Absolutely love how relatable you and your family are. So glad you didn't cut away with the kids and dogs. When I'm doing this it will be the same haha.
Thank you! Saved my mom and dad another trip over to my house. Saw my dad replace stove door gaskets a few times over the years, but never paid close attention.
Your videos are so informative! I have a Harmen Accentra and was paying someone damn near 300 bucks to service and clean the stove and the exhaust pipe. You have saved me a TON of money
Another great video, if it wasn't for you people wouldn't be able to do the jobs on their own. Can't thank you enough for helping everyone save on repairs
sure if you'll see this any time soon but I'm planning to change out my gasket this week. Had my p43 for about seven years going on eight. I do read the manual all the time my wife gets a little confused if I'm not around and she has to figure it out . Question on the cold 🥶 air return is it critical to have it piped in I had a one inch tub cause it was there from the prior stove but I bought the three inch and I'm going to hook it up this week too. Thank you 😊 for the time you put into doing these videos 📹. I'm one that if I can do the work without messing up and don't have to pay the high cost I'll do it but I look up and see how others do it , again Thank You ..
Great video Jim. A tip that helps to cure the sealant is to run a hair dryer on low over the gasket, not directly on the gasket for too long. Putting the hair dryer on high and hitting the door from the other side helped a lot also. It warms the sealant and allows it to soak in to the gasket. Jim, got a question for ya, I may have to shim the hinge pins. It seems that the pins have gotten a little worn and the door has to be lifted about 1/4" when closing. I'm thinking the OD pin shim would return the pin to it's 3/8 size hopefully. I don't really have to work with real close tolerances, it seems that the best fit is always best. Thanks again, ROB.
@@DIYJIM Ive been watching some of your videos. Thanks for making them already learned some stuff and my stove his new seal is working out great. Keep up the food work. Gr from Belgium.
Is there a difference between the gasket used for woodburning stoves and oil burning stoves? Can i use gaskets made for wood burning stoves, for an oil burning stoves?
Imperial Manufacturing ( a Canadian company, importing from china) is probably including a sodium silicate cement. It dries quicker than high temp silicone.
I put a link in the description for a 3/8 " gasket that you can buy on Amazon. If you need a different size just click on that link and search for your size. Hope this helps you out.

The cold air is 100% a good idea. Your stove will be much more efficient. Maybe I’ll make a quick video explaining this.
