years ago and got to expensive like 34 pound each to go in madam tosards what a joke ridiculous some buildings need painting looking run down
Blackpoo , more like ... its not dyeing , its dead and as been for years , needs to be dragged into new life an absolute re-vamp of everything , new ideas , needed fast
Excellent footage, nicely presented.

Great video used to go to Blackpool every 2nd year at the Glasgow fair with the parents. Loved it love Blackpool.

Thank you for putting this excellent video on, certainly brought back memories of when my wife and I used to go to Blackpool years ago.

Was on holiday last week in Blackpool & had another great time. Weather was nice & our hotel, the royal seabank was superb!
My husband and daughter spent a few days in Blackpool at the end of August and were at the ride the lights. Can't see them on this video though, too crowded! They had a great holiday.
i love the heritage trams i wish they put them back on full services

It's FAB !!!!!
Does anyone know how to book the light up train? Online I can only see the tram tours?
Many Thanks
Heading down on 28th for a few days
Happy to report that I've been there to experience this!

Hi, what camera was used?, the picture quality is awesome!
To film the footage everything was filmed off my iPhone 11 Pro Max which is very good in the dark too
Nice video... thanks for posting 👍
love blackpool going on 30th Sept cannot wait
Beautiful. I missed the lights when I was there last year.
I went to go see the lights and I walked all the way through them. My feet hurt but it was worth it in the end. :) So beautiful
this is just awesome i realy enjoyed watching it thank you
Watching this laid on my bed in my blackpool hotel room, iluminations seam much better this year
Good video, captured the atmosphere well xxx

Love them blackpool trams old are ace blackpool rocks
I missed the illusions by a few hours, didn't know they were on until I was there and it was too late.
Was at the Royal seabank last weekend. Had a really good time

Why so.many cyclists constantly?.
Plus tbey should but will.not.fence off with gaps the tramline as it's dangerous .
i'm 69 yo now and have been to Blackpool many times. What is puzzling me is the lack of cars on the road and loads of bikes. Is there certain times where they are not allowed?
Going in October, love it ,cant wait!!
Old blackpool trams are the best
Need to 'reiinvest with more display .lights from the North north pier to.bispham point
Is there a huge cycling
convention going on
here or is it always like this
at Blackpool ?

You are wrong mam sorry about this blunt remark.
change the world you are entitled o your opinion Sir, if you had been there on the same dates I was in sure you would have agreed with me.
What ruiens watching this is all the bikes
5;10 that little girl will remember that day and time there for the rest of her life!
The tram at point 0.50
erm, it's a bit erm, pink,
isn't it !!!!!

Michael Brandon yep....80’s were better xxx
Blackpool was better in the 8o's just a stag and hen resort now
Went to Blackpool in the 60's and 70's for the lights and was always amazed by them.
Bulbs far superior to LEDs
What's with all the cyclists, I hardly saw a car on the front.
I can't believe you have to pay to simply walk around the Pleasure Beach! It used to be free :-(
It's because kids were going on there an not going on rides just kept messing about that's why you now have to pay to go in there
What’s with all the bikes?
Barclay James McGill Ride the lights is an annual event, think once the illuminations are on they close off the promenade for the bikes, and they have a ride around the pleasure beach when closed too xxx
@@laurahunter9916 pigeons weekend is the best jan 19 and 20 can not wait
bet it was mint in the 50s 60s teddy boys, rockers
Going in 2 weeks
I wish I was there with my bike.
Is it ride a bike day in Blackpool?
First day of the illuminations is normally an event called "ride the lights". They close the prom road to cars.
Didn't venture very far hmmm ? MR VIDEO MAN
blackpool not what it use to be. blackpool died the day the new trams came also use to be able to walk around pleasure beach at no cost
The pleasure beach is much better now pay per ride has gone. Blackpools getting much better imo

Thomas Jackson agree money not been spent on correct things
The only way to get the tomorrow but I'ma be there at the same time and consideration and I look and see you guys again for all your help steacy is my key woker
Thanks for everything you do for me and the girls and
Thanks for the update on the status of the day so

I live in blackpool
Why do people keep riding up the tracks.Traffic free not tram free🙈🤦♂️.
Always happens pedestrians walk on there as well hence the reason the trams ring the bells on the approach to warn people to move out the way
We went on the 2/9/2018 and gorra say smelt like horse poo all ar the front and 2 bloody hecking hrs to get threw then all with the charity stopping every car
Why all the bikes? Has Blackpool turned in a law breaking Psychopathic cyclist town now?
Hi
luv blackpool so many happy memorys but don't like the modern trams
Wonder how many of them bikes are legit.
Blackpool. Get yourself in Ma Kellys or the Happy Scots Bar LOL
Olivia
Blackpool going downhill lights not as good as when I went 15 years ago and got to expensive like 34 pound each to go in madam tosards what a joke ridiculous some buildings need painting looking run down
Hey do you know why there are like
1000000000000 cyclists and 0 cars
Green environment day to.cut pollution I think.
Ride the lights
What’s with all the bikes don’t people know how to walk anymore!
It's a huge distance from one end to the other. Not everyone's got all day like the retired often do.
Picnicl That’s the whole point of it plus there’s Trams if you’re knackered
Young people like to get some exercise (without it taking too long) so that they don't end up like the many obese pensioners of this land.
Ok that's it, i've had enough and i can't go on! 13:12
Blackpoo , more like ... its not dyeing , its dead and as been for years , needs to be dragged into new life an absolute re-vamp of everything , new ideas , needed fast
old and dated
