    Just bought the pcp version in .22. I absolutely love it. Mines shooting the H&N 21gr slugs highly accurately at 25 yards open sights. This is going to be my new pest control rifle. Really hoping to see a Garand, Mosin, G43, Arisaka, Enfield and even a 03 Springfield in a pcp soon!

    An UMEREX P-08 Luger BB Pistol would go with this rifle perfectly.

    Great idea. But lacking the bolt. Diana should have done the g43 instead.

    "authentic wwii mauser replica"? I wouldn't even consider it as a faithful reproduction.

    It needs a faux bolt handle for cosmetic purposes. Otherwise, great idea.

    Dude! I've been into firearms half my life and I never knew about the fact carbines weren't considered military arms. I second the faux bolt handle.

    • @theodurnayne3874

      Saying carbines were not considered military weapons is actually incorrect. Carbines were long used by artillery and cavalry arms of the military since the creation of shorter firelocks in the 16th century.
      The distinction came from the fact that they were classed differently, and the Versailles treaty only allowed the Germans to have carbines.
      The Gewehr 98B was Germany's answer to the Versailles treaty, and was a full length (for the time) rifle, it was defined as a carbine on a technicality.
      The adoption of a shorter rifle like the k98k came from doctrinal changes in the German military.

      @UCmopfdUxat_eFIAbvEJOy5w fair enough! It's interesting to see how carbine's were viewed in the era tho. They were understood to be defensive firearms, until the mechanized era came about.
      Milsurps are fun, tho I can understand why you're not in them anymore. It's definitely a time and money intensive hobby to aquire a genuine piece, let alone restore and maintain a piece that is so often damaged or otherwise showing its age.

  • @timothymeyer123
    @timothymeyer123 5 років тому +1

    It is a genuine GI bringback, but has commercial import marks and a Mauser banner (also commercial) Something does not add up. Looks like one Mauser sold overseas before the war, don't deny was made in 1934, but the rest of the story is sketchy

    Very cool Cameron ... what base Diana rifle are they using ??? would it be some thing like the 470 ???? I would like to see a more proper review of the rifle .... What I mean is spend some time with it on the range with different pellets and such to show its true potential as it seems to look like a great gun .... what would also be fun is to find a scope that looks period correct for it that could handle a spring gun recoil ....

    • @combatgerbil3262

      Working on it! I love this gun so I really want to do it justice. I have a full review planned for the next week, but I only had the realy K98 for a few hours so I had to get this video out fast. Ill see what I can find on the scope. I think I know where to get something that might work. Thanks for your comment!

      We're still waiting for a full production model to come in. The one we filmed with is a pre-production model. In order to give an accurate full review we'll want to wait for that.

    I don't care if it has the bolt since it would be none working but does it have the same length of pull of the real Mauser? I not sure if it was an optical effect but stock seemed shorter

  • @walkerbelle
    @walkerbelle 8 років тому +2

    Sorry but I think $400+ USD for a lever action, "single shot", caliber .177 pellet rifle is insane, even if it does look somewhat like a German Mauser. The whole bolt action assembly missing on the replica really hurts it in my opinion and that one thing alone would keep me from buying the gun. Now, if they went to all the trouble of making the bolt action assembly, even if it is only cosmetic like my Winchester M14 replica, I might spend $400+ if I truly wanted a Mauser replica however, with the entire bolt action assembly missing... it just doesn't resemble a real Mauser to me at all, sorry.

    Cool rifle and a trying knockoff yes, an authentic replica definitely not, Diana didn’t even try hard to copy it. Umarex or Gletcher should make a real replica of K98.

    Hello,
    I bought a Dina k98 (.22)
    i finaly shot it last week but, it shoots to the left up to 15 cm ! (+-30 meter distance)
    Is this "normal" ???
    #Diana quality :/
    Thanks in advance, Jan

    • @airgundepot

      Have you adjusted the rear sight at all? It might be way off which would explain it shooting that far off

    • @janfrombelgium5410
      @janfrombelgium5410 7 років тому

      I only adjust them for elevation (brought them down a bit)
      The rear sight is put all the way to the left. It was like that when i bought it

    Who had the dumbass idea to replace the bolt with that shitty rod? The only reason I would ever buy an airsoft K98 or Mosin is if I couldnt get a real one, but I would only get an airsoft version that is almost 1:1. That means that it HAS a bolt
