"It's a Heartache" and "Total Eclipse of the Heart" are two of my favorites. I've always wondered why her voice is the way it is, and now I know. I'm glad she found a way to rebuild it and return to singing.
I was driving a taxi in 1978 and was just about finished a 12 hour shift ending at 06:00 Sunday Morning and i always cought the Country music snd Rand B station and for the first time in my life I heard Bonnie Tyler singing Its a heart ache! What a voice! Inwent out and bought the album and I had fallen in love with her! I never joined a fan club but I bought every album she put out and everyonce in a while I play them and remember the Sound and the emotion that her songs brought back as an 18 year old young man! Many Many great songs from the period of time from 1970 to 1980! Many great bands and artists even Bob Seger from the 60s Here I go turn the page!
Beautiful lady with an amazing voice,One of my all time favourites.I especially loved her singing "Tire Tracks" at Andrew Lloyd Webbers 5Oth celebration concert.
I'm glad to know my voice can heal and I might be able to sing again, maybe carry a tune. I loved singing, all my life I would sing. What do you know, Turner, and Joplin were/ and are my favorite singers. Thank you I enjoy listening to you too.
She's very friendly and humble , she lives in Portugal and can be seen walking in the streets , going to the beach and to the shops just like a local , not like some untouchable star.
Beautiful woman she looked really Unbeatable talented her acoustic solo performance is absolutely Marvelous her ownership became truly Successful went into a curiosity my favourite songs of her are I could be your hero and Total eclipse of the heart wandered why her voice the way it is changed specific more Preconception
She was here in the Philippines in 78 or 79 maybe. and she was so down to earth. She sang LIVE at STUDENT CANTEEN noontime show. And in 1983 came TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART and HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO and began the craze of EMULATING her by the locals.
I first heard her in the UK in late 70's. Love the power of her voice. Now in this docco I find that she subscribes to a host of causes similar to myine. The difference is, I can only afford to subscribe in my own small way to 8 charitable casues. ( Down from 16 when I was working ) PS Bought your music when I lived in the UK. Thank you for your contributions to the music industry and great causes. PS Hope my wife does see this but Bonnie is a beautiful lady.
So sorry to hear about the baby problems. My late sister had her son at 39/40, but an emergency Cesarean saved both. On a positive note, I have adored her from afar.
As Bruce Lee once said 'Be water my friend', meaning when you poor water into a pot, it becomes the pot, poor water into a glass it becomes the glass. When Bonnie sings, she is like water, she becomes the song, she sings the song with all her heart and soul, she sings with clarity, singing with her own beautiful tone, and breath control, she checks all the boxes. So Bonnie 'be water my friend'.
I love Bonnie Tyler! She is a beautiful woman, with a beautiful voice! She should have been a lot bigger success, and would have been if not for the trouble her label brought to her. Teaming up with Jim Steinman was always a good idea. Meat Loaf was a huge success recording the songs that Jim wrote. As a matter of fact, Meat Loaf was upset that Jim gave 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart' to Bonnie Tyler instead of giving it to him. Jim was right though; it was Bonnie's song without a doubt. Love You, Bonnie!
Bonny Tyler was truly a warrior, body, mind and spirit. And also a true source of kindness. And none of that orchestrated. Total Eclipse will always be an ode to both the roughest & kindest parts of many failed or failing once great romances. If you have been there that song will always touch your hesrt. Deeply. 14:43 - Dan It does not matter what you think you know. Few escape this entirely
'Total Eclipse' is an OUTSTANDING song sung by one of the most stunningly beautiful women in rock - the video - Like Bonnie - is mindblowingly dynamic. Following her as she runs through huge haunted rooms filled with ghosts. If you havent heard it listen to her singing 'Making love Out of nothing at all' by Jim steinman OMG it blows the roof off - simply magnificent - simply BONNIE...............❤❤❤❤❤💫
On its release “Total Eclipse of the Heart” became the favourite of a girl I had just started dating. It wasn’t long before I realised that she liked it so much because she still pined for her previous boyfriend. Needless to say I didn’t hang around for long.
,Binnie is iconic in so many ways.....truly a beautiful woman with an amazing voice.....you only come accross such combination once in a lifetime.....❤❤ Please let's have a look at Tanita Tikaram another songwriter singer with an equally unique voice and talent......thank you
I met her on her South African tour....in the Kruger Narional Park and she tried to convince me she was Debbie Gibson from Wales.....until the barman played Lost in France......well I have been in luv ever since....and still have dreams about that evening that went on till breakfast. Tanita Tikaram has an equally unique voice an her music is poetry.... one of my fav singers by far
17:59 I actually had the Sony TA-70 amp AND the Sony ST-70 tuner. There's NO doubt that I heard Bonnie on this combo! (I believe these are RARE in the US now,)
I was a day old when I learned that my first Bonnie Tyler song, If You Were A Woman, is a sibling to my other fave song, You Give Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi. Amazing woman.
So that's why there were periods when I doubted that Lost In France was by the same singer. It's A Heartbreak being post-operation fitted in with her Steinman era voice but Lost In France always felt like an outlier. I never knew why until today.
very impressive indeed . a great inspiration for the new age kids. Total eclipse of the heart was mind-blowing, a classic song. Her vocal talent remains unparalleled.

The vocals were special, the song was terrible, bombastic, silly, pompous.... In the same basket as Foreigner's I want to know what love is. A basket I label as "Rubbish", but well, hundreds of thousands of bleeding Irish or non Irish hearts don't.

