Daddy daughter days are the best. I’ve five kids my first 3 daughters have grown out of camping but my fourth daughters 8 now and she wants to come camping. Finally had a son so Al be good for a camping buddy until I expire 😂. Kids never forget camping trips.
You're doing an amazing thing, making happy memories for your daughter to hold on to, to remember into adulthood and share, God willing, with her own children. Things may not always go to plan, they very rarely do, the tent could leak, you may be cold etc, but it all makes for happy memories. If only we could have all had/have fathers like you the children of today and tomorrow wouldn't have a lot of the problems they had/have. Best wishes from Northern Ireland.
It means a lot to us when people take the time to leave thoughtful comments like this! You know you’re right, it’s trips where things don’t go according to plan you remember the most! My dad often mentions how he wished he had the means to record our crazy adventures when we were young. Technology has come a long way since the shoulder camcorders lol. Thanks again Kerry, I hope all is well!
@@laffitteoutdoors You're most welcome. Some of my first and favourite memories are of camping with my grandfather and a cousin along a river which runs through our town. It wasn't any more than 4/5 miles away from our house but it could have been anywhere we wanted it to be. I still love camping to this day and I'm a granny , still a young granny but a granny nonetheless lol. We also took our own children camping along the same river and they have fond memories of it too. Wishing you and your family many more years making many more memories. Best wishes again from Northern Ireland.
This is great! I love seeing other father-and-son/father-and-daughter teams in action out there in the woods! That's what my son and I do for our channel as well. Making memories, teaching others, learning new things, having experiences we get to share and hopefully carry on to the future for their own kids. Best of luck to you and your family!
Thanks buddy we really appreciate it! I couldn’t agree more. Man family in the woods together, that’s special right there. We’ll have to check you guys when I get back to better cell service. Cheers buddy and thanks again from my family to yours🍺
It was good seeing a dad spend time with his kid seeing her put the stove up I loved it most kids only no how to hold games in there hand ty for a good video
Thank you for the kind words! She’s a splendid young lady, makes her parents proud for sure! Something every 10 year old should have on their resume lol. Trying to change youth mentality one stove at a time 😁 Take care!
Ooooh, listen to that wind. Yeah good call - them trees make ya nervous when the wind starts howling. Always a learning experience, always an adventure!
We hated to pull the trigger, I heard what sounded like a decent size tree fall when I was gathering the last bit of wood.. Butt puckered a bit and it was time to git lol. Hope you and the fam are doing well!
It was an adventure. The ones were things don't go as planed are always the most memorable. It's defiantly best to play it safe. 20 years from now it will be like....you remember that time?..... Making great memories with the Boogster. Take care guys...
Thank you 😊 that’s what it’s all about memories and spending time together and not getting squished. We’ll get my son out more with us once it warms up a bit. He might of blown away on this one lol.
Great video good to see the young ones out there. I've done a lot of winter camping and I do tons of ice fishing I found even with the small stoves try to burn unsplit wood it burns a lot longer pretty sure you know it split was nice it gets going quick but like especially at night get a nice bed hot cold the biggest round ones that you can in there and you'll see the difference. Look forward to watching your other videos
Thank you! We’re newbie’s with the wood stove so we much appreciate the pointers! So far we’ve really enjoyed it, but as you say we will do and report back. Thanks again and look forward to learning more!

Hello from Northern Ontario, Canada! Despite the brutal winds, that looked like an amazing father-daughter camping trip. Memories you both will cherish forever. Keep up the amazing work, and keep the good times rolling 😀
I raised both my daughters they’re in their early 20’s now I miss them being little and doing new stuff with them but I’m happy to watch them grow it happens way too fast though lol they’re the best friends I’ve ever had these days I wish your family the best man thanks for sharing y’all stay safe and take care😎
Man thanks Mike, I agree wow it happens way too fast. I remember my parents saying things like that when I was young, and I was like yeah yeah… It’s true though. I’ve heard a saying that a daughter will always take care of her daddy. Let’s hope ours don’t have to, but I believe they would! Thanks again buddy
I’m glad you got out with your new equipment. Good change of plans especially with your daughter. Taking chances as a younger man with no responsibility is a different story. That saw was amazing you went through wood like a ninja 🥷 . One quick slice. 😊
Thanks brother I’ve been watching ninja turtles with my son and got inspired lol. Hi-yah 🥋 We hated to bail, but your right live to karate chop another day!
