I thought the Scheps channel plug in was great before but I didn't realise how much more was hidden behind expanding panels and shortcut keys. This video has completely opened my eyes to new ways of working with this tool. Thank you!
The omni channel is by far the best channel plugin i've used. the preamp is something you will use 99% of the time, the eq section is so fine-tuned that sometimes you will not even need to change frequencies, just boost or cut at the predetermined ones, it never sounds harsh, it is so lush, and a selection of an 1176, la2a and an ssl bus comp, plus a limiter, sidechanid filters for everything, a couple of deessers. I mean you can seriously cut down on costs, just by byuing this plugin. It is so well made!
Being around Huart seems like a bit of an all-around soul-crusher for Scheps. The unspoken pain on his face when Huart says, “...on the You of Tube...” 😂😂😂
This has been by far one of my most used plugins since I bought it and I don't remember how long ago that was, but it's a plugin that I think is one of the first ones that anyone setting up a new studio (home or otherwise) should buy. I have recorded as a guitarist in pro studios over the decades and always watched the engineers and asked questions, but I don't have pro level audio engineering knowledge and experience that these guys have. However, having this plugin definitely helps me get far better results in my small home studio! Every once in a while you find a piece of gear or software that knocks your results ahead quickly and noticeably. This is one of those plugins.
The Scheps Omni Channel is probably one of the most intuitive pieces of software ever made. I'm talking all software, not just audio stuff. They should make computer science majors study it so they know what good GUI design looks like.
When the video starts with "Hello everybody, hope you are doing marvelously well", you know its Warren and you know its going to be good and informative !!
I make a living as a recording engineer and producer, and I’m wildly impressed by how much I get from your channel. Just wanted to add to the noise of ppraise for your channel.
An educational, sonic delight - thank you indeed Messrs Huart and Scheps for sharing your expertise and wisdom. The Omnichannel is my favourite plugin bar none - it would be my pick for in-the-box mixing if I was only allowed one.
Just recently learnt that Andrew mixed 'Look Away', my favorite song from Rival Sons' latest album. Absolutely amazing work! The whole album is phenomenal and pure rock bliss.
@@Producelikeapro Hey Warren, should the time come and I am more than sure it will, what plugins would you bring to the table? i bet they will be awesome. all the best, Darren.
Great video. No idea what they are doing but it's sure enjoyable to watch. Original sounded pretty good for me but that's what you pay audio engineer for - to turn good song into great one. One really need to have a good pair of speakers and ears to be able to appreciate and catch all the nuances and differences. Software is really overwhelming.
Great video - I wish Scheps would say exactly why he did everything that he did because mixing is so subjective... I hated the snare sound until he made adjustments to tone it downed warm it up ...
Obviously there are tons of different things you can do to change the sound and feel of a song. Goes to show simple is better, get the point across with simple quality. Also goes to show nothing is more important then a good song to begin with. All the great older songs had far less options and still hold up today. I mean what did they have back then? A limited eq, compressors etc.
This was such a good idea to do. This was as entertaining as it was informative. Bravo! I need to get myself a lot of alias youtube accounts so I can bump up the likes on videos such as this.
I love this plugin, thank you sheps great plugin, produce like a pro will help so many of us, produce like a pro, he keeps bring the best of the best, to keep us all in great shape ,thank you great show
@@dankenton Bahaha,... I was thinking the same thing. It stands out so much. . to assume Zep had same issue as an excuse to keep it in is insane to me. I would have taken it out by all means if its the same approach to EQ. Scoop out all the junk man.
There wasn't a real A/B comparison sadly. I have a hard time discerning a real difference between the before and after. I hear some subtle compression mainly and saturation. What am I missing?
8:00 onward by 30 sec, that pedal squonk is ridiculous. Why tolerate that? EQ scooping unwanted frequencies is important and taking out 'speed king devils' isnt??
I tried making it bigger for a modern monitor, it seems low resolution geared for murky PC monitors. For me with triple 4K monitors it looks small and grainy. I like my luxurious look, and scalable interface 50% all the way to 200%. Any plans on doing that?
To bad the sound distorts (master out recorded too hot?). Otherwise great plugin, great tutorial/rundown and great people. I like when Andrew is occasionally being very Andrew.
Get it, brother man. It’s only $45 right now. I bought it and I’ve been using it on almost every track of my mixes. You could legitimately get a mix to sound professional using only that plugin
why do the VU meters using the scheps omni channel clip everytime the kick is hit? I thought that's what we wanted to avoid. We are looking for that right volume as we feed from one plugin to another. I looked for this answer before I asked this question but all I get in my search is how a VU meter works and that's rudimentary. So many times I see people on youtube using plugins and the VU meters always slam hard in the red. I can't believe that people want that type of distortion all the time in there mixes?
Thanks for posting this! Andrew is extremely humble and very talented! The perfect combination!!
Waves Audio you Rock!!
I've been using this plugin for awhile and love it! I can't believe all the features I was missing out on!!!!
Hi Warren, did you just got rid of all the 3-4 monitors that you had? Even the LP6s?

Thanks Andrew and Waves for a great time-saver! Not just great sounding, but fun to explore.
Hi Mike Page Thanks ever so much my friend!!
I've found myself gravitating toward the Omni Channel more and more for everything. Awesome tool. One of my favorites.
Truly the Swiss Army Knife for mixing.

Casually transforms the drums in under ten minutes and makes the track a million times better 👍🏻🤘🏻
It's not very often I get to see my two favourite producers using my new favourite plugin. Thanks for taking the time to shoot this video guys!
Hi The Capsicum Kid thanks ever so much my friend!
Warren and Andrew together on Waves! I’m diggin it Andrew makes is look way too simple thanks Andrew! Thanks Warren! Love this plug-in, thanks Waves!

Got a strange deja vu feeling watching this.. Oh, yes i've seen this before over at Warren's channel. Anyway, Great video!

the pedal noise in that kick was killing me!!
Adds character.

one of my go-to plugins.. :) thanx for showing a little bit of the workflow of it´s creator.. really enjoyed this one..
That was just nuts! What a great channel strip!
I’m going to try side-chained multi band on the bass next time I mix, rather than compressing all the frequencies. Thanks Andrew!
This is the best plug Waves has made in a while. Love it!
It was great first time round, but definitely worth another look :)
Cool song !!
