Its a good thing to plow out the dust before you start repairing the grinder. If a wire is damaged, the dust might hide it. This would be the first thing a motor shop would do. They might wipe it down after opening it, too.
Conclusion: To change the brushes, you only need to remove one screw. Exactly what I wanted to know, thank you and full points to Bosche for making it easy. Zero points to Morphy Richards and their toaster with its funny screw heads designed to make it difficult.
