Playmat tube is something I’ve been needing to get. I just use solid color playmats for that ease of reading my board, but I just roll it and put it in my bag, which honestly isn’t the BEST idea
I have playmats I have had since around the time I started playing (around Khans and Origins) that still are in great condition because i keep them in tubes. Definitely recommend so it’s easier to store and save you from having to buy another playmat.
1. Nice voice, bro! 2. I can tell you're a kind soul that likes to be of help if needed. 3. Good info. And finally, I subscribed and liked the video because you deserve it. Stay true, stay you!
If you’re going for premium, I’d recommend making sure you get a playmat with stitched edges. The stitching will significantly prolong the life of the mat and keep the fabric from peeling off the rubber bottom. You can get stitched mats with really cool art or do custom art from Inked Gaming. I’ve been doing that and just using the cylinder they ship in to carry them around, which works great if you don’t have a playmat tube yet.
One accessory that I love, besides the really nice amazon-found sideboard-friendly box (dual sleeved commander deck + about another 50 single sleeved cards/extra sleeves + a dice drawer) -- is micro dice. They're 10mm polyhedral dice, so I can fit like four sets into a standard 'dice drawer' size space, and being able to hand out small d20s for commander damage when we don't wanna use something like lifetap just feels nice.
Solid video, those life trackers are so nice to have. Every pod I sit at uses Life Tap which great for convenience, but having a physical tracker adds to the experience.
this channel is such a chill vibe. also, pretty sick accessorities. i also enjoy sidewinders. the playmat tube is next level thought process, lol. gamegenec makes good stuff, imo.
My most premium accessory is my dedicated lifetap phone. My old Samsung s8+ is spending retirement as the designated lifecounter. Lets everyone have their phone
Just having to skip the whole "Who is willing to put up their phone" discussion where it's obvious no one really want to do it is worth it. And you don't get the situations where the owner brings it to the toilet or need it to look up trades etc.
I just started doing woodworking, and I have ideas already written down for versions of some of these that I think will be so preem once I get them down to a science and they don't look like Great Value birdhouses.
@@KaladeshExpress squires are what I use mostly as well. I really wish they'd make a deck box similar to their star wars drop pod deck boxes without the star wars theme, they'd be perfect.
@@KaladeshExpress they are but there's no crossovers so it always seemed weird to try and use. I just like the idea of having my commander in a brick separate from the rest of the deck but no other deck boxes seem to do it well.
When it comes to the best deck boxes, I just swapped out my whole collection for Gamegenic Bastions, super compact and fit my decks which are all double sleeved. My two most expensive decks are also in their Watchtower 100+ which actually fit the bastions inside! I have a click life wheel in each of them along with some dice and counters the deck needs, the other decks have a dice bag that is always with me as well. I think Gamegenic is killing it with accessories since yhe bastion released. I prefer them to the academic, a lot less clunky in my eyes
@KaladeshExpress the combo of Bastion + Watchtower 100+ makes for a great high-end deck box for pricey decks, wouldn't trust any other box rn. Satin towers don't fit double sleeved cards well, not in sealable sleeves at least, so I'm really grateful the Bastions are so affordable
Hmm I made my own accessories like a full leather playmat and a huge leather d20 dice box. This always draws some attention when I pull out "half a cowhide" of my backpack. I also love the leather playmat more because it is single color (less risk of missplay because there are no patterns to disturb me) and the overall texture is way better than fabric.
I just bought a deck box that can hold 3k cards. So i can store all my commander decks in 1 box. Plus, it has 4 display slots. Currently, I only have 8 decks and still have a ton of space in the deck box. Threw all my dice, tokens, and life counters, even having a standard deck box in there with extra sleeves inside and some dry erase markers for the dry erase tokens.
I like my boulders and sidewinder BUT doublesleeved commader deck cant fit... Ultra pro satin tower CAN FIT easily doublesleeved and few tokens and feel more secure IMO :-)
Good tube recommendation I have a round one that is really bad because it has a top and bottom rubber lid that always falls off I might buy the hexagonal one😄
@@KaladeshExpressyou can get the sidewinder in 133+ size, they fit a double sleeved commander deck and related tokens easily. It’s what I use and they are awesome
Ngl i dont use a playmat lol Also i use my academic as a draft kit aha I got back into mtg (well properly back into) after phyrexia all will be one. And honestly i would kill for one of those click wheels. I'm honestly just thinking of pre ordering the new foundations starter set (however over priced it may be) JUST for the click wheel it comes with Also no ios version of Delver Lens makes me sad lol. I always have thoughts of cataloguing my collection. But all the scanning apps ive tried are too slow or inconsistent.
The signed playmat isn't really signed. It's just a stamp signature. Premium playmats are always cloth. I prefer the cheaper mats to the expensive ones because of the weight, and this is coming from someone with thousands of dollars into cloth mats
Bruh. Save your money and buy gamegenic bastion XL100 (clear). Boulders are trash. They don’t fit double sleeved w/o cursing. Do we really stop at one pet/blinged commander deck? Camera bag fits 5 Ultra Pro towers, but after switch, I can bring 10 decks with me instead. Do you, but save teh moneys
2:07 Yea, absolutely won't buy playmats that have too much going on at them. It sort of camoflage the cards you put on them so it all look really messy. I chose more soft pattern playmats and with distinct ZONES printed on them so you know which pieces go where at all times.
@@KaladeshExpress I hear you. Yea I just play with so many newbies so that their boardstates are a huge mess without the "parking markings" xD Love your content by the way!

I don’t even know if the rest of the video is going to be good, but that background music tells me this man has class.

@TrentOrTreat yeah I definitely recommend one, they will save your mats in the long run
I found if you have alot of Mats pvc pipeing also works well for a cheap and effective way and it's more sturdy then most

Friendly reminder a whiteboard marker writes and rubs off card sleeves perfectly

Nice job! And yeah they are FANTASTIC.
For deck boxes similar to the sidewinders there are game genic squires and sidekicks. In my opinion they're superior cause theres less failure points.
