Only had my lexmoto Valencia 125cc six weeks and after 2 weeks it just would not start. Fitted new spark plug, fuel pump, fuel filter, stripped and cleaned carb - but nothing!!! Came across this video this morning, followed it exactly and an hour later it started instantly!!! In fact it has never run so well. So to the guy who posted this video, in my eyes, you are an absolute genius, thank you so much.
I own a Honda 125 scooter and it seems to have a Chinese made engine. The motor became underpowered especially when going up a steep incline. The scooter is a little over one year old, it has a little over 4000 miles on the engine and I have never had the valves adjusted. Do you think that could be the problem?
A valve lifter is a tappet this engine does not have tappets it is rocker lesh adjuster overhead cam. If loose it makes a tapping sound clicking sound.
If you're too tight you'll lose "compression hump" felt in the kicker roll. An engine with non-sealing valves often pop or backfire. NEVER run an engine popping. Backfire : (intake or exhaust) is an explosion Outside the chamber. An Unsealed Chamber Is Being Ignited & the explosion is taking the path of least resistance. Usually caused by a Burned Valve Seats , Open valves seats / tight valve clearances , or a blown headgasket. Popping is : LEAN (Too much Oxygen) and will lead to burned / torched valve seat faces and head gaskets. Allways "err" torwards Loose when setting valve clearances. ...that way, atleast you know the valve has had enough time to come up & close completely against the head. Being too loose with valve gaps is not as bad as being too tight. Too tight, torches damage quick. Same with carburetor fuel setting : err loose, rich, cool, lubricated, & sealed. Not screwed in tip top rpm, just a notch less & then clean it up after with the air screw
@@noneshere what should be the best valve range for gy6 50-80cc. I have a pocket knife of 0.05-0.10 mm millimeters...... it's going in shape. how should I do?
I have the same problem with a GY6 scooter : the pressure is good : when it touches the ground it shuts off .. the piston and rings are new , the cylinder gasket is manualy made in cars gaskets maker workshop it is made of klingrit 1.2mm thickness mixed with metal , because I could not find the original cylinder head gasket which has two rubber paint on it and not totaly metalic ... what happens is that : it works for one month very good , but the valves cover vent is pushing oil out to the tube which is going to the air filter ... then after one month it started to get black smoke and shuts off when the rear wheel touches the ground or press brake lever and make black smoke from the muffler , I do not know how the oil goes to there to the piston ??? no problem with the pressure and it works at idle on stand, as why the valve cover vent brings oil out ??? I have seen many people are suffering of the same problem but no one could tell where is the problem ?? 1-when i go to adjust timing chain big hole and two small holes on the sides : ( I noted that the drive chain is a little streetched so one of the side holes is a little advanced of the other side hole , there is no way to adjust better than it : so I had to accept this result . who can help ??? everything is new and professionaly installed as I am a mechanic but this problem is new for me ..
It is a bit , if not very, confusing what he says about the feeler gauge numbers. He speaks about 3, 4 and 5 thousands....but says something about "metric" sizes. For someone that is NOT familiar with feeler gauges, it could be easily confusing. To expound on this, .003 it inches. .004 is inches, .005 is inches. In metric language it is ALL different. So, anyone that is a "newby" to doing valves must be VERY careful not to get confused. This is a nice video, however some folks may well be baffled by the apparent confusion as spoken. Be very careful NOT to get confused in the realm of metric vs standard measurements.
i have a 150 gy6 and i have fire on my stator wires and my pickup wire and I got power on my coil wires but when I hook it up to my call my wire my fight my wires on my coil wire quickfire so could you please tell me what wrong with it you can email me at raymondwayneblackwell72@gmail thank you
Oh Oh One is One Thousandth of an inch.....Oh Oh two is two thousandths of an inch....You can use a metric conversion chart if you want to convert it to millimeters (mm). This gentleman needs to be more concise in what he says.

I always adjust the valves with the opposite valve open!

Whats the best metric lash? 0.004? What happens if you go smaller or bigger

how should I do?
i have a 110cc honda scooter... should i also use 4000 for the intake and 6000 for the exhaust? thanks
How many mm inlet and exhaust, for gy6 80 cc.
Loss of compression from being too loose as well. It won't open the valve far enough to get enough air to compress.

does EGR affect compression?
Is that a roller rocker arm?
My honda spacy bik a 100cc engine a gasoline jacuzzi . What is the feler mumber for the gasoline jacog and the number for the exhaust jacog in mm
Are you supposed to rotate the cam when adjusting the tapets? When I have it at top dead center, there is so much slack on both
No you do not rotate
Magneto has a "T" mark, thats your timing setting.
What kind of oil dip stick is that?

what's a good brand for valve spring replacement or are the stock replacement adequate? I have a stock 150cc on a buggy.
zone Zone
Just run stock springs.
Harder springs can disable your electric starter by binding up against the increased pressure.
What adjustments do it need for 64mm valve. 4 amd 6? Or lower
Stock 150 is 57.4mm piston.
Valve clearance is .8-.12mm.
I usually run 9mm on intake, 10mm on exhaust.
Can't find the garage talk or FB page what's up?
Where is your shop located at
How about Japan scooter
Hi i have a kymco mxu 150 is it the same engine on it ? thanks

That is not a metric feeler-gauge... Just weird stupid numbers and the equivalent in mm.
