I love the dark nature of the story, it's something you wouldn't expect considering how bright and colorful the world of gravity rush is.
MrTaeDaniel and not to mention fortnite and valorant Because I figured out it takes please 1000 years after the events of gravity Rush which is for fortnight and 2000 years after for valorant so two games set in the same universe

I think Brahman accelerated Kali's aging somehow or it's the part of her regenerating powers. So in 3 years 8 years old Kali became 20 years old Kali.
One thing I want to say, I think Kali IS still a child. Durga WAS the older sibling before being in Jirga Para Lhao. In the overture, they both sounded extremely young. And there were only THREE YEARS that passed. If Kali was little in the overture, she WOULD NOT have grown into the mid/late twenties looking girl. As well as there is a chance that Kali jumped into another world, what about her regenerative abilities?
If she didn't get dropped somewhere else for a time? What if that caused her to grow up fast? It made her a child trapped in an adult's body?
I guess her aging pretty fast is probably parts of Brahman's experiment also. Since he needs a lots of angel and it needs to be an adult. Also, the way Kali act is very childish, she's crying after losing a fight with Kat and overjoyed when she saw Cecie@Durga. I thought it was weird for an older sister to act insane when she saw her younger sister until i learnt she's a kid with adult's body

mastering the jupiter style blocking and whooping the everloving shit out of kali was quite the experience. jupiter style also punished her annoying as fuck taunts as she blocks your attacks, since the 3rd strike stunlocks her as she does that bitch ass giggle.

Thanks a lot for making this video! Even though I've seen everything in the series I had kinda forgotten tiny details just cause I was so absorbed by stuff at the time, for example that you do see Kali and Durga in that short anime, or that Kali was after a briefcase containing a crystal during that Endestria mission........ I definitely finished the game with more questions than answers regarding this trio and I think their arc is one of the most interesting....
Unfortunately (or thankfully) a lot of stuff in Gravity Rush is kinda just explained using "gravity" as a deus ex machina that can kinda do anything you want.... so how did Cecie get on Banga BEFORE Kat got there if they were both sent through a rift? Was time distorted by the rift? The only way it makes sense to me is if Durga and Kali have been experimented on in ways that allows them to transform into an older more powerful version of themselves, which is what happens to Cecie later in the game, so you'd assume Cecie is the "real" Durga simply in her original form. That would mean that Kali is also much younger than she looks and is simply always in her transformed state. But then I don't know how to explain Cecie's appearance on Banga prior to Kat getting there if they were both on Neu Hiraleon at the same time as Kat and Raven................
Man the more I think about it the less it makes sense... I hope we can have some clear answer eventually... would love to ask the writers about this
Thanks appreciate the feeback! And yeah Japanese games have a habit of having great but kinda obscure stories, and a lot of the finer points are left to interpretation. I just assumed that Cecie was thrown up into it before Kat, and time was distorted. We've seen time going at different paces before, but yeah that would require us to basically just say "Gravity did it". I wouldn't bet on getting any proper answers from story writers though :P
I loved the interpretation in this video. I’d love to see the interpretation for Cecie too, however, this video was made 2 years ago and I haven’t seen another GR video since then qq
From what l gatter Kali and Durga are just random kids that had the power (or potential to develop) to crystalize time but they aren't related to Brahman, if they were his daughters why would he trap them in new hirauleon? l think your interpretation is the correct one and Brahman's daughter is a completely different person, now, what l don't understand is how did Durga turned into Cecie, or was it the other way around? also, could they be from Eto and maybe the genome is only present in people from Eto?

I think Brahman was kidnapping the orphans to find a child who had the Angel Genome. The Angel Genome being a rare genetic mutation that can be exploited with his crystal to transform a normal human into one of his superpowered Angels. The reason he wanted Durga so much is because Kali had the genome and since the two are blood related, the likelyhood of Durga having the genome as well is extremely high, if not certain. (obviously as we see, she does). The orphan bodies are the children that didn't have the genome. He either just disposed of them to make sure they couldn't escape and rat him out, or he used them in time experiments. "Find the genome" could have meant "find out which one of you can become an angel"
As for the aging, I think it's safe to say that the gravity storm made time pass differently. Kali and Durga were able to age up, Kat was able to miss 3 years in Hekseville without aging, etc.
I'd put Kat at around 18-20, Durga at 17-19, and Kali at 22-25 as of GR2

the wiki explanation sounds whack, as for the genome I also have no clue. I'm still curious what the crystal was about is that what he needs to make an angle?
Yeah, I assume the crystal is related to creating angels, though Kali mentions an Angel Egg earlier on. It's possible that those crystals are actually "Angel Eggs" though. What I'd like to know too is why the rebels stole it specifically.
I think the "angel eggs" and "genome" are actually part of the crystal that imprisons Elektricitie, brought by the "darkness" Dr. Brahman mentions as inspiration and that later on takes over Neu Hyraleon and merges King Cai with his guardian.
What about Brahman is Ravens dlc in gravity rush 2?

WEVE LOST ONE OF TWO GRAVITY SHIFTERS. DONT KILL RAVEN
At the end of the epilogue, after chasing some meows, Raven turns around in shock and goes "K-!". And at the end of the credits, after showing all the photographs you had taken throughout the game, it shows a final one next to the director credit that you did not take, which depicts Kat and Dusty's shadow, arguably implying Raven turned to find Kat and Dusty standing behind her.
