I'm really happy to hear that all of the memorial items have been returned to the tribes. I hope that is true anyway. I'm sure the grand rapids area was much more beautiful when the tribes were living here . Thanks news 8 for the piece.
I grew up in Newaygo. My dad used to take me deep into the woods on his motorcycle to check out the mounds. We occasionally found arrowheads. One time, we found one mound that was dug up...a perfect rectangle, like it was pulled up clean in one piece. This was long ago, in the early 70's. I've always wondered what they found in there. Have a good day!

I remember that some artifacts were found while building the student housing on W Fulton in the late 1990s.
All arrowheads are points, but not all points are arrowheads.

Kind of a gloomy type of story. This guy is really educated about these mounds though…for sure!
Don’t ever give anything to the Smithsonian. You’ll never see it again.
I'd like to move to Muskegon as an Afro Indio 🏝️
Some of these I wonder if they’re older than Indians. Indiana has prehistoric mounds that were there before the Indians. Hmm 🤔
