But I play a Strat great concert in Pittsburgh will be falling g down on my knees in 8 days at the Crossroads Festival thanking 🙏 and Eric I got to finally make it ❤ Forever Fan ♥
I almost feel like i'm watching a rehearsal. Very bare bones stage and lights. I guess this version of "Crossroads" is ok....but lets face it...all Clapton fans measure versions of "Crossroads" by the original live Cream version which was brilliant and blistering with energy and some of the best spontaneous guitar leads Clapton ever did. And I mean EVER. This version is very low key and uninspiring. Oh well..the man is 80...so I guess we give him a pass.
He's 78 and played it this way since the 80s. He only ever played like the Wheels of fire version for about 6 months in cream. I'd love him to rock it out like that one day. But it's not because of age that he doesn't. He never has since cream finished. This is a pretty good version actually but I just wish he didnt bother playing this one unless he plays it like cream
Well of course I know Clapton is almost 80. But I saw him in the 90's for the Journeyman tour and he did blistering electric guitar versions of songs like Layla...Crossroads and Cocaine. He had long hair, looked great, had swagger..and might have even still been doing cocaine. Glad I have that memory of him. Even though the unplugged album was a big seller...for me he's been slowly going downhill in all aspects since then. Guitar playing...live shows...appearance....and just general attitude. I'm 66 so I've grown up listening to all the phases of Clapton. Love a lot of his music but Cream and the Layla album were his peak I think...although Slowhand is right up there too.Oh well...at least we'll always have the albums to listen to.@@jbawn

Mr Johnson will be happy ! MV
Everything sounds better with Gibson
Can’t say I entirely disagree, but he got a great Cream tone out of his Strats for the 2005 reunion, no?

Sonny Emory
Slowhand ain't slowed down
No more Steve gadd drumming in his band

Good riddance to the Strat. Gibson sounds better.
