I love that he doesn’t make fun of living off of £1 and instead gives tips to make it easier for people who do live on a small budget
To be honest with you homeless people and people who are on the poverty line need this app
Homeless people usually have a cheap feature phone (like an old Nokia handset) which would run java apps & this app probably only runs on android & iOS so they could not use it
We have a webapp too, no powerful smartphone required! It's lacking in features compared to android/iOS but we're catching it up. It does the essentials!

so your telling me that your website should load on my LG A225GO? which is a java powered feature phone which comes with Opera Mini...... your telling me that when the phone cant even LOAD UA-cam let alone any basic HTML webpage which doesn't contain any CSS
wclifton968 I can't confirm for that device but based on what you've said I don't think it would work.
Computers are available for use in several places for free however (for example libraries). But my basic point is that access to an android/iOS smart phone need not be a barrier to using OLIO.
People are complaining about how he doesn’t use his 1 pound and just gets free stuff. However he is acc helping people out who need to know this

OLIO requires at least iOS 8.0 or Android 4.1 and upwards but can be accessed from the web. If you know/meet someone who looks like they might need this, send them to the nearest *public computer* (libraries, cafes etc.).
They may not have the kind of money to visit cafes, but if it gets them several free meals, I'm sure it can be well worth it.
If you're not well of yourself, but have access to this app, please collect the food and *share it* with ones in need.
Tell your *friends and family* about this, if you think they may have the resources to contribute.
The app also has *non-food items* such as clothes, mattresses, furniture, cutlery, hygiene products and more. This can be a lifesaver for someone under the poverty line.
On a user’s profile you can see their user rating - this is displayed once three or more other users. So it's almost entirely safe.

Joseph Daniel no we're worldwide. Obviously we have better usage in major cities. At the moment London certainly is the busiest area and where most of our food waste volunteers are based, but we are slowly organising food collections with businesses country-wide, and in future across the globe :)
How does your company monitor the people that give away food, some people might poison it or give expired food. I think if the company worked with shops instead that would be better
