I was 23 and worked for an operator of arcade games when MK1 came out. We put out 24 MK1 games (mostly in 7/11's) in one day. The last one went to a video store with a small arcade. We were watching kids play and we were stunned by the gameplay. Then I saw Sub Zero's fatality for the first time...
I seriously almost soiled myself because I was laughing so hard.
This is an awesome series.
Would like to see the campaign mode on the Dumpster channel. The story is from the first Mortal Kombat after Liu Kang wins the tournament, he rewrites the time line. So, this is the new time line he created.
Doesn`t matter how advanced these games get last hit always ends up with players at either side of the screen desperately seeking fireballs

Just as long as all of them are involved and not anyone solo playing. Their interactions and dynamic is what makes them special (and funny and entertaining). Always loved their backseat gaming videos.

Little tip, hit start and go to move list and scroll to finishers and you'll see how to do fatalities and brutalized. Also, keep playing this. I was genuinely enjoying this and watching you guys button mash like pros.

I remember the parental outrage at the pixelated animations of ripping out the spine and skull. I wish I could go back in time and show them these animations! 😂
I loled along with Dora when Stryker just ran in and kneecapped Lu Kang with his baton and ran away lmao. MK is still king of fighting games IMO.

I went an arcade in the early 90's. A dude that worked there would whoop ass one handed.
I once interviewed a Tekken world champion, it was the only thing he could talk about, he dedicated so many years of his life to achieve it that he'd lost out on basic life skills.
I like the system for the fatalities, makes them feel more earned and gives a greater satisfactory feel when you nail it.

The greatest recurring quality of Mortal Kombat is that at the end of the fight both guys are still laughing their asses off with each other.

There literally used to be a huge difficulty jump in the last stages of the game to get you to drop an extra token/quarter into the arcade game; since early console ports were just tuned down versions of the arcade version, the difficulty leap stayed in as well.
Those ankle kicks were BRUTAL!!!!
My brother and me along with friends eventually it became an unspoken rule to not do the same move consecutively 3 times in a row. Like crouch punches or kicks or throwing long range attacks. Anything that seems cheap pretty much. It made it funner and knew if won it was kinda a win that didnt count. Stopped some fights from happening maybe even in real life haha😂😅

Looking at ALL of your screen can be very helpful. I mean there's a picture of Cyrax and the "RB" button, how much more of a hint do you need? Neebs also missing the blinking "LT+RT" buttons during fatal blows
My uncle was insane with this game or the atleast one of them but i forget which one it couldve been the n64 one but he new pretty much every finisher... and he never let us win haha😂. Good times... good times😅

My older brother was really good at mk3 and umk3 and killer instinct on the nes. I literally could never beat him, and he never let me win. I might have gotten luck a time or two but not due to skill.
Then later i joined a friend group for a while where they were basically all good, but there were 2 or 3 that were jjst absurdly good at fighting games. Soul calibur, smash, basically any of em. Just surrounded by fighting game domination.

Oh man, I was always terrible at MK as a kid and would get so mad when I lost. XD Thankfully now I just don't play these games much anymore. Looks fantastic and I love watching them though. Well played.

Yeah, it's great to see it embrace both the classic (or should I say Klassic) colour swap ninja and the more modern versions of reptile, it's a shame Ermac and Rain didn't get the same treatment.

I love the fatalities you can use in this'd game but I swear am I the only one who was like " Come on neebs just button mash and kick some booty" lacked a bit of excitement but as a whole still a very good bit of content from neebs gaming right there

Game needs a blunt man and chronic characters. Blow some smoke and suddenly your enemy cant attack cause they feel peaceful.

Ol school I used Scorpion combo get over here, followed by uppercut, then kick and finally teleport....It would leave my victims in an endless loop of a combo and REALLY aggravate them...hehehehehehehe
