Eren was given no choice, he had to destroy the world or the world will destroy paradise, as seen from the previous loop. they tried diplomacy, it all failed, paradise island got conquered, and turned into a slave state. They were treated like any other Eldian outside the island until the population dwindled and died.
Still can't shake off a thought that responsible for this treatment were small group of people at the top of hierarchy. He said himself the people are all alike, what stops - after his genocide - people on Paradise from dividing and the loop to continue anyway?

@@maxisaev568 maybe not reject, but accept. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of Albert Camus or the Myth of Sisyphus, it based on his philosophy called absurdism. The way to reach happiness, is to accept that the universe will kick you endlessly, but take solace in it. Knowing that despite that universal truth of hate, you can find happiness within it. I think the show takes this side, as it seems to me that it is embodies by Armin. Armin does not reinforce the cycle of hatred but he doesn’t run from it either. Eren tries to end the cycle, while Armin tries to find resolution and peace within it.
@@maxisaev568 my point was that despite eren rejecting the cycle. Violence doesn’t stop. The cycle of hatred keeps churning even with 80% of human life destroyed. So rejecting the cycle was ultimately pointless, in the pursuit of ending the wars.
