Hello, I was recommended one of your videos and I enjoyed it very much! In this video you captured a BNSF H1, many H2s, Dash 9s, GEVOs etc! I am a lifelong fan of trains and watching Railfan videos like these is one of my passions. I am from Tennessee by the way so greetings! I have also decided to subscribe.
@ATSF 1976 I don’t go out Railfanning actually, as I’ve never tried and if I wanted to I don’t have the equipment. But yes, Norfolk Southern is very common in my homestate! From what I’ve seen it’s almost exclusively NS over here in my area. I live in the eastern parts of TN. Norfolk Southern is one of my favorite railroads as well. The others I like are BNSF, UP and CSX.
@@AlikStansberry bummer to hear that you haven't railfanned before. You done need any special equipment. If you have a tablet or phone, that works. You don't even need equipment as it's fun to see the trains in different places, wave at the head end and hope for a horn to be blown back. The power of the engines is awesome. You should go out there and see if you can see a coal train or two because I bet that is big out there.
@ATSF 1976 Maybe one day I’ll try. NS coal trains are pretty common as it is, they are likely one of the biggest coal hauling railroads out there alongside BNSF(especially before the merger). America sure loves it’s coal! I’m even considering working for NS one day, as I’ve recently graduated high school and have a diploma. It’s not fully decided as it takes time and research. And yeah, the overall power of diesel locomotives is amazing to see. I’m a big EMD guy as they have many of my favorite locomotives. Some examples; SD40-2, SD45, GP30, GP38 and 40-2s, SD60M(phase 1 triclops variant), DDA40X, F40PH, etc. I also like some GE’s; Dash 9s, B40-8W, C30-7, and others.
Great video. Have visited this area numerous times during road trips in the USA. One of my favourite places for train watching and videoing. Great town too with the old and the new parts of town, good accommodation etc. Richard, Melbourne Australia.
Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing. Glad to hear that you have been out to the states to watch trains. That line has so much freight on it that it makes it a dream to photograph or video. It's too hot to visit now in the summer, but once fall or winter roll around, I'll go out again. You ever go to Slaughterhouse Canyon in Kingman?
Hi, yes have been over to Slaughter House Canyon. Great for eastbound trains especially. Really love the whole area. Last there just before Covid doing Route 66 from Winslow back to LA after a road trip that started in Denver which included the UP mainline from Cheyenne to Ogden. Hopefully coming back next year.
@@Atsf1976 didn’t see the whole route but managed to see a few trains. Best part of that day though was Echo Canyon. Was so good I managed to get back out there during the visit to SLC.
@@richardk5849 how many trains roll through echo canyon when you were out there? I was disappointed that there were so few trains going through Helper.
Finally near the end, two trains at once. Excellent job, considering the lack of variety. This seems to be just about the same freight everywhere in the nation. Oh well, at least there doesn't seem to be any "supply chain" issue any more. Funny how after all these years BNSF hasn't repainted so many of their engines. I can't stand the yellow lettering. June 7, 2022 Missouri.
On bnsf southern transcontinental line, they mainly run intermodal trains. There are manifests, grain and oil trains too, but I didn't stay the entire day due to the heat. I will comeback here in the fall or winter because there are lots of different angles that I can explore.

Thanks for the watch, subscribe and comment. I plan to do this for a long time. Have a great week
I wonder if it was somewhere near here they filmed the train finale of How the West Was Won
Mid seventies a F111d crashed in Kingman .
The engineers don't wave from the trains anymore, not like they did back in 1954.chris
Thanks, my friend.