Young people leaving the comfort zone- yeah! I do winter camping with children/teens for 3 years now and it is always an adventure. We faced the same problems like you too: we had to break two camps during the second nights because of high winds. Safety first.
That’s awesome! I mean not that you had to break camp but the adventure/ memories and stories are what it’s all about! It’s so good for the kids also, to unplug and get to know themselves. Like you say get them out of their comfort zone. Away from society. It builds character and confidence, especially when things don’t go as planned. But that’s life right 😁 🍻
The best thing is teaching the children to survive, the normal times are fading away and a survival skill or to will help. I hope you will teach her to hunt , shoot , fish etc. So when the time comes she will be able to survive. God Bless you friend
Thank you my friend and God bless you and yours as well! We do a good amount of fishing but I look forward to teaching her to shoot and hunt as well! My dad taught me when I was 12 but I was also a wildling lol. Take care brother and thanks again!
My dad hiked the Appalachian trial in 1974 and rode his bike with his girlfriend from SC to Oregon after that. He had me at 44 yrs old and was just working all the time. I wish we could have done stuff like this together. I'm 25 and I take my son camping all the time he's 1, so I'm starting him early for fun trips. My husband won't camp bc he says he did all that in the military 🙄 haha. But he does lots of other things with our son. U r a great dad! Work is never more important than your children.
Thank you so much! That’s impressive I don’t think my fathers done anything quite like that lol, but he’s the reason I camp, started me out real young as you did with yours 😊 Hopefully it will pass down to them and then eventually their kids. Hopefully one day your husband will come around, maybe if he sees how much fun you guys have he’ll change his mind ! Thanks again and take care 😁
I absolutely love the romance of camping in bad weather except for one thing... dangerous winds, you protect yourself from the rain sleet or snow and even some winds but when you're dealing with gale force with trees all around you made the correct safe call... besides you've got special cargo to protect ❤️

5 years old! I think my daughter was around that age when we really started getting into it. It’s so much fun isn’t it! We really weren’t expecting the wind but it got crazy, and cold. Well cold for us southerners lol. Thanks again buddy and here’s 🍻 to many more trips with the youngins 😁
@@laffitteoutdoors Yessir cheers! BTW I was just as freaked out about the wind and things blowing onto our tent as you were. That's no joke when you're out there surrounded by trees and winds like you had. Be safe out there! ✌
When I get home I will enable captions. I’m just not sure if it will only work with English, but we can try it out. I’ll message you back after I set it up and we’ll see if it works.
Those pines are Swaying like hippies around a camp fire. Gail force are 50 to 80 mph. Moving to the truck is likely the best option. Truck camping is still camping.
I love how you’ve turned a nice little camping trip into a extreme sport 😂😂😂 Have you sold your kit… used once.! But everything said… we’ll done for trying- Top job 👍🏻
Thank you Rupert :) just trying to make it look as interesting as possible lol. No we kept the set up, I actually used it a couple of weeks ago. Just trying to hone our craft 🤨🤘 Take care buddy!
I had 4 sisters and no brothers. As the oldest, I was chosen to fill the male offspring role. I'm 59 now and I know, thanks to my father, how to take down a tree, build a shed, fish, pick mushrooms, forage for nuts and berries, and many other things that most girls don't learn. I'm grateful for the skills I was taught as a kid because I know now, in the event of a catastrophe, I stand a pretty good chance of survival. Melissa...trust me when I tell you how lucky you are to have a dad who is willing to take the time to teach you the skills you may need one day. 😉
Thank you 😊 we’re so proud of this strong young lady! I’m convinced I learn more from her than she does from me on these trips… Our hope as parents, as your dad did is to raise our children to be able to take care of themselves, in any conditions. Respect the outdoors and people. Thank you for your words they mean a lot! After all we’re not quite to the teenager years yet 😬
Great video! Looked like the weather was very intense, windy nights are never fun. Seems like it was a good idea to play it safe and sleep in your truck! Sucks when the weather report is off.
