As much as I like seeing those trains roll by, I really like the old architecture. Good to see the salvaging of that old railroad station. I'd like to see that old paper mill renovated and used for something, like maybe a shopping center with apartments above it.
Same here! I like filming in these areas to see the buildings. I hope they save some of them. Most are being torn down right now though. Maybe the big blue one will stay
I used to live in Hamilton right down the street from where the crossing arm got hit.... Glad you were able to finally catch a train coming off the Indy Line....
I was glad to finally see another train on that line. I think I got one or two last year but I'm not sure since I have been to so many places since then. I heard that train approaching from the other side of the river and I got stopped at every light in town on the way over. Lol
Thank you very much jaw tooth I really love watching your videos thank you for taking the time out to film this for us and for letting us watch it I really love the unique part of the Old Paper Mill it's a shame that those places done close down
Great video JT, once again people being impatient. Train vs gate, no contest. Nice to see that the city is Saving a pice of Rail road history. Nice catch on the old Indy line. Rail Fans could use that bench as well. Thanks again.🚂🚂✌🏻👍🏼
Thank you for documenting these trains in Hamilton, Ohio, Jaw Tooth! You mentioned in a previous video from Hamilton, Ohio that the city council had voted to move and preserve the old railroad station. It is nice to know that some people are willing to preserve a piece of their history. As far as your descriptions of what you are presenting to us in a video are concerned, I love all the information that you give. You usually give us information on where you are, when you were there and what we are going to see in the video. I read through everyone of your video descriptions down to where you start giving us links to previous videos. I usually just glance at those links. Please keep writing the descriptions!
Hello from the UK. That station building looks really interesting and it is good to know that it is being preserved. It certainly looks to be in very poor condition and it must have been decades since it was last used as a station. Relocating it is no easy task. Still, it looks like it had a better day than the crossing barrier!
It looks as though it could crumble to bits, I was thinking maybe they will only save that main two-story section. Will be interesting, I'm sure JT will feature it in due time!
Wow! The arm of the gate of the crossing did not resist the shock with the locomotive, and all that filmed live! Thank you for being in the right place at the right time! The arm is made of lightweight material, not likely to cause damage to the locomotive.
Thanks Jaw my rail whisperer for the effort. 1928 now that's a respectable amount of time indeed. It's really a shame old industrial infrastructure is being left behind. They could turn it into museums and multipurpose venues...
Good to hear that the Hamilton depot is getting restored. I used to see it when I visited my sister when she lived in Hamilton. I'll let her know about the restoration.
Nice catch JT of the 1st CSX train that unfortunately had no choice but to hit the crossing gate. I noticed the CSX lead locomotive had DPU capabilities. The 2nd train w BNSF, NS and CSX locomotives was a surprise to see! And I think its great to hear they've voted to save the old railroad depot! To have been built in the 1800's its really held up well! Nice job son and look fwd to seeing the next one!
Hey JT. Thanks for the update on that old station at Hamilton. Good to know it will be saved. Glad you didn't run over to pick up that gate not worth your life for something so insignificant to the train.
Fred was on the front of the train on the first one. That old Depot is so cool, I really like that paper mill too. What a colorful lash up on the 2nd train. Thanks for the Live action JT. cheers Rob
A standing issue I think - that gate was broken previously. The engineer probably couldn't have stopped in time. I hope they called it in to dispatch :) I did see some nice 5 car set articulated cars on the stack train - very cool! Hey, you got a kid and a cat from Amazon! That's pretty cool - I will have to check that out :)
Yeah, LOl. I don't think they could have stopped in time either. They knew it wouldn't hurt the train anyway. I heard the one in Kentucky get radioed in but I left my radio in the truck for this one because I was in a hurry since I just barely got there in time to film it
@@JawTooth Yes. Once we see a train roll through a loaded semi-trailer at a crossing and not derail, we know that plastic gate won't bother it at all :) Thanks for that catch!
When I was an operator at the Union Pacific's Hobart Tower in Los Angeles I used to see gates get broken by trucks at the Bandini Blvd crossing all the time. Hobart Tower governed where the UP's Harbor branch crossed the Santa Fe's main line at the west end of the Santa Fe's Hobart Yard. UP kept control of the junction in order to make certain we got our trains and switch moves across. This branch was considered a primary branch, with a lot of coal.and grain traffic. The Harbor Local also brought back a lot of automobile traffic from one of the harbors, either LA or Long Beach, I can't remember which.
With all those Winchester & Western hoppers there's a very good chance that first train originated out of Utica Illinois on CSX's former Rock Island main.
7:29 two Intermodal containers either coming from or going to Hawaii. Pasha is one of the companies who have regular boats running from the west coast to Hawaii and Guam. Total of 5 in the train. Also a lot of plain tan (unmarked). My guess is military redeployment to Pearl.
Great excellent video, mr Jaw Tooth. Not only in the U.S.A hits truck de coverbeams of the railroadcrossing also in the Netherlands. Sometimes the trucks to high and they hit the dive unders. Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands.
Actually, the truck never hits the gate. If you pause the video at 0:57 and use the period key to step through it a frame at a time, you can see that the gate starts to topple as the truck is passing the lamp post and 35mph sign before the crossing. It falls parallel to the road and the truck never touches it.
Hey jawtooth I have been watching some of your first videos you have really gotten good at filming over the years keep up the good work and thanks for the daily dose of trains

No problem!
Good morning Mr Jawtooth. It caught my attention that some of those double stacks had on the top a car that was bigger than the bottom one .
450,000 lb locomotive really crunched that crossing gate.
What a mixup on that second train BNSF,NS,CSX.
