    After all patches and with various mods, low ammo is usually not the problem. That's made machine guns very useful and almost necessary to have one in the each squad like one sniper rifle. Generally pistols and SMG are still less useful from mid of the game.

    I simply HATE the kind of “balancing” the devs would do that doesn’t make any sense like reducing the damage of individual bullets for automatic fire, which dumbs down the game and only encourages certain kinds of play style. Sniper rifles are considered broken or overpowered exactly because of this. Anyway only gonna play this game with mods to get rid of such stupid mechanics…

      nahhh.
      Close combat makes sniper rifles look like crap.
      With a sniper you can kill 1-2 a turn. With CC you can do 5+