Same.
I have always loved her voice and songs. I'm glad to hear that she invested well (so many entertainers don't) and that she is happy and living well.
Thanks very much for your informative video! “It’s a heartache” is my all time favorite!
She has the greatest voice , I always loved “ Total Eclipse of the Heart “ . My favorite.

Loved her voice. I like unique.
I've loved Bonnie since I first heard "Its a Heartache"
She's a wonderful lady💖
She was outstanding. Watching from COLOMBIA, SA
So glad she shut up the crowd. Don’t mess with a tough girl.
"It's A Heartache" (1977) made me "fall in love" with Bonnie, I was 15. NO REGRETS, I was right THEN.
I'm glad to know my voice can heal and I might be able to sing again, maybe carry a tune. I loved singing, all my life I would sing. What do you know, Turner, and Joplin were/ and are my favorite singers. Thank you I enjoy listening to you too.

Great singer with a unique voice,and beautiful too.Great hairstyle❤️☹️!
I don't think she became big until after her throat surgery. It gave her a gravely voice that was unique. And Jim Steinmann came onboard.
Great job. She was new to me, believe it or not. I'm 80.) Wed. Jan 1, 2025. Missouri.

Love. Her voice & songes
Always loved her voice and songs.
Excellent! Even though Bond-less, I love her music. 🤸✨🎉 You go girl.
saw her the other day on DIY SOS on english telly

I really wish she'd been Meat's duet partner in I'd Do Anything For Love.
My favorite song of hers is "Straight From The Heart" . . . The perfect song with her voice.
One of the few stable music stars. No affairs, scores of divorces etc. I like her.
Love Bonnie Tyler seriously underrated
What version Bible has the names Bonnie and Tyler in it?
On its release “Total Eclipse of the Heart” became the favourite of a girl I had just started dating. It wasn’t long before I realised that she liked it so much because she still pined for her previous boyfriend. Needless to say I didn’t hang around for long.
loved her as a singer
ONE OF THE GREATS OF THE GREATS !

You forgot one of her early hits, “It’s a Heartache”
They skip that one? No way!
They mentioned IT'S A HEARTACHE
5:22
@14:42 it's a heartache.
I was a day old when I learned that my first Bonnie Tyler song, If You Were A Woman, is a sibling to my other fave song, You Give Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi. Amazing woman.
She is a wonderful musician.
She also recorded the original version of Simply the Best. (Known as the best)
I would have loved hearing her sing Betty Davis Eyes by Kim Karnes ❤
A total eclipse of the heart
The melody of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" was recently used in a Downy rinse and Refresh spot.
Great song, how could it not be! "Recycled" in the musical "Tanz der Vampire" and sill wonderful, in German or Polish.
My favorite song of Bonnie's is My Guns Are Loaded, first heard it at 13.
I had the same operation, called *singer's nodes*.
So that's why there were periods when I doubted that Lost In France was by the same singer. It's A Heartbreak being post-operation fitted in with her Steinman era voice but Lost In France always felt like an outlier. I never knew why until today.
The first time I heard her sing I thought she was Rod Stewart.
My favorite song from her friend s If I sing you a love song!
very impressive indeed . a great inspiration for the new age kids. Total eclipse of the heart was mind-blowing, a classic song. Her vocal talent remains unparalleled.
Thanks
Definitely the female Rod Stewart. Too bad she didnt have more good songs come her way to showcase that special voice.
THE LATE GREAT JIM STEINMAN ONLY WROTE FOR GREAT VOICES! SURPRISED HE NEVER WROTE OR RECORDED WITH STEVE PERRY!
1:52 That's not Bonnie, but I'm happy the shot is in the video.
Not just a fantastic singer, also a fantastic human being!
Love Bonnie...
Glyndwr is pronounced " Glin-DOWER" - a wonderful Welsh name, boyo!
I guess that depends which part of Wales you live, I say it as Glin - dooer.
great presentation.

Bette Davis Eyes was not Bonnie Tyler. It was Kim Carnes.

Dam it’s a great song 😊
Ok, excellent.
Always thought she was great.
. Nodules on the vocal chords serious occupational hazzard
CR7 favorito song
Crying because her voice was ruined. Wow, that was the luckiest thing that happened to her.
Total eclipse of the heart is 1,heartbreak. .
LOVE HER, I NEED A HERO
How about David Copperfield?
She was great singer!??
Informative, but needs updating. More albums have been released and a new single out Jan 2025
Should have been Rod Stewart's sister.
THATSssd. Ive always wondered ehst hapoened to her ive lover her mudice, had no udea she lodt her voice to surgery.
siuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Neither "Bonnie" nor "Tyler" are found in the King James bible.
The vocals were special, the song was terrible, bombastic, silly, pompous.... In the same basket as Foreigner's I want to know what love is. A basket I label as "Rubbish", but well, hundreds of thousands of bleeding Irish or non Irish hearts don't.
She was referred to as “The female Rod Stewart” by some.
THAT CHEATING HUSBAND OF HERS BETTER HAVE A JOB And HIS OWN MONEY!!!!!😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
It could have easily been a Meatloaf song.
Her husband didn't want to lose his cash cow. The side piece didn't have the $$ to hang on to him.
Is Bonnie related to Mary Hopkins?
She sang a song from her at a contest.
I hated that song. The first time I heard it I threw my radio out the window!
Well, if you mimic Janis Joplin, you will get nodules.
😉
She destroyed not just her voice, die Planet too.
never heard of her or her songs here in usa !!!!
Impossible.
You should get out more.
It's A Heartache (78) & Lost In France (77) are my two favorites of hers. but she does have many more good tunes..
welsh legend
She was great but hardly one of the most famous songs ever
she was not a great beauty.
