@Bourbon Country Reacts and that is why I enjoy watching you 2. Real reactions to a genre of music I love. I guess what I meant is, for example, when he said Amarillo by morning, your attachment to that song is months old and from doing this, when I hear it my attachment is 17 year old me on the lakeside with my girlfriend (now wife) it just hits me in a way that it can't hit you, and that's cool too. Nice reaction guys. Every song is not for everyone. For some people this song strikes a major cord, because it mentions all those things most other genres skip, for others it sounds like a cliche. For me, it's a triple win.. the lyrics and music are fun and in their own way meaningful, invoking the feelings other songs generate. Brad show cases his voice. Last, but not least, he showcases his guitar skills, though some of its what's being played as he goes through the lyrics, is subtle , I think you'd really have to know all the songs well to catch it... not all though. But everyone's different, I seriously despise John Lennon's 'Imagine'. The music fits the song, but the lyrics are 100% cringe worthy to me. Other people love the song and think it's great.
The song is about how the simple things that country music fans can relate to are things that people in mainstream music don't/won't sing about. But, "This is country music l, and we do." It's supposed to be cliche because it's a song about what makes country music country music.
I'm loyal to the country artists who are loyal to us. When the artist and industry deviates from what they're supposed to be, just so they can follow trends and broaden their audience, they're no longer loyal to country music fans, and I'm not loyal to them. Modern country has been playing the harlot for a long time now.
This is such a great song and Brad Paisley has plenty. My favorites of his are Part Two, Then, Remind Me (with Carrie Underwood), He Didn’t Have To Be, Letter To Me, Ticks, I Wish You’d Stay, Who Needs Pictures, I’ve Been Better, Holdin’ On To You, Alcohol, Celebrity, I'm Still a Guy, and Water.
The listing of things said at the start of the song are things people don't talk about in a song, but country music does is the message and the list of singers up on the screen were those who sang about those very words. It's hard to look at a song about a long list of singers from the past not really knowing much about them and compare them to a few bands you followed growing up. It doesn't have much meaning to you guys because you don't have a long history following country music which is cool you like what you like and you do get credit for at least taking the time to listen vs others who hate country music and won't even give it a fair shake...
I've been watching you guys for awhile now. This world is full of different opinions and that's what makes the our country the best. This song is not a cliche. It as an omage to "Country Music" He said multiple times that THIS IS COUNTRY MUSIC and then went on to name some of the all time greats. I think you may be disappointed more and more if only looking for parts with his guitar playing ability.
This song is a tribute song to the country music greats, since you are just learning country music you are probably not familiar with the songs he is referring to. As a life time country fan I know the songs he is playing tribute to. But it's ok if you don't care for the song, it's not for everyone and everyone has a right to have their own opinion. The guitar playing is great!
You missed it,,, you know how many people will mock country music fans? he's saying "screw you, this is country music, and it is okay, now there are other songs that ARE paradies in country music,,,
Normally love your reactions, but come on guys. I’ve never seen anyone miss the point of this song this much. This is a tribute to country music and what makes it great. It’s not meant to be a cliche at all. Brad has always respected the legends that came before him and this song is a perfect example of that.
i think this song was his way of saying country a lot of music touches people in the feels and makes you think about things, even if you might not biggest fan
I am going to say this on top of what Keith said. This is a reaction channel. We saw this same crap when they reacted to Home Free. Not everyone likes the same music. I am a country fan, and not ever country song do I like, I just smile and say bless your heart and move along, I do the same for rock songs. Not everyone's personal take on music is going to be the same, that's why it's called a REACTS CHANNEL. Stop with all the hate and negative comments seriously
If you love guitar chops y’all need to check out Vince gills live performance of a & e live by request 1998. Mark knopfler once asked him to play with dire straits ha has recently toured with the eagles he was influenced heavily by Chet Atkins
I definitely liked the series, especially trying variations of the same bourbon. Sometimes I see you guys react to something and it sounds like I'd enjoy it, so I write it down and go to the store and there are 5 or 6 different kinds of that same bourbon lol So it would be cool to know which one you guys prefer in that scenario. Also, shout out to Skiper, those were some excellent song suggestions!
Yep, it's cliche just to let you know there's more to country than a hot guitar riff (which by the way country music is full of and were common since way before rock was ever thought of)
Psst...Keith, Brad worshipped Chet Adkins and look around on a Grand Ol' Oprey stage, you just might find Mark Knopfler.😊 The point behind this song is meant to be a tribute song and a eff you to cancel culture.
