Loved this game. After playing this with Cody I now need to go and get my own copy it was so good. Wonderful design and I cannot wait to see if you have additional maps that will be added in the future.
This is one of those games that I could totally take to a pub with its small packaging and quick gameplay. You could easily get in a couple games while enjoying your favorite drink. And I am sure there would be some curious eyes watching in amazement as well. Great review.
"You can never have any more than three troops in any one area." I believe the cap is five, not three. Glad you liked the game. I'm still running it through its paces.
Thank you for the review! Just got my copy in 30 minutes ago. I can’t wait to give it a try. David Thompson is one of the few designers whose games I’m comfortable buying sight-unseen.
This looks fun. My first thought was Why not have more different boards? Of course this would be the starter set but how about 1 board like the Pacifc, Russia, North Africa, Germany, Italy France or Belgium. Still keep it abstract with sutile maybe one different rule for each just to make it different and a little more like WW2?
Does this game resemble in either the ease of play or the approximate playing time the postcard type of games that are available from the Against the Odds magazine? Small scale does seem to a factor in being able to bring a game to the table.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer I am sorry to hear that. We communicated about a year ago and were going to get together and play something after the cold weather ended. I guess I lost out on that one.
Awesome - so glad you enjoyed it!
Another great game, sir.

I believe I misspoke. Thank you. Clearly, we were playing with more than three in a space.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamerYeah, makes sense. Capping it at three would be... rough. :).
I hope they come out regularly with new maps for the system.
That's a good impression there at the end. 😂
Thanks!

Indeed.
Thanks! I'm going to get this! My son and I will love this!
It's a great little game. I think you guys will really enjoy it!

If this one does well, which I'm sure it will, they'll come out with expansions.
Boy, not only is the play quite abstract, but it looks like the maps being fought over don't even try to represent a specific area.
They don’t represent specific areas. As I mentioned, it really is quite abstract. But it’s a great game!

I haven’t played those, so I can’t say.
Someone's been critically drinking, that's for sure.
Ha!
Does anyone know the size of the cards for this game? If it's going down the pub it's getting sleeved for sure. Cheers!
Think they’re average size of a deck of playing cards.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Thank you!
Have you played Race to the Rhine?
Recently played the new edition. Stay tuned for review.
Are you not in Wyoming anymore?
Nope!
