Awesome shot there at Elwood! The deal with that Quadtriplet group of AC4400CWs is they were recently purchased from CEFX and are enroute to Chattanooga, Tennessee for the Engine Shops down there. Likely what is going on down there is that NS is sending them through the Shops for Maintenance Crews to clear them for road service. NS is currently in an on-going power shortage as of June 2024 which started clear back in 2017 due to PSR which resulted in them selling of 600+ units that really they should have kept but hey that's executive's for ya. NS has been buying up anything they can get since 2023 following when Allen Shaw took control following the East Palastine, Ohio disaster. They have already having purchased 50 C44-9Ws from CPKC in December of 2023 and several "Blueberry" AC4400CWs from CEFX like these ones here. A small handful of these wear CM&Q colors as they were leased by them a few years back and still retain these colors. Since none of these Dash 9s or AC4400CWs have PTC they are used as Trailing power on most trains. That's all I know on it so I hope this info helps a bit. Thanks for uploading these awesome videos and I look forward to seeing more like em!
I love Elwood Spike it seems a peaceful place until the train comes! WOW train1was awesome loved the light blue locos what a great mix with BNSF & N/S with a dpu as well! Loved it. Some cars are oblivious to trains coming when they are on a train track! Great filming of the train in Kokomo round the curve onto the main. ❤😊👍
It was the line that went to Frankfort Indiana. Not really sure why they stopped using it other than greed. The last train went through in the late 90s.
Thank you for the information. I like your videos, but the dash cam videos of that street running train scare me! Almost made me spill my coffee! Tee hee. @@therailroadtiespiker
I delivered cardboard to Timken back in 1994 that was the last time I got off 30 in Bucyrus. Lol I grew up in Massillon…. I wished the Fort Wayne line had more traffic on it.
@@therailroadtiespiker Yeah, the busy days of the Pennsy are definitely gone. That line went downhill so fast when I was a kid after Conrail took over. NS keeps pretty busy. Moved back here last fall, and I'm surprised by how busy they've been running trains through town despite only having a siding north of town and being single track north to Chatfield and south to Harvey. Interesting that you delivered cardboard to Timken in 1994. My dad was still working there at the time, and I've got several Timken boxes that I use for storage/moving.
@@chatanugadotorg I’m thinking about filming there next Monday if the weather is good. The line running north and south is the line that runs through Marion?
@@therailroadtiespiker Yes, that is NS, formerly N&W and formerly the Pennsy Sandusky line prior to N&W's merger with the Nickel Plate in 1964. The route heading northwest out of town and the Bucyrus Railcar shop tracks are the former Toledo and Ohio Central, which went into New York Central and then Penn Central. That route was abandoned in 1973, but the route northwest out of town runs out to the stone quarry, and then Bucyrus Railcar had a lot of stuff stored for repairs on their tracks and the former Ohio Locomotive Crane area on Southern and Hopley Avenue.

Thank you so much for watching
That was a great lash up and lots of power on 123,nice video and footage, like the old abandoned diamond's!🛤🚂
123 never seems to disappoint me. Lol
Thank you for the class 3 footage of the TP&W. After a while it gets tiring for me to see the same old CSX and NS class 1 action.
I’m hoping they’ll be running more we’ve been only seeing a couple trains a week. Thank you for watching
Excellent video my friends awesome like 👍🏻 and Greeting 🙋🏻♂️
Thank you so much for watching
They were going to Chattanooga saw 3972 with 8105 on 170 yesterday
BUENAS TARDES SPIKE SALUDOS DESDE URUGUAY Y LE SALUDA UN FANATICO DE LOS TRENES.
To be in Kokomo in the 60s They had a,Pennsylvania line Two Nickel Plate lines Enjoyed the video
That would have been amazing to see where I was filming was a big triangle and would have had trains all around me.
Wow
Train running on middle of the road 🚂
Yes my favorite kind of rail-fanning. Lol thank you for watching
That is crazy no signal or gates. Just the train in the middle of the street 😂
I bet there are people on that street who complain about the trains. Like you didn’t see the tracks when you moved in? Lol
Yep… thank you for watching
Maybe it's just me....But I am amazed at how fast that 1st train was haulin', considerin' it was street runnin'.
It still shocks me when you’re there in person they run 3 times faster than most street runs.
@@therailroadtiespiker
It crazy!
Could you please explain the crossing that looks like that it went straight but curves off to the right for the west bound TP&W.
The train comes in on the track that was o part of the outer belt around town then curves north right after the crossing
Actually NS bought those Locomotives last year.
Maybe they’re collecting them to repaint. I’ve been told they have most of them in Chattanooga Tennessee now.
Why did they take out the diamond, what was the crossing line and why was it disused?

@@therailroadtiespikerI will be sure to finish my coffee ☕ before I watch it. LOL 😆.
Is this line the Frankfort District in Elwood???
The first train is the second train was in Kokomo Indiana.
I've said it before. I'll bet the rails were there long before the neighborhood
In Kokomo you’re probably right but in Elwood the neighborhood was there almost 20 years before that line came through.
I know you've been to Marion, OH, but have you ever been to Bucyrus?