Hey thanks bud! Yeah weather is sometimes hard to predict in the mountains but normally they’re pretty close. We really didn’t want to bail on the tent but your right. Stay safe and live to camp another day 😁 Hope all is well!
Though I enjoy watching all your videos this is one of my favorites. Too bad you guys has to abandon your tent and sleep in your truck instead. Winter camping with the sound of the wind howling is awesome!
Thank you so much! We really hated to bail on our first time in the new tent but figured we’d not chance it. Really missing winter camping right now it’s 90 out lol. Take care 🍻
That's a shame yous felt you had to bail. Keep a good couple of winter quilt ls in the car especially of your using poorer insulation sleeping bags Another trick is you could line the rear wal with a mylar sheet and turn the stove more sideways to yourself, bigger surface area and heat reflected and everything is toasty biylie
Thanks buddy! Those are great tips, I’ll have to try out the Mylar idea. We keep the buddy heater in the bed of the truck all the time in the winter, only 1 propane tank though so had to use it sparingly. Thanks again for the insight. Take care😊
The wind is my biggest fear in the woods. Those Hot Tents are so cool. I could hear that wind kicking even inside your tent!! It’s definitely better to be safe than sorry. Is the Buddy Heater any good? Cool video 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey Jason! I agree, I love trees so much but I also don’t wanna be squished by one lol. Hard to go camping again after that 😬. We love the buddy heater. It definitely boosted morale on this one. When we know we’re going to use it I grab the tank from the grill, that way we can use it all night without changing out those tiny tanks every couple of hours. Thanks buddy and take care!
Your right, it’s hard sometimes making the decision to quit, I can imagine your decision was a bit harder to make than ours, but at least we will all be able to live and adventure again! Cheers 🍻
I hear ya, we’re predominantly in the Carolina’s so snow is like a unicorn to us lol. The mountains get pretty cold but are also hours away… Maybe we should move 🤔
@@laffitteoutdoors yeah there are some awesome tents that I always almost get, like a Hilleberg, but I only wind up getting a tent that I can stand up in. Ok if you insist I’ll grab a beer right this second lol… 🍺
Hey, I literally just got that tent from Amazon today for a steal, they are giving them away for $129 can...(green for that, but I got the black as the coyote one was $100 deerer and a gouger got the all black ones and marked them up 300%)got the footprint too (and a locomotive 20)
man thats never fun when the high winds come rolling in like that. Definitely a good call and at least you had a back up and stayed safe in the truck. the stove hut is definitely a cozy tent but risky in high winds.
Thanks buddy, honestly I was surprised the tent was still standing in the morning.. We’ve enjoyed this little tent, got a little moisture intrusion on our last trip, so probably won’t use it in the snow again but other than that it’s done well. Take care buddy!
@@laffitteoutdoors for sure. haha i would be too. you must of had a hell of a tie down on it lol. im right there with you on that. i noticed that too. its a great tent but if you don't use the wood stove for that long the moisture definitely builds up. ill be using a few different tents for the last few trips here soon. look forward to watching more of your adventures.
