You are who you are, on your own terms. Thank you for being being sincere in sharing your experiences and feelings. The most we can hope for is open communication, and if people really appreciate you and your art the will embrace whatever you choose for yourself so long as your are healthy mentally and physically and not doing harm to yourself or others. I look forward to new music and better days going forward for you on all fronts.
I can't even begin to imagine how hard it is what you are going through. Your music is incredible and many people love what you do. I showed one of your musics to my father and now he talks to me about you from time to time how much he likes your songs. Keep strong and good things will come to you.

Today 4/24/2018 I listened to an interview on WNYC the local affiliate radio station for NPR, so I searched for you here on UA-cam. You are an amazing human being. Like all of us you are sorting yourself out, unlike many of us you are doing it consciously. However you decide to be; it is all right. LOVE YOURSELF TO THE CORE!

What an amazing honor to have won, out of the thousands who entered the contest!Second, I have to say that you are a person with much courage. You could have hidden away in this de-transition, as you call it, but you took the more courageous route and shared yourself with the world. Thank you for your example of courage. Please dont quit! You have such a huge career a head of you. When I saw your tiny desk concert audition i was so blown away. Your the next big thing for sure! The whole transgender thing, coming to grips with your biology I think you called it. If that's you then it's you man. All these experiences just add to you as a whole, man, women, does not matter NAIA Izumi is who you are. I cant wait to see what happens in your future. I'm staying tuned for sure!

You look good! But please allow yourself to be as gender-nonconforming as you want. That means wearing clothes you want etc. You being a member of the male sex doesn't mean you have to "man up". Society has certain expectation how a man has to feel and what he has to do, what he has to wear etc. You don't need to fulfil these ridiculous expectations. Be your own kind of man.
wow, I first heard you because of your amazing tiny desk concert (Kudos on your win) fierce and gentle .,, beautiful combination .and full of life and joy. Then my friend Nedra, a wonderful lesbian of color and a musician I deeply admire tipped me to your backstory. Oh my ... now I knew where fierce comes from .. your courage to begin to love you own body and be your on person reminds e of another friend who has the same story of finding out what being a man that is authentic to v meant, he took the same journey. back to the body, Let me tell you Brian is very happy now and secure in a relationship (he discovered he was gay) and has a credit productive life. Gender expression is a large arc that goes from one end to the other of gender expression, finding where one fits is a scary journey, But as you are discovering a liberating one creatively. Let me be personal for a moment, I too questioned my own birth sex because I felt more "feminine in my emotional life and interests from an early age. thei was way befor the current "trans "movement .. I also had sexual issue that made me wonder what Iwas ..i never thought I was a woman but I did nto know how my mascuinity cwould fit . in ,, i got all those slurs kids get who are different, But I decide to stop worring and sinply be me, Yes that definitey had its rewards a,, and yes people reacted all kinds of ways,,, but once i settled taht my being me did not have to conform to expectation on a very deeo level felt free,, now about that fender ... make it your best fucking friend and protect it. trust me,..when it gets dark ...and sometimes it will .. pick up your fender and know you are loved by many. blessed be
Naia, biology need not dictate identity, your gender identity comes from the heart and if you every decide to transition again you will be supported. Don't feel like you have to be boxed into being 'male' or 'female' just because of your biology. There are plenty of gender-nonconforming/nonbinary people out there living life just fine, with spouses and kids too. If the dysphoria is that bad don't force an identity you don't connect with. Whatever you choose, just keep being you. Your music is incredible!
