Brilliant!!! I have a Coleman HWOD unit that would work perfectly, just sitting atop the cutting board, and fashioning some sort of privacy screen. Thanks for the great ideas:)
I'm restoring my 82 transporter and would love to see you interior design, as I am removing the original rear seats. I love this kitchen set up!!!! Great work young man!
Very interesting design! it is convenient that garbage will fall not into the interior but out the door. the reverend cantrol of the water level. it is a pity that it is not suitable for winter and rainy weather
Looks like a solid setup. I like the seating you've built as well. I wouldn't mind a full tour since my wife and I are trying to get ideas together for our vanagon we just bought.
So much more practical to have a hob safely plumbed in and use a bowl for your sink, rather than the other way around. You should really have drop vents in the gas box in case of a leak..... But a lot in a small unit.
I kinda like the setup except for use in inclement weather. If I'm not mistaken, you have no way of cooking without the door being open. Maybe if the top swiveled so it could be used 1/4 turn (inside use) or full swivel (outside use). Other than that I think it's great. And I hadn't given thought to using a sink the way you do but I will. Thanks for that!
It does not. I usually spray a tiny bit out after I fill it though. About a drinking glass worth. Just to pull the water out of the fill and overflow lines.
loved the set up, just wondering what stovetop you used and where you got it from. also what water tank did you use and the dimensions of all your parts. thanks!
The stove is a suburban, you can find them anywhere. The water tank is a Ronco tank. I think it's 11 or 14' high and 21' or 22' square. You can find it on the Ronco site.
What is that black tube along the roof on the passenger side? Is that some kind of pull out awning or something else? If you do all cooking outside and it rains, seems like an awning would be useful. Beautiful work you've done.
Hi there, I'd love one of those kitchen units, I also pulled out the jump seat in mine. Did your ceiling originally have the long drop down thing for AC or whatever else is's for? From what I'm learning about these, we can no longer get AC in these old vans so that thing in the center spanning the length of of me van seems really dumb, do you have any thought, opinions, or ideas as to ripping them out? Possibly ripping the entire interior of the ceiling out and maybe painting, paneling or gawd knows what? I have two of these here in Maui that I rent out and I'm trying to think of ways to make them more user friendly, and most importantly, cooler for me when I take them out to play. Any ideas would be great. Do you have a toilet in there somewhere? Fridge?
I took my AC out. I used to have the long AC tunnel in the ceiling as you describe but it no longer worked. I hear rumors that you can get a small AC unit that lives in the dash on the passenger side but have yet to look into it. You can get new ceilings from Sewfine in Denver. I have a fridge in there now. No toilet, gross. ;-)
Great look. I want to build one for my Westy. I'm having problems finding the short self coiling hoses. Surprised I couldn't find one on ebay. Any help would be appreciated.
Depends on the build quality. This has $1k of materials in it and another $1k in unused materials and tools. If budget was your thing, you could lower the spec and lower the build quality and get away with maybe five or six hundred. Water tank was $350, water pump $100, stove $100, hookups were $100. But the biggest expense is all the tiny things.
Best set-up I've found so far.
Will be building one like this for my Honda Odyssey, Thanks.
Very sweat set-up. I may "steal" your idea for my Ford van.
Thanks! 😃
Awesome job!! This would work great in my VW split panel bus. Thank you for the idea!

Simple and brilliant! That's a really nice set up.

Excellent setup! Thanks for sharing
I loved this video, hope you do more :)
Awesome job. I was in the process of designing mine and not that I see yours I’m going back to the drawing board.
Don Preisler in that case you should look at my newer videos. 😉

Ha! You're exactly right. You should check out my newer videos for exactly what you're describing.
Love it you did an amazing job...! May I ask the dimensions of the box...?
Nicely done.
great set up my friend :)
Awesome setup! Does any water drip out of the connections around turns if you're filled to the max?
It does not. I usually spray a tiny bit out after I fill it though. About a drinking glass worth. Just to pull the water out of the fill and overflow lines.
Fantastic!
Awesome
Good video!

Oh yeah, spinweld fittings, 1/2" FPT, double ended thread, and an inspection lid. plastic-mart.com

It's an awning. I don't have it on anymore as I have a new interior that allows me to cook inside.

what if you need to cook inside? and do you have a porta poty? nice van!
Nora Steel in my new video I show off the new kitchen I made that lets you cook inside as well as outside.

Thanks so much! That's what i'm looking for.
btw, I assume you've seen this: www.norcaltintops.com/
Any idea what a rough estimate would be to build this ??

Kirt Fitzpatrick awesome, thanks for the info and video!
How does your bed work? Thanks
There's another video in my channel on the bed.
You should sell these on ebay. I'd buy one!
Thanks! But how much would you pay for it?

very good. wish you had someone filming you, instead of holding the camera, and you need to speak louder. it was hard to hear