@@laffitteoutdoors You bought the best made titanium stove. Well done! I have the T-1 Mini and T-Brick Max. This is my take with base camping from vehicles (or trekking not far from Vehicle), I would say get a comfortable roomy strong 4 season tent that you can stand/sit in. I recommend for safe winter camping the Nortent Gamme 6 or 8. A bit pricey (but as you know the more you use it the more value it becomes) It's super solid to handle high winter winds and very well made and a pair of chairs and a small table would make being in the tent a much better experience. The Pomoly T-Brick Ultra would be the perfect stove for it (keep your T-3 Mini for a smaller 1-2 man trail tent). The Nortents are also not too heavy for canoe, or snow sled camping. For backpacking 4 season tent for winter trail camping, I have the HydroLite Ultamid 4 (or Ultamid 2 if you want smaller). I sowed (with sewing machine) in my own Pomoly brand stove jack. Showing these two tent and quality gear will get you more UA-cam views as well. I go with the thinking of buy once and buy great quality. In the long run a better safer experience and you save in the long run from re-buying multiple upgrades in gear and wasting $$$. Awesome for your daughter winter camping with you. I still go with my daughter winter camping and mountaineering, and she is 29 yrs. old. I will look forward to watching your videos. Good Luck!
Thanks for the info, it’s good to hear actual experiences with gear. I’ve been wanting to get a 4 person 4 season tent so I can bring the whole family! I just want to make sure it will fit in my pack. Generally I try not to hike more than a mile when we’re hot tenting, try to focus more on camp than hiking, and we can bring more gear 😁. Next time you set up your Ultamid do you think you could send me a picture? LaffitteOutdoors@gmail. Or Instagram or FB. I’d like to see where you put the stove jack. I’ve put a jack in one of my cheap tarps but haven’t ventured to a tent yet. That’s great you and your daughter still get out like that! I’m hopeful the boogie will still be interested 20 years from now🤞. Thanks again buddy!
Yes sir born and raised ✌️we do a majority of our camping here in the Carolina’s. Been a bit warm this season lol makes it hard to want to camp unless you’re near water.. Bring on the cold weather! Cheers buddy 🍺

I took my 5 year old daughter out in that windy weather in RMNP at the same time. It was no joke! Good video guys!
good moment camping with daughter,,, so pretty
Thanks buddy we really enjoyed ourselves 😁 Happy Weekend!
Great video. Great watching Dads camp with their kids. My son and I camp a lot of beaches and rivers , always a good time.
Thanks buddy! It’s not often you get a good comment from ole Ebenezer 😁 cheers to your adventures with your young ones 🍻
I envy you. Greetings from Turkey, I look forward to the camp
We love to camp! Best wishes to you from the States 😁 Take care friend
When I get home I will enable captions. I’m just not sure if it will only work with English, but we can try it out. I’ll message you back after I set it up and we’ll see if it works.
@@karamela67 Nice to meet you Angel. I turned on captions unfortunately I think it will only show as English. I’m sorry
it doesn't matter

Those pines are Swaying like hippies around a camp fire. Gail force are 50 to 80 mph. Moving to the truck is likely the best option. Truck camping is still camping.
They really were and we thought so also at that mph. Thanks so much and take care!
So fun! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you 😊 we really enjoyed ourselves! Take care and Happy early weekend 😁
@@laffitteoutdoors we will thank you! 👍

Thank you Edward we really enjoyed ourselves on this one! Take care 😊
Top dad 👍🏻
Awesome working 🇧🇷
Thank you 😊
@@laffitteoutdoors wellcome brother
Great video, thank you :)
Thank you 😊
I had 4 sisters and no brothers.
I’m convinced I learn more from her than she does from me on these trips…
Our hope as parents, as your dad did is to raise our children to be able to take care of themselves, in any conditions. Respect the outdoors and people.
Thank you for your words they mean a lot! After all we’re not quite to the teenager years yet 😬
☺️
Great video! Looked like the weather was very intense, windy nights are never fun. Seems like it was a good idea to play it safe and sleep in your truck! Sucks when the weather report is off.
Hey thanks bud! Yeah weather is sometimes hard to predict in the mountains but normally they’re pretty close. We really didn’t want to bail on the tent but your right. Stay safe and live to camp another day 😁 Hope all is well!
Your daughter yelling!!!! made the video 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👌👍
Love that kid, outta control 😂🤣 Thanks buddy!
Nice winter camping !
Thank you and cheers friend, I hope all is well 😊🍻
Another great video!
Thank you brother. Hope all is well!😀
Though I enjoy watching all your videos this is one of my favorites.