Hey, everyone has their own tastes. There are song types or subject matters that everyone has that they cringe. It's a tribute song, probably would have helped if that had been set up for you. But you aren't wrong to have the opinion you have. It's yours and you are honest with it. Hell as soon as I saw what song (which I do love) I cringed cause I knew where at least Keith would go. :) Thank you for keeping it real.
Thanks for the honest reaction. I agree that other than the guitar riff this is a (rare for Brad Paisley) meh, station changer song. I like the occasion series ( music and bourbon) . I come here for the honesty and the humor and you guys always deliver both. Thanks
It wasn’t a tribute, it was a parody all the way. The first time I heard it, I thought like you. My wife listened to it and chuckled all the way through.
Knopfler is actually British, born in 1949 in Scotland and raised in England. Urban was born in New Zealand and raised in Caboolture Queensland from the age of 2.
I agree that it's okay to disagree. I'm a huge Brad Paisley fan and a country and Rock music fan. I was in my 30s when I began to appreciate country, even though my family has deep ties to the music industry..I think a part of this song was meant to be a tribute to those who came before and I think partly it's meant to be a reminder that there's not a lot of people doing those types of songs that put country music on the map anymore There are still some good songs out there but so much of country radio is more pop than country. It's the sound radio execs decided would appeal to younger listeners and thus keep them in business. That's okay too it's just not what I choose to listen to. However I was in college when southern rock became a thing. Country purists hated southern rock but I loved it and still do.. It's my go-to music. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker band, wet Willie, Charlie Daniels and more!!! But my dad, thought they were ruining country music. And on The story goes.....
I've seen some of the comments and sorry about those, guys. A few are a little harsh. But I will say you do a great job reacting and I look forward to every video you release. You aren't required to love every song you hear. I mean, I know you guy weren't impressed with Home Free, but I love them and that's cool, we all have different taste. There is so much debate on what is and isn't country and SOME (not all) fans can get a little rabid when it comes to defining country. But like everything, in life, music changes over time and sometimes reverts back and then alters again slightly and that's okay, IMO. Sometimes it feels like if you dare say you dislike a certain country singer or even a certain song, others declare that means you aren't country fan. That makes no sense to me, when people suggest you have to be a fan of every artist in a genre. There are singers I love who have certain songs I will skip and there are some singers that I don't love who have one or two songs that I will turn up so loud and sing along. (Usually, I turn music up to conceal from anyone around the sound of my own singing, because it is not a pleasant thing) The example I use for myself, of singers so many adore but I don't, is Miranda Lambert. Not a fan of hers, she has a few decent songs, but I just am not overly impressed by her - for me, she is low on the list of female country singers but that said, she's part of Pistol Annies and I love them. There's something about her singing with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley that makes her music more appealing to me. And yeah, I can admit some of the more modern country singers aren't the greatest, but a lot of the old school country singers missed the mark as well. For example, you may have heard of a guy named John Denver 😜 who has sparked some debate over the years. Forgive the rant, but I am with you guys on this one - I don't like this at all, but I still think Brad Paisley is awesome. Disliking one song doesn't mean you hate the singer. He's amazingly talented and in interviews come across as a genuinely nice guy. I appreciate your honesty in your reactions. Keep up the good work. For the suggestions of the day, I will mention Lorrie Morgan's "Good as I Was to You". I don't think you guys have listened to anything by her yet and she is phenomenal. And Tim McGraw "Live Like You Were Dying". P.S - Dustin, totally relate to your snacking habits. I'm not eating Goldfish but I did finish off the last of the Cheez-It crackers while listening to this, so a shout out to those of us who eat like we are teenagers whose parents have left us on our own for a week and we intend to make the most of it snack wise. 🙂
Never apologize for hitting those amazing runs over and over. We get it!! ♥️ And guys, lighten up. Life is often cliche. This was a tribute and to trivialize what a songwriter feels in his soul I hope is beneath both of you. C’mon man!
Two other Brad Paisley songs to try are "American Saturday Night" and "Welcome to the Future" - both of them do what this one is talking about doing. I do think this song is right about a lot of what it says, because part of what makes country music unique is the way it tells stories, and everyone can identify with one story or another. I have been watching a lot of first time country reactors, and over and over have watched them each have this revelation - that country is different not just for the sound, but for the stories.
