This is really unfair! That judge didn't do well at all!! So when will YORUBAS get JUSTICE for all the atrocities that the BOROROS have done against them??!
As bad & unjust as this case may appear to be, the judge is not to blame, but the law. Judges decide based on the evidence at their disposal = as the lawyers argue before them. This means incompetent lawyers can mishandle your case, whereas a good lawyer can save your head, even if u did the crime. Judges can not ring their sentiments or what they know about d cases to bear - only what the lawyers argue. This is the paradox of the Western legal system that we are practicing: can send d innocent to jail or death, & let d criminal off.
However, there's always a political dimension to these kinds of cases. Osun State Governor (as well as the President, if it is a federal case) has the prerogative of mercy & the power to commute sentenses, or even grant unconditional clemency. Buhari's govt. (Fulani-led govts.) was probably abusing this power to free all the Fulanis arrested & never charged.
So don't cruxify d judge. Blame our lame-duck governors, emaciated Yoruba Obas, & selfish Yoruba politicians.
