Great video - even if you aren’t a pro at reviewing an annual report -- the least you can do is open an annual report and attempt to read it - do it over and over and take notes

One thing that I feel is missing out and I think that would make these videos better is recap at the end. 3main takeaways/5bill akmans investing priciples reminded/recapped at the end would make them better imo. Keep up the good work! 🇫🇮
@@InvestorCenterHello, How do I find the competitors of companies like Apple, how should I know which companies are direct competitors of Apple. It's not that difficult with Apple, but what about other smaller companies, how do I find them?
I think reading about Apples competitive dynamics makes their industry or at least their place in it sound more competitive than it is. If you look at their margins and their loyal customers they don't seem to experience much "price competition". One thing I think I remember reading from Peter Thiel was if a business tries making it seem like they have a great moat in their industry, they likely don't and are just trying to make it seem that way for shareholders. If they try to make it seem they don't have a moat and are in a highly competitive industry they likely do and they're just saying that to keep anti-trust off their back.

One question. We should look for all those topics mentioned in the video in only one of the 10K´s of the same company or whe should read all them in more than one annual report from that same company? Good vid
10-Ks always were intimidating to me so I really appreciate this video. Thank you so much! Though I have to ask, can this video be used as a reliable reference for companies based outside the US? Companies like MTN (from South Africa) or Bentley (from the UK)
In my job, I also look at European companies. I would say this video is still very relevant for European companies based on my experience. However, I’m not sure about South Africa. How this answer was helpful
@@InvestorCenter thank you very much, I'll check on my side. I'm an accounting student and an aspiring CA(SA) so I don't know how much I can learn but I'll try my best to learn as much as I can about this
You’re my favorite Finance channel, if I may I’d like to ask you a question. I’m a recent college grad, having a hard time finding a financial analyst job. Which job should I get to eventually be a analyst? Thank you in advance!
My opinion would be to get a job maybe in corporate development or Mergers and Acquisitions if you can’t get a job on “Wall Street”. I think those jobs would put you in a good place to do a lot of good different jobs in the future and you would likely learn a ton
Nintendo's annual report is sooooo easy to read. Even though I think the stock is expensive I want to buy it just because of how simple the business and the annual report is 😆
Just for clarification, the annual report and the 10-K of a company are not always the same document; when both are available, the 10-K offers important details, whereas the former more is for show and marketing.
@@InvestorCenter if it was any other type of video I wouldn’t even notice but since I’m trying to pay close attention to important details I have to slow it down. Been learning a lot. Thanks.
As a Europen investor, I love 10-Ks because they are so super standardized and they get right to the point. It is a lot less work than reading the European annual reports with tons of unnecessary information on how great they do and which social projects they support.
@@InvestorCenter Exactly, you try to narrate when you should talk freely, which will make your presentation more natural and not like reading a script. It's just a suggestion, didn't mean to offend you.
@@markslesarev5024 I didn't question her intellectual capability, just her presentation methods. You should be ashamed for what your country does and for taking everything very personal, like many of your comrades.
Reading the 10K is sooo crucial! Thanks for the breakdown.

Thank you, Janik 😊
So for something like a consolidated balance sheet on a 10-k when it says (dollars in millions) every dollar is a million right?
Good stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it. Appreciate the support, Timothy!

A question, why 10-k forms of investment banks don't have quick navigation button on the top left corner,
Most other companies have that
*financial institutions' 10-k froms(Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan etc) not investment banks

I look at Sales..Debtors Creditors...Expenses..Profit...cash at bank...and retained Profits...unless it has cash in the bank it's a dead duck

Man the American voice is so annoying - i prefer the dude - I don’t know why but i find her voice is so robotic and distracting
Why do you talk like a robot? It's exhausting to follow.