We’re y’all able to get my Sixteen Tons bourbon? I know it may be a while before you get to it on the reaction channel, but making sure I did it right. It’s not Tennessee Williams (my bad) it is Tennessee Ernie Ford
this has never been one of my favorites. but I do get the point of it. he is taking about all the things country music will sing about that other genres won't put in their music. I do agree with you. not a fan myself
I kinda like the sentiment behind the song, but Jamey Johnson expressed it so much better in That’s Why I Write Songs saying that every feeling or experience you have you can find a song to help you through or you can relate too
I love this “Tribute” song! The imagery going on behind Brad is fabulous. This is a first of y’all talking over a video. Dustin, you’ve been so crabby lately? Been here from the beginning … why have things turned negative?
This is far from the first time we've not liked a song. And not the first time we've talked over a video either. And I know you've been around, I absolutely recognize you from comments. This is Bourbon Country Reacts. The reactions you get from us are honest. End of story. - Keith
People's opinions on music/songs are just ...THEIR opinions. What some like, others may not. I find bands like GWAR cheesy and cliché...others would disagree. But it's MY opinion. To be honest, if every video on this channel was "I loved it. It was great!"....I probably wouldn't be here. I want honest reactions. I like this song, but I've been listening to country music for decades, and know the reason he wrote it. You like/don't like what you like/don't like....either way, you're not wrong. (Unless it's Nirvana...you're wrong if you like Nirvana. lol)
Cledus T. Judd is basically the country music equivalent of Weird Al Yankovic, and he has a parody of this song called "If This Is Country Music." Definitely worth a listen for a laugh!
I like the idea of a bourbon series. Not all the time but from time to time, it’s interesting. I’m a big Brad Paisley fan but I’m not a big fan of this one. But I think that’s with every artist in every genre. Sometimes they put out songs that a fan of that artist just doesn’t like.
Been a while since I heard that one and it made me remember some others. An oldy but goody is given nod to by Brad in one line that I remember well as a kid. "Take this Job and Shove It" by Johnny Paycheck. ua-cam.com/video/eIjEauGiRLo/v-deo.html
Mark Knopfler and Chet put out an album together called "Neck and Neck" you should check out "Poor Boy Blues". You guys are great just keep being real and we will keep coming back😊😊
Mmmm.... probably not. There are some far more obscure players that fill that list, even though it's subject to change. Steve Vai John5 Stanley Jordan Pepe Romero Synyster Gates If you go looking for those, you'll note two of them are way out of my normal genres. - Keith
I have a song request for you guys : It's Kip Moore - She's mine It has Electric Guitar in it so I'm pretty confident you'll like it 😊🎸 And also another great one from florida georgia line ft. Luke Bryan - This is how we roll
Oh, this one.... it’s a clever tribute. The cliches are the point. They built Country’s public standing and we acknowledge that. But Country is so much more. I think this tribute would have been stronger if he sang each song title with the melody, tone, and pitch we associate it with. But it sounds more like he tried to match the words to the music of his song instead. And that just didn’t work for me. Guys, Brad Paisley IS cheesy and cliched. He always has been. Either the lyrics to the song are cheesy and cliched but incredibly executed-Online, Alcohol, Ticks, I’m Gonna Miss Her, etc- or the song is amazing but the music video is cliched and cheesy. Don’t get wrong, I love Brad’s borderline style. But his portfolio isn’t all one note. He showcases his flare and it almost always works to his advantage.
@@BourbonCountryReacts Something I’ve been thinking about suggesting for you two a while now is to view the Ken Burns documentary Country Music. It’s one of the most comprehensive, well researched, and true to subject documentaries I’ve ever seen. And it does this genre of music the honor, respect, and justice it deserves. You will learn about everything that crafted the genre, from events to influences to the cornerstone artists no one knows much about anymore because their names are lost to time. I’d absolutely wait to watch it till you’ve heard at least 3 songs from all the biggest Country giants past and present, as well as heard all the most famous “one-song” artists (the artists with a good career that’s only remembered in pop culture for one song). So maybe it’ll be a few years till you see the documentary. But it’s worth the wait. Obviously, this would be on your own time and not a reaction. And even if you hate documentaries I hope you give it a go in the future. I just wanted to put the documentary on your radar. Don’t go jumping the gun, though. :)
I think y'all missed the message in the song. He's saying that country music is the genre is not following the politically correct climate we live in today. It's still loyal to its roots. Just my opinion.