Take care 🍻
A loving father ❤️❤️❤️
🇵🇭🇷🇺
Absolutely and thank you 😊 Take care friend!
hi, I'm from Indonesia, I really like your channel, I hope your channel has more subscribers, and always in the protection of the Lord Jesus
Thank you so much 😊 best wishes to you from the states and God Bless 😁
That's a shame yous felt you had to bail. Keep a good couple of winter quilt ls in the car especially of your using poorer insulation sleeping bags
Another trick is you could line the rear wal with a mylar sheet and turn the stove more sideways to yourself, bigger surface area and heat reflected and everything is toasty biylie
Fantastic outdoor activities.I love the place. That forest is a good place.Enjoy.Cooking in wood is cool.New friend here.
Cheers friend 🍻 and thank you 😊
this very good I congratulate you
Thank you so much for positive words 😊 Take care friend!
The sound of that wind 💨 was so intense y’all are lucky I wasn’t there we’d be running for home 🤣
It was pretty impressive for sure! We should have brought a kite 😂
I once took 75 guys up Mount Kenya, the weather changed and they failed the summit by 800 meters.
Lots of gutted but alive today!
Your right, it’s hard sometimes making the decision to quit, I can imagine your decision was a bit harder to make than ours, but at least we will all be able to live and adventure again! Cheers 🍻
Amen amazing father
Thanks Christopher! 😊
I’m from the deep South and on my bucket list I would like to spend a month in the dead of winter in Canada or Alaska in a hot tent
I hear ya, we’re predominantly in the Carolina’s so snow is like a unicorn to us lol. The mountains get pretty cold but are also hours away… Maybe we should move 🤔
Freezing camping equals…cots & chairs for me!! Then again so does summer camping.
I’ve been thinking the same lol I mean my back ain’t getting any younger! Thanks Joe and cheers buddy 🍺
@@laffitteoutdoors yeah there are some awesome tents that I always almost get, like a Hilleberg, but I only wind up getting a tent that I can stand up in.
Ok if you insist I’ll grab a beer right this second lol… 🍺
It is almost time for kickoff lol 🍻
Very wise decision going to the truck, those trees too much of a risk
Thank you Annie, we hated to bail but we still enjoyed the trip 😊
Veri Veri God master.👌👌👌👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️ Iran
Thank you dear friend :)
Very beautiful 💯
😊
I like this video.
Thank you 😀 we enjoyed being out there despite the conditions! Take care.
Outstanding
Thank you good friend! We learn a lot from your channel 😁. We’ll see you soon!
Hey, I literally just got that tent from Amazon today for a steal, they are giving them away for $129 can...(green for that, but I got the black as the coyote one was $100 deerer and a gouger got the all black ones and marked them up 300%)got the footprint too (and a locomotive 20)
🥶 that wind sounds brutal.
🥶🥶🥶 for sure!
man thats never fun when the high winds come rolling in like that.
Watching from philippines 💝
Hello to the Philippines 👋 cheers friend 🍻
What a beautiful girl she's cute 😊 .
Nice video 👍🏼 thank you for sharing video
Thank you very much! She’s a special one 😁 Best wishes
You made the right call there my friend
One dead branch……..
Thanks brother, hard decision but at least the truck was nearby.. Take care buddy
Nice..😍😍😍..from Indonesia..
Thank you and cheer’s from the states 😊🍻
I do the same as you..get the fire going quickly... get lots of wood... run stove all night with large pieces...
This is our first year using the wood stove but that’s what we hope for! Any pointers we much appreciate 😁 Take care buddy.
Nice to see someone else camping from sc. I think I saw a sc tag
Yes sir born and raised ✌️we do a majority of our camping here in the Carolina’s. Been a bit warm this season lol makes it hard to want to camp unless you’re near water.. Bring on the cold weather! Cheers buddy 🍺
Holy shit, looks like you got caught in the algorithm current. Set sail for adventure!
😂 🤣 it’s crazy right.. No idea what we did differently, if anything.. Roll of the dice I guess.
