If someone stabbed a pregnant woman and it killed the baby but not the women, they would still be tried for murder. But if the women decide she doesn't want it, she can have a doctor do it and it is suddenly okay?

That's a very common dream actually. I had a few when I was pregnant, gave birth to baby rabbits, puppies and kittens. Belief that such dreams could result in a birth of a strange creature or deformed baby was common centuries ago. Steps were taken to try and limit those dreams.

I see no ethical problem with a pregnancy being eliminated within 10-14 of conception. By week 5-6 that is murder for sure. When my wife was pregnant, she had a dream that she gave birth to a dog. Like a puppy. She was freaked out, I just thought it was hilarious. But I understood how having a dream like that could be jarring, at least at first. But after a few weeks and she was still almost obsessed with a stupid, albeit a little creepy dream, I started to think something was up. Why would she let something so silly get to her like this?
Well, eventually the truth came out. Apparently she had cheated on me and there was a chance the baby wasn't even mine. I was destroyed. How could she? We would just have to find out when the baby was born what the future would look like. I still don't see how she could cheat period, let alone with a Labrador/Golden Retriever mix. An animal. A damn Dog.
Admittedly I was worried. But she didn't give birth to a canine. (Thank god) No a perfectly healthy Human baby boy. I mean, he did come out black, but I'm pretty sure we just both have some recessive black genes and our baby just happened to receive those from both of us instead of the more dominant traits. Never been happier.

History is 100% always important. If you ignore History, it will be impossible to create a better future for the next generation that come after.
And interestingly enough, the Morality of abortion has never been a Religious concern. Simply because, Religion is Man made thing based on the fact Humanity is a Moral being at its Core. Right and Wrong has always been the foundation of Communities, even in the very early Tribal gatherings of Ancient Humans.
The first argument against Morality has been to attack religion because of the falsehood that it was religion that created Morality. Now, I am not actually attacking Religion as a wrong thing, I myself consider myself a follower of Christ, but I also understand that as Humans, we created Religion, not God. My following Christ teaches me that Morality is a real thing attached to sentience, not a subjective concept of thinkers.
And as an added enforcement of Mr. Michaels Lecture, and also because I agree, *Psalm 82.*

Paul’s new book WINNING AMERICA’S SECOND CIVIL WAR: PROGRESSIVISM’S AUTHORITARIAN THREAT, WHERE IT CAME FROM, AND HOW TO DEFEAT IT helps illuminate how so many journalists and academics have come to excuse their obvious political bias. It is a fascinating, surprisingly obscure story about how the first generation of America’s doctoral faculty were educated in German universities whose curriculum were largely antithetical to American ideas about liberty and property. That education in turn engineered a progressive mentality that now defines the beliefs visible not only on our nation’s campuses, but across our nation’s elite institutions.

animals are not irrational tho. they do have brains and do have rationale. :) Whoever wrote this never had a smart dog like a Weimaraner, husky, pumi or other breed of independent working dog. We actually are the ones who have it backwards to put things as love children and do NOT love animals. We misquote Jesus and make zero room in our hearts to love animals and instead put it 100 percent toward human beings when God actually put enough love in our hearts to love both humans and animals. Just because Jesus said we are worth many sparrows, doesn't mean that sparrows then have zero worth. If they had zero worth, God would not have created them. In the garden of Eden, Adam and eve tended to the garden and the animals and one another. I think a lot of us out there will have to give a reckoning to God regarding our laziness and irresponsibility regarding how we treated our pets/animals. animals were once respected for what they contributed and gave us: companionship guardianship, milk, wool,, meat and were valued. Now they are trashed as commodities. Oh, it's just an animal people even Christians say when a dog dies. God doesn't create just a anything. Life is precious period. We have need of God to adjust our hearts glasses on how He sees His creation. He creates infants and He creates precious animals too. We have screwed things up in destroying both and treating both with no respect. Scripture tells us we will all give an account, including for each of our careless words and I hate to think how much more so an account for our ugly mindset to say that a baby is just a bunch of cells when we know that is not true and that an animal is just an animal. God creates every life intentionally.

Animals matter too, but there's a hierarchy involved. God doesn't tell us to value animal life as much as human life. This is how it is. The one point where I disagree is when you say "obviously, we would not be killing the innocent in self-defense". In almost all circumstances, it makes no sense to say both that a killing is done in self defense and yet also the one being killed is innocent. But abortion is exactly the kind of situation where both can be true. Consider the most common exception proposed for abortion: medical necessity due to extraordinary health complications. In that scenario, just as you say in the case of self-defense, the primary intention is not to kill anyone, but merely to protect oneself, and the fact that that involves killing someone is secondary. The person being killed is innocent, as there is no criminal act or malicious intent on their part, and yet they are still doing great harm to the mother, who may then defend herself from that harm.
The natural argument from the pro-choice side is then, if extraordinary health risks and stresses can turn abortion into self-defense rather than murder, why aren't the ordinary health risks and stresses of pregnancy already sufficient to make it self-defense rather than murder? On the basis of that argument, I'd say the rape exception is reasonable as well. In that situation, even the ordinary stresses of pregnancy are effectively a continuation of the assault that was already done to her. But that argument falls apart in the typical case: a reasonably healthy pregnancy resulting from consensual sex. In that typical case, the consent to sex, with the easily foreseeable possible consequence of pregnancy, undercuts the claim of self-defense. It's a common principle in self-defense law that, basically, if you're the one who created the confrontation in the first place, then you don't get to claim self-defense, because all you had to do was not create the confrontation.
So the self-defense argument doesn't hold water for the vast majority of abortions, but it seems reasonable for the commonly proposed exceptional circumstances.

If life is a gift from God, of which we do not have the ability to gibe or end, why are we aloud to kill in other aspects. You suggest capital punishment which involves taking God given life away from someone. We've been commanded to rule over the animals and the ability to eat them but not criminals. God is the judge not us, correct?

From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in His own image."- Gen. 9:5-6. I agree with Michael's position on abortion. However, if it is always wrong to kill a human - other than in self defense - he should also oppose the death penalty. Once you allow cold blooded killing for 'certain reasons' you are firmly on the slippery slope and you can no longer form a watertight moral argument against killing babies, or really anyone.

I agree. And it’s so easy to judge wrongly. Many have been killed and later we have found out the person was actually innocent.
