"Acht" is both the Dutch and (I think) German word for eight, in Dutch you say something like ah-gt if that makes sense

Yes the German one too. But for some reason They Had To translate an already German Name To Something nonsense in the German Translation
It's easier for english speakers to think of the pronunciation like "oct" as in octopus.

The fact every UA-camr I’ve seen playing Side Order said they thought Marina was bigger than normal in her boss fight 😂

I perceived it as a projection of the machine for self defense and the real marina was tied up in the goopy bits.
Maybe it’s just perspective idk
She turned smaller i think you can see it due to the particles surrounding her
@@Greatduck777 Now that I think about it, they probably did make her bigger for this fight so you could actually tell it's her. The player looks tiny next to that blob of tentacles and machines. She'd probably be engulfed if it was her regular model.

This is possibly the first time in Splatoon where we're playing as a character who isn't technically a kid, since Eight in this game would be around 19. I noticed when Pearl said "Octoling" form instead of "Kid" form.
since I'm very hyperfixtated on the splatoon series i couldn't help but give a small detail/rant!
most splatoon youtubers seem to only know acht from the trailer of side order when infact they are the DJ from octo expansion (more commonly known as dedf1sh) who produced all the music you heard in game!
in haikara walker the Japanese art book for octo expansion they talk a bit more about how Acht and Paul from SashiMori (band in splatoon 2) both have the same logo on their hat and are both DJs and are heavily implied to of known eachother at some point.
Acht is also a sanitized octoling who was ordered to only make music for all of their time in the octarian army. this is also talked about briefly in haikara walker iirc. there's also a few fan theories that dedf1sh was sanitized during the calamari inkantation of the splatoon 2 single player mode and that's why they were able to keep so much of their consciousness but this theory is sorta ruled out at the very end of this DLC (which I won't spoiler)

Once you start hacking, the difficulty becomes almost TOO EASY! It's nice that you can disable hacks for a greater challenge and a higher reward!

Whoever made the idea for this should get a lot of credit because a gameode like this is not easy to make good and they made it good while not getting off topic
It’s a perfect blend of splatoon with a roguelike feature. As Hades is one of my favorite games ever, the similarities are 100% a perfect sign that they made it a contemporary within the genre but in an original way

Yeah and this tutorial section is like the best i've seen so far introducing roguelite system to beginners, and the amount of floors, different gamemodes, and the fact that some chips have different values for each weapon, this game would be hell to balance by the devs.

As you progress the tutorial you see items in the background showing basically a timeline of marinas life

I can't believe I already beat it this morning! it was a lot shorter than I expected, but I loved every minute of it. You can really tell how much the developers put their love into this game.
I was expecting jay to pick the ponytail for the octo since that was his S2 hair

This whole tutorial tower section is the best i've seen so far introducing roguelite system to beginners, and the whole story implemented into the roguelite gameplay is nothing i expected before it released. Just amazing the devs behind this game.

Side order was so much fun, wish there was more weapons to play with, but it's still fun none the less. Also, don't know the proper names of the enemies, but I call them Salmoils. Like Salmon and oil mixed together.
''acht'' is dutch/german, so if you wanna be close the easiest way to pronounce it is ''ah-g-t'' as the CH makes a hard g sound that english speakers for some reason cant pronounce lol
one could compare the ch sounds with a cat hissing, that's what i tell my non german friends and it helps them learn the sounds rather quickly haha

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, and maybe it was just a coincidence but I swear the boss fight at the end was attacking to the music. I love that kind of stuff and for a game like splatoon that's brilliant. I'm pretty sure the previous bosses didn't do that but they might even if I have Just missed it.

This dlc is FUN. Even using weapons I was dreading using was fun, because it lets you build them however you want, to fixing what you think a weapons downsides are to maximising a weapons strengths. I was dreading using the brush, but by the end is was god damn sonic the hedgehog, I could run forever with the brush at 200% speed because I regained enough ink by simply moving that I could literally never run out, and I could get a triple splashdown in seconds just by running in circles.

Its pronounced Aukt, German for 8, however she has been been in the series for almost 5 years now behind the DJ name "DedF1sh". She is the creator of all the level music in Octo Expansion. in Side Order it says that she was forced into it, but the actual lore books and Nintendo tweet back in 2018, says that she gave up her mind so she didnt have to listen to the people that hated her music.
Acht is non-binary. Every character refers to them with non-binary pronouns. They are not a "she".

From the day that the Splatoon 3 direct announced the paid dlc, I have been so excited, and I've had so much fun the 8 hours straight I played it last night
Having already completed the DLC with all weapon palettes and replaying the final palette with zero 'Rina hacks due to its unique quirk (not saying anything else since it's still Hyperfresh🤣), I almost got to the top this way. Those already in the know understands what I'm talking about. Awesome Roguelite, and if you don't input a single 'Rina hack (I love calling it that), you're playing it Roguelike style instead
