I found another and much older dealer that had the confidence in me to put up the money for inventory at 14% APR which was pretty high for the rates at that time
However, I would have been laughed out of a bank / traditional lender so…

I don’t have a dad, died from cancer when I was 15, and I wasn’t given anything, I’ve worked hard everyday the last 6+ years of my life. Developed light kits for trucks that kicked off and sold online very well. While selling vehicles at the same time, then getting my dealers license 2 years ago to get to where I could put a downpayment on property for my dealership to now having 20+ vehicles in inventory. I’m also a certified diesel mechanic and ran my own repair/accessories shop for a few years. All in time

If that’s true, he has gotten a handout, a huge one at that, and is pretending he built an empire off of us his back. Looked him up and his parents own a multi-million dollar car dealer and gave him a ton of inventory, and the lot, and the dealership to start. He was lucky, but he discounts how important his parents are in his life, and how that affects his perception. His failure to admit that he required help makes him seem like someone afraid to be looked down on, and forces people to look down on him.

I had to wake up 2-3 hours before school to do chores everyday and came come and did more. No allowance, no car, modest non name brand clothing and they didn't drive luxury cars. They made me find a paying job from age 14 on. I had to pay 💯 for my car and things I wanted. I went to public schools just like my sister. I had to pay for my college education too. We lived in some of the poorest countries in the world due to my father's job. Did we live better in those countries because my father had a dependable job and income? Yes, but you're comparing people in places like Rio de Janerio and Sao Paulo to an American on salary. Again, my mom would treat patients in those countries for items, no money and sometimes free. We would go to impoverished neighborhoods during the holidays and volunteer to feed them. Sometimes we would go to farms and physically install better structures and infrastructure for people's homes thanks to my father being an engineer/architect. Sorry to disappoint you.

Why are people in the comments so mad that his parents helped him in life. The job of a parent is to give what they can to their children. Most super generous parents are that way because they never had anything growing up and they want to raise their children better with more opportunities than they had.
Also it’s not like it’s up to rhe child to pick and choose their parents. Some parents have more to give to their children than others but we as their children should be thankful for everything our parents did for us whether it be monetary or not.
For example at my last job which was projected to be multibillion dollars the head/chief attorney/council member/risk and compliance officer grew up in East St. Louis which is known as a dangerous and low poverty area yet he did something with his life.
In the end who cares how much or how little parents gave you or helped you with. It’s all about using what they gave you to your advantage and making the most of it.
