honey is owned by paypal & is subject to paypal's TOS including the terms that prevents users of paypal's products (including honey) from filing class action suits (unless you exempted yourself in a written letter back in 2022 or 2023). so basically almost no one using paypal products after that update is eligible to sue paypal in a class action suit
Using that logic, if I have you sign a contract that says I give you permission to murder me does that make it valid? No, contract is null and void if anything illegal comes about it. In this case they would have to prove fraud against Honey
That's not how that works. A company's own TOS is not the be-all-and-end-all for whether or not you're allowed to sue them. If a company is violating the law then it doesn't matter what their TOS says, they're still liable. Same way that "You can't sue us for anything if you agree to this" doesn't protect you from lawsuits in the event you've caused someone's death or injury as a result of gross negligence There is a strong case to be made that what they're doing is a form of fraud, and may also violate some consumer protection laws (under the laws of multiple countries). They absolutely can be sued, regardless of whatever weasely language and stipulations they've hidden in their TOS. Agreeing to the terms of service is not a magical "get out of jail free card" for the company. Imagine if a battery company said, "You can't sue us for damages if our batteries randomly blow up and kill your kids" in their TOS.
@@jacobyullman5005 Go read the TOS. Not the part about lawsuits but the Description of Services. The problem is people ASSUMED that the service does something it doesn’t if you actually read the service agreement you’d see that Honey does not guarantee you’ll save money and they do clearly state that they make their money from affiliate links. Creators advertised the product without reading what the product is and now everyone want to throw around the word lawsuit and scam. Direct from the TOS: “PayPal does not charge fees to you for its Service. We try and locate the best publicly available discounts and coupons, track product pricing, and negotiate exclusive offers that may be better than other publicly available deals. We make money to sustain the Service when you purchase or engage with these offers. While we try and find you the best available discounts and coupons, and to identify low prices, we may not always find you the best deal. PayPal is not responsible for any missed savings or rewards opportunities.” … “Offers, coupons, and discount codes are provided subject to availability. Exclusions, restrictions, and terms and conditions (including third-party merchant exclusions, restrictions, and terms and conditions) may apply. Deals change often, and due to this, your application of offers, coupons and discount codes at checkout may or may not result in savings for your order.” It would take about 3 minutes to google that but once again they would all rather make a video and fake outrage than realize they advertised a product that does exactly what it claims to do.
I believe that there's a code of good faith business practices that dictates that you're liable if you go into an agreement in bad faith and act on it. This type of thing, hidden code to remove affiliate links, is a bad faith business practice that was not advertised anywhere so they would be liable. It's like if you signed a skydiving waiver and they fed you laxatives before the jump.
And the worst part is so many up and coming content creators just take any sponsor. Like raid? Honey? Better help? Like I get we got bills to pay but subjecting one’s community to shambles is completely idiotic. And I myself deplore all of them to read carefully about what the sponsorship is. Like a gacha creator sponsored by raid is a double whammy because both games are literally gambling!!!
I intentionally skip all sponsorships, not because I don't want them to have sponsors, but because most of them are misleading, scams, irrelevant, and most often are improperly placed in a way that takes away buyer power. And by that I mean most I've seen clearly violate minimum FTC guidelines (state the sponsor at the beginning, don't blend it in with the content, make it clear when it starts and ends).

Markiplier predicted this, wow-
I had bc a feeling it was a scam when I saw a majority of the codes were one time use/already expired
I kinda guessed that smth was off with all the relentless ads honey, better help, and now pie is throwing at your face but this is just a new low
i really love og ytbers, the good ones i mean, predicting shit like this because theyve been in the game so long lol
I noticed that we zoom in on you and not only that we move left or right like every second? Other than that great video bro
honey is owned by paypal & is subject to paypal's TOS including the terms that prevents users of paypal's products (including honey) from filing class action suits (unless you exempted yourself in a written letter back in 2022 or 2023). so basically almost no one using paypal products after that update is eligible to sue paypal in a class action suit
Using that logic, if I have you sign a contract that says I give you permission to murder me does that make it valid? No, contract is null and void if anything illegal comes about it. In this case they would have to prove fraud against Honey
cap
That's not how that works. A company's own TOS is not the be-all-and-end-all for whether or not you're allowed to sue them. If a company is violating the law then it doesn't matter what their TOS says, they're still liable. Same way that "You can't sue us for anything if you agree to this" doesn't protect you from lawsuits in the event you've caused someone's death or injury as a result of gross negligence
There is a strong case to be made that what they're doing is a form of fraud, and may also violate some consumer protection laws (under the laws of multiple countries).

Go read the TOS.
Direct from the TOS:
“PayPal does not charge fees to you for its Service. PayPal is not responsible for any missed savings or rewards opportunities.”
…
“Offers, coupons, and discount codes are provided subject to availability. Exclusions, restrictions, and terms and conditions (including third-party merchant exclusions, restrictions, and terms and conditions) may apply. Deals change often, and due to this, your application of offers, coupons and discount codes at checkout may or may not result in savings for your order.”
It would take about 3 minutes to google that but once again they would all rather make a video and fake outrage than realize they advertised a product that does exactly what it claims to do.
I mean this means he didnt lose crazy amounts of money from honey which is nice 💀💀
Most of those coupon finders are BS, 90% of the time its expired or just non-existent. Honey is useless but someone keeps giving them $$$$
Thank you for the inspiration Ohmeezzy, I just uninstalled them all LOL
I intentionally skip all sponsorships, not because I don't want them to have sponsors, but because most of them are misleading, scams, irrelevant, and most often are improperly placed in a way that takes away buyer power. And by that I mean most I've seen clearly violate minimum FTC guidelines (state the sponsor at the beginning, don't blend it in with the content, make it clear when it starts and ends).
Me so lucky that i did not press on honey
I am trying, but failing to care about functionally useless millionaire maroons getting fleeced by their own greed.
Damn peer to peer got me or they got, got😂
doesn’t trust honey but he trusts yotta???