I'm totally with you both on this one. You're reactions were exactly like mine when I first heard him perform it on this awards show. I'm a huge country music fan, but I always found this song to be corny as heck. It's a prime example of the many cliched, pandering checklist country songs that were coming out in the 2000's. There were literally dozens of songs coming out during that time that mentioned cancer, farms, tractors, small towns, beer drinking, mama, the troops, etc. with very few of them seeming genuine and coming across more as pandering to the audience instead. This song is like trying to validate all of those songs because "this is country music." Most of the best classic country songs never needed to pander to the country audience, though. Honestly, Brad was at his best during his first three albums, imo. After that he started putting out too many cheesy/corny songs like this, and he became more hit or miss for me. I'm glad y'all already did "He Didn't Have To Be," because that's still one of his very best songs, I believe. "Who Needs Pictures" is another great one, and it was his very first single. Again, hats off to you both for being real and honest!
I don't understand what is wrong with this song. It is basically a celebration of country music. The worst part of this song is the guitar run which oddly is not country at all. Thanks guys.
Brad has some great songs but every once and while he does a corny song like this. I love the music but lyrics are cheesy. I do like that he does bring up old artists so maybe younger kids can find older artists that kids needs to hear like Johnny Cash
We don't have to agree on every song. Y'all should react to #RemindMe by Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood (original music video). It has a great guitar solo & both of their voices sound amazing together. I know you both will love it!

I also really like "American Saturday Night" and "Wheelhouse/Southern Comfort Zone"
“You’ll never leave Harlan Alive” is another one he makes that jump
The reason I enjoy the chanel is because you do give honest opinions.
We agree to disagree. I love this song as it brings me back to songs and times in my country past. He was honouring country fans!
Country music honors the people who’ve gone before and so yes yes it was intentional
The fact people can call this song terrible is hilarious, and would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard (metal) blows my mind
i think this song was his way of saying country a lot of music touches people in the feels and makes you think about things, even if you might not biggest fan
Brad Paisley has a song called "Selfie #Theinternetisforever" is worth checking out especially the line about Brett Favre .
at the end, he was listing the best of what country music is
If you love guitar chops y’all need to check out Vince gills live performance of a & e live by request 1998.
This was a song dedicated to the FANS in the audience of Fans!!! Listen to the nod he was giving to fans. He wrote this for the fans.
Yep, it's cliche just to let you know there's more to country than a hot guitar riff (which by the way country music is full of and were common since way before rock was ever thought of)
Psst...Keith, Brad worshipped Chet Adkins and look around on a Grand Ol' Oprey stage, you just might find Mark Knopfler.😊
The point behind this song is meant to be a tribute song and a eff you to cancel culture.
Yep, I got that, but I felt like the way he inserted song titles with the other lyrics felt disingenuous, but that is just how it hit me. -Dustin
@@BourbonCountryReacts kinda think he meant it that way.
I guess I can be a little predictable. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts Keith, the only thing that makes you predictable is that you are honest. That is not a bad thing.
this is one of my favorite songs of his, country isnt made like this if made at all mainstream atleast
Thanks for the honest reaction. I agree that other than the guitar riff this is a (rare for Brad Paisley) meh, station changer song. I like the occasion series ( music and bourbon) . I come here for the honesty and the humor and you guys always deliver both. Thanks
Again thank you for your reaction. I have another suggestion Blake Shelton and the song is Austin.
I’m not his biggest fan, but I do love that song.
It wasn’t a tribute, it was a parody all the way. The first time I heard it, I thought like you. My wife listened to it and chuckled all the way through.
Keith Urban's hero is Knophler. They're both Aussies , of course. I'm compiling a new batch of requests to send.
Knopfler is actually British, born in 1949 in Scotland and raised in England. Urban was born in New Zealand and raised in Caboolture Queensland from the age of 2.
I've been listening to him all these years thinking he was from Australia.
Knopfler is a monster. But then, so is Keith Urban. (Brad too) - Keith
Love your reaction, and I totally agree, Keith!
