Part of the reason they're "taking their time" as it were with getting back down to rescue her is that the reason why they failed to defeat the dragon in the first place is because they were exhausted and under-nourished. If they're going to save his sister (with a smaller party no less) they're going to do it well-rested and on a full stomach, to maximise their chance of success. That's why they're not burning the candle at both ends to get down there. And they have a relatively generous timeframe in which to do it too.
Nerdy's point was less that they're taking their time and more that they seemed so unbothered by her possible death (which is because she can be resurrected, he just didn't catch that part)

This show is so much fun and very clever, its changed how I look at monsters in Dungeons. Also if you want to see a cute fun Cooking anime, look up "Campfire Cooking in Another world with My Absurd Skill"

Oh shit you are watching the dub? Its a pretty damn good dub, also Marcelle is voiced by Emily Rudd , who played Nami in live action One Piece, she does a great job for her first VA gig here.
Also, Senshi is voiced by ProZD
Im subgang but this dub is servicable. Its a very charming anime either way but the dub isnt space dandy level its good but not great.
ProZD and Emily Rudd are the reasons why I actually chose to watch this in dub first :D

@@ElykRindon07 Damien Haas was kinda the perfect cast for Laios, imo. Laios is a big guy with a heart of gold, that cares about his friends and is very geeky about monsters and loves trying new foods... That's Damien in real life. lol

The author is a huge DnD head, she did fan arts for previous Baldur's Gate games and she finished the manga just before Baldurs Gate 3 released

Its honestly crazy that they wait so long to mention that the dragon is asleep and digesting slowly. I dont think its happened in the anime yet and we are on episode, what, 6?
@@Jmerzio they mentioned reviving likr four times in ep 1 and talked about the dragons slow digestion in the same episode

The Dungeon Meshi manga is one of the tightest, most thematically coherent stories I've ever read. And the adaptation has been rad so far! I hope you enjoy and keep watching.

Well, Marcille said that getting attacked by a Slime was her first death. Hence, resurrection seems to be possible in this world. I think they're hoping to find Laios' sister's body and resurrect her because I don't think they believe that she'll be alive after all the time they need to get down to the level of the dungeon where the dragon lives.
Laios also ask if anyone had been brought back from poop.
Resurrection is indeed possible in this world but only under a set of rules
Delicious In Dungeon is why alot of anime randomly have very detailed cooking scene's in them, many started doing them 10 years ago as the Delicious In Dungeon manga was booming during its releases. You can tell how much the author thought about the monster ecosystems when she wrote this.
Yeah the first episode has a lot of tonal whiplash. But the show is super charming and I've been loving it. I will definitely keep watching if you react to these
Also they give several gratuitous up skirt shots of Senshi and the Internet has embraced him as a thirst trap dad and it is great

It's a show about cooking, but it's also a show about being very uncomfortable for a series of reasons. No, but seriously, having finished the manga and all, this gets crazy intense, and the worldbuilding is surprisingly engaging.
One thing to remember when considering how they think about death is that death and resurrection magic is something most of the party has experienced multiple times.
Dungeon Meshi has one of the best world and characters building when it comes to dnd in manga. The cultures, creatures, and lores are amazing.
So many details that have logical reasons, and the storytelling and visuals are simple and delightful. I hope you will enjoy the ride.

I had this happen with two shows today. Dungeon Denshi with Nerdy and Ranking of Kings with LM Reactions. Thankfully I have tomorrow off.

Delicious in dungeon is such a good series, i have to actively restrain myself from rereading it. Like, when the anime started airing i started re-reading trough all the volumes i own (which is all the ones currently released). I finished that a week or 2 ago and now every time i watch a new episode or see some fanart my brain goes 'oh i wanna read it again, let's read them again'. Which i have to deny myself or else i would do nothing else in my free time. This hasn't happened to me since i read 'the hobbit' when i was a kid.
And the adaptation is really solid too so far, there's some miniscule nitpicks here and there but structuraly everything is where it should be and both english and Japanse voice cast nail it imo

なので、海外の声優事務所も俳優などイメージモデルなどナレーターやMCなどの声優と幅広く部門を設けて、才能のある人を声優にというどこにでも移動させるような体制にするべきだと考えています。

Ah, Marcille. Anime 2024's punching bag. It's not Laios' kink, it's his special interest. Also, the original name of the series is Dungeon Meshi (Dungeon Food, Dungeon Meals) and everyone is up in arms that they didn't need that for the English name because it's not that hard But I like Delicious in Dungeon because of how it plays on "DnD."
the title thing is such a weird thing to complain about seeing as how it is literally what the author chose for the translation
@@lucyalthussy7172 The original subtitle for Jojo Part 4 "Diamond is Unbreakable" was instead "Diamond Is Not Crash". Just because its what the author chose doesnt always mean its best. (For the record I love the phrasing 'Delicious in Dungeon' and I even sort of like 'Diamond is not Crash', but just sayin lol)
Don't know what the views will be on this series, but I love the manga and I hope you continue the reaction series!

I have been watching this series. I think I am 2 episodes behind right now. It's crazy, but I enjoy it. The incongruous merging of dungeon tropes with a cooking show is quirky, and it works for me
Binge watched this today and it's SUCH a cute, funny anime. You can tell it was created by someone that thoroughly enjoys the fantasy genre.

same reaction, i went into it expecting a shallow anime just about turning monsters to food but the execution is so well done and the world building is amazing. The comedy is good as well.

What a pleasant surprise! As a manga reader, you are gonna have a doozy :D The wholesome cooking is definitely a large part of it, but let's just say the beginning dire straits circumstances isn't just a one off in the show ;) And the world building is STRONG. Honestly one of the most enjoyable complete storylines I've enjoyed in a long time
