Mate, watching that Arapaima scrap took me back! You had me reliving hookpulls in swims 16 and 2 so I know how you feel... gutted but elated and you're right - that's fishing! That's the buzz. Tom and Ollie are legends it's an awesome place!
Well Rob im not normally short of words but I don't know what to say , ok well i've got two words just fantastic. What an epic place to wet a line and what an upload this is many thanks for posting it. Gutted for you at the end where you lost the biggun but there's always next time. Good luck 👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣
@@Madgitty2 No - rods/alarms and terminal tackle are all onsite. Take a selection of your own terminal tackle/pva bags if you want but it’s not 100% necessary. You can get all you need there. 👍
@RobsAngling I've had some cracking Barbel out at Monkmoor over that last few weeks. 4 doubles in 2 weeks. Seem to have found the perfect spot for them.
So unlucky not to land the big one I can imagine the utter pain you felt when you lost it 😢 thanks for sharing the video and I’ve got no doubt that you will go back and nail one next time absolutely gutted for you!!!
Gutted for you losing that Ara !!! I was there in November of 2022 and loved it to bits. I’m a river angler so bite alarms and carp rods were alien to me but Tom, Ollie and George made you feel so comfortable. I did three days fishing, it was tough going as they had heavy rain in recent weeks but still managed some big Siamese, Tambaqui and a beautiful Red Tail (target fish) about an hour before I was due to leave. The place is immaculate with fantastic food and the customer service from resort staff is second to none. I’m hoping to get another trip in November this year if they have availability.
@@RobsAngling it really is a magical place. Out of interest what month / dates did you go in please and how was the weather ? We can only fit in mid-October and conscious of the rain.
@@gavinburt3750 It was early November so a similar time of the year. It hammered it down with rain for an hour one afternoon, otherwise it was dry and blazing sun 👍
@@RobsAngling Thanks, it sounds like you went the same week I went in 2001 as we had similar weather. Hopefully will be good for us going a few weeks earlier.
Your video has got me very excited for my trip to Jurassic next month mate great stuff, watched it over 5 times 😆!! Can i ask a few of questions please? 1) Is there anything you didn't take with you which you wish you had done, certain handy terminal tackle etc? 2) Did you make up your own rigs up or were they pre made from Jurassic, if you did what hooks/ 60lb hook link did you use or was it just any 60lb braid? 3) I saw you had used your Vortex baits did you take these in your checked luggage with no issues? Thanks for you help mate and again great video!
Hi Lewis, I’ve rebooked for next year and counting down the days already! I used a lot of PVA bags, take plenty of XL size as you need to double bag everything due to the water temps.. Also take back leads as they’re an edge - Most people don’t use them. I used the house rigs - They’re decent and are tried/tested.. If you want to make your own, it’s probably worth messaging them in advance to agree the terminal tackle you’ll be using is acceptable to them. The hookbaits I took with me went into my checked luggage - Nobody asked any questions at either airport about these. Have a great time 👍🎣
Great video Rob. I'm heading to Jurassic myself next week. I've never really done any carp fishing before besides feeder fishing. Do you think I might struggle?
I need to go back and fix that very soon myself! I’m not in Thailand now but do have another video to come in the next 1-2 weeks from the Jurassic Species Lake 👍🎣
Cheers Clive.. I used a fair bit of PVA so well worth taking plenty of bags and string. All tackle and rigs are onsite that you need so no need to take a tackle box full etc.. Don’t wind in early is the other key advise - The last 30 mins of the day are mad..! It’s an epic place - Enjoy 👍🎣