He's from Glendale wv northern panhandle
I've spent some time along the river there. - Keith
I think you guys will really enjoy Brad Paisley with Keith Urban "Start a Band"
Since you mentioned Mark Knophler and Chet Atkins have you heard their album Poor Boy Blues 2 of the best to ever play a guitar on 1 album
(Usually, I turn music up to conceal from anyone around the sound of my own singing, because it is not a pleasant thing)
The example I use for myself, of singers so many adore but I don't, is Miranda Lambert.
7:53 Keith, you like Paisley's guitar playing, you need to check out his play album. All guitar licks. You're welcome. 😊
This is absolutely true, and typically stories a lot of folks can relate to. -Dustin
A series trying distillers products would be interesting
(Unless it's Nirvana...you're wrong if you like Nirvana. lol)
I loved it. Country fans are everything he says. Too bad you guys can't see that he was so going to us, the fans!
I don't mind the series thing. maybe one of these times I will send one through. it's an interesting idea for sure.
So Keith, know you put Brad's Mr Policeman on your driving list. Have ya outrun Motorola yet?😂
No comment. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts oh shit! Forgot about "self incrimination", especially on a public forum. Never mind. 🤣🤣🤣
He is talking about the country music executive’s….don’t want to hear that kinda stuff.
"Ride with Me" Cody Johnson
Have you noticed yet that every guitar he has has paisley on it in some form?
Being a true country fan, I love it!
Please do 'Funny how time slips away, willie nelson live 1997'
a must for any guitar fan
It's from 2010! It defines country music. Love everything Brad does!
He's awesome in concert!
Cledus T. Judd is basically the country music equivalent of Weird Al Yankovic, and he has a parody of this song called "If This Is Country Music." Definitely worth a listen for a laugh!
Cledus has so many funny songs. "Did I Shave My Back For This" "Please Take The Girl". He can make one hell of a parody from just about any song.
@@greeneyelove2003 That is a fact. I hope they react to him some day.
I like the song
I enjoyed the series. You do you. It's good eather way.
Your opinion. Your channel. But this was Brad Paisley's "Tribute " to country. 😊
y’all need to check out a couple duets, not a request just think ya would enjoy them. Reba and Vince Gill and Reba and Dolly
You guys are great just keep being real and we will keep coming back😊😊
You can absolutely count on us being real. Subscriber counts be damned. - Keith
So Keith if you are comparing Brad Paisley to Mark Knofler and Chet Atkins, I am gonna guess Brad has made your top 5 Guitarist of all time.
Mmmm.... probably not. There are some far more obscure players that fill that list, even though it's subject to change.
Steve Vai
John5
Stanley Jordan
Pepe Romero
Synyster Gates
If you go looking for those, you'll note two of them are way out of my normal genres. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts well you did compare Brad to chet Atkins, John5, knofler, and Jerry Reed before so hum
@@BourbonCountryReacts and I actually looked up and watched all those listed, I liked Jordan alot, I had heard the others before.
Would love for you to do 16th Ave by Lacy J. Dalton. 😁
The word is "contrived",I think.
Please please do “time warp live on letterman- Brad paisley” all guitar. He also has an album “play” that’s is guitar too…
I have a song request for you guys : It's Kip Moore - She's mine
It has Electric Guitar in it so I'm pretty confident you'll like it 😊🎸
And also another great one from florida georgia line ft. Luke Bryan - This is how we roll
recommend "Cost of Living" by Ronnie Dunn
eh, i don't know what side of left field you're coming from but it's a great song, no question and that's from a lifelong country fan
Eh, opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one. -Dustin
@bourboncountryreacts Listen to TIME WARP from the David Letterman show. Paisley does a solo that will blow Keith's mind!!!!
You hit the nail on the head for me! If the song titles would have blended with the actual song lyrics, it would have hit me differently. -Dustin
That was a great song about great music
React to gary allan songs about rain and man to man you'll absolutely love them both
Hope one day y'all react to Waylon Jennings and Hank Jr the conversation video.. oh and Sawyer brown the walk and they don't understand 😁
Please do some Eric church. His one the outsiders has some great guitar playing
Maybe y’all shouldn’t drink before you react. Your immaturity shines!
Deal with it. - Keith
The song is cheesy but it is a tribute
Check out his song moonshine in the trunk
It's really good and should help him gain some cool points back
We don't have to agree on every song. Y'all should react to #RemindMe by Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood (original music video). It has a great guitar solo & both of their voices sound amazing together. I know you both will love it!
One go look at garth brooks concerts. Second you are getting sent bottles of bourbon to listen to a country song .
