    Great job with the video and the design. I very much like the simple air intake/exit gas heat exchanger built right into the lid, and it's implemented nicely. All the best to you.

    I believe the kalle design actually had a vaccume diafram which adjusted the nozzle height to control the ammount of syngas being produced.

    the charcoal has greatly improved the reliability of this system and is highly interesting ,charcoal is made very simply as a barrel fire would do.

    You said wood gases were "mostly carbon monoxide. That is not correct. Wood gases have a significant amount of Hydrogen gas as well as a small amount of nitrous oxide and sulfur dioxide depending on the type of wood used. It definitely has a Significant volume of Hydrogen gas.

    What is the reactor pipe plumbing going to a barrel on top? Isn't that an air intake?

    If I was just using charcoal in the gas generator, the product is correctly termed "charcoal gas". However this is a hybrid charcoal gasifier since I am adding some raw wood into the hot bed of charcoal. The gas produced from this wood is then called "wood gas". To be technically correct, I need to call this gas mixture "charcoal/wood gas". Gets kind of cumbersome and I make slip ups.

    I have watched your videos and you are the only builder that uses a ceramic cracker - I'm sure some others may be posted but I have not seen them. Do you have your plans available on line or email ? Would appreciate any info.

    Is there any tar build up in the engine?

    • @peterolsen9131
      @peterolsen9131 6 місяців тому

      not using much wood so no, tar free, because using dry charcoal so no tar made , he feeds it a mix of waste sawdust/ waste oil / plastic, shredded into a hydro-carbon rich fuel . this may gum up the works after a while depending how well his reaction zone gets hot but minimal tar/creasote production i suspect
