I love the contrast between the light and joyful music you chose and your back-breaking work! The progress made is impressive! Good week ahead and please, take care of yourselves! This work can be dangerous with all those nails and heavy wood pieces.
I love how you salvage everything that's useful, and are never daunted by the scale of the project. It'll be so beautiful when it's finished. Have a good week. 🥰

These gentlemen look like they have years of experience and know what they are doing! That's exciting. The progress is enthralling, and I can't wait to see the finished product. I'm so happy you hired help. I look forward to Saturday mornings with a little cup of coffee and a long video from you guys! Keep going. You've got this.
Here in NZ that building would be encased in scaffolding costing $1500 a week, plastic sheeting, and red cones. Hard hats and harnessing would be required for those on the roof, and OSH reps would be inspecting. One certainly wouldn't work in the rain. Too dangerous. I love these guys.
Oo, how incredibly exciting to watch this beautiful building being treated with such respect. I hope you enjoy the process! Thank you for sharing, and greetings from Devon.
Thanks for sharing another video. U cracked me up with ur opera passages. Well chosen! I like how prudent u r in ur repurposing of materials n things. If u pressure clean the tiles u removed i believe a lot of them can be re-used.
Sorry for the hardship Wow. Most important you two are safe. You can rebuild. In fact this probably is a blessing in disguise although it may not seem so now , but it was a weak roof so now you build a strong roof to keep you safe a long time. Positive thoughts , CARRY ON 😁👍😘
One tip, if you dont already know it, you can burn the waste wood with the nails in it, then use a large fishermans magnet to pick them up quickly. Works well!
You need an electromagnet and power pack ...I am sure you can knock one of those up Dan :) Wow, I actually found the demolition work quite traumatizing so I look forward to seeing some reconstruction lol
I thought a lot about what to do with that old limber. In case it isnt treated with chemicals, what about just covering some soil with it and let it rot away over the years and use it as a fertilizer which is already at place? I mean without removing it anymore.

wow not much left of the house, could feel your sentiment when your beloved veranda was gone. The project is going to be much bigger than i expected. Love that you keep everything that might be useful. And it looks like you have a good team at work. Great choice of music and nice video!
“ laughter”, the sound track for removed roof is perfect 😂👍. Will any walls remain standing? 😁. Tisunami in the midle of Portugal. 😂🎉 Cross yours fingers and good luck, courage 💪
❤❤What a beautiful video, I love the music with which they edit it, what a beautiful project and how anxious I would be to be in your place, there should be no greater satisfaction than completing the project of your own house, so many illusions!! I congratulate you and I look forward to the next video!
Hi, Meraid and Dan 👋🏼😊 I vm appreciate how proactive you are in the demo of your house keeping up with sorting and burning all the scads of the wood. You have a solid chain of processing! Very kind of Peter to help. You will have firewood to get you through the rest of the decade! It's great to see that your build team is well staffed. There are enough workers to get thru the roof demo as quickly as they did. Great content and editing, guys.
Wow!! What a transformation in a week. Almost no house left. From the video it seemed like all the older men were dóing the hard graft, while the younger one was driving the machine. 🤔 Brilliant video! Loved it and hope you are pleased with the progress so far. 😊
Hi, they are moving fast, is sad to see it come down but I sure the new built will be beautiful. Nice to have friends stop by and help out. Stay well and continue success.
Well it looks like you definitely have enough supplies for any animal enclosures. 😂 Those large logs could be cut with the chain saw down the middle to create decent berms. There are more powerful magnets known as earth magnets, they're good but might be expensive. Alternative are electromagnets which auto wreckers often use. Unfortunately those require power. I can't believe the size of that hole where the wall collapsed, it's huge. Onward, hopefully these next few weeks are the messiest. Thank you for letting us watch how older buildings like this have been constructed, usually all by hand before.
Just remembered there are people looking for those old tiles, some pay for them. Used for repairs or to put a better roof where other tiles have broken.
It's a little scary watching the workmen on top house without any protective gear, guess coming from uk, health and safety has gone over the top. 😊They are so great workmen, meticulously dismantling the house. 😊
OMG, what a Job ? I like it better in fast forward ! what you call the small varanda , it was for us just the landing to feed the chickens . I hope all goes well and fast forward . best of luck !!!!!!!!
Great work. If things progress as well as that, you'll be moving in in no time. Mairead, you must feel like you're at home when it rains for days. H&S .....not a hard hat between them. Everyone stay safe 💚

You are right. It will get worse before it gets better. You will shed tears. It will look as if a bomb went off and you will wonder what ever made you think to do this. You will realize you bought a ruin, not a house. But...persevere and one day you will live in your dream.
You can never have too much fire wood. At least your neighbours might need some if they run out. As for the ash... that can go on the compost or on your soil for nutrition.
Good luck guys, so much work to do but it will all be worth it once your all done, Peter is a top man, by the way anybody who has worked on a site has worked with the green hat man!!
Scary, right? We're still waiting for our permisos. We're going to be experiencing this, too; hopefully, this year. (Btw, yes, yes we do think you're sexy. And sweet. We like you. We like you both.) Thanks for sharing this journey. It's finally starting. It's really finally starting. Muy guay.
For the ash and charcoal how about putting it through a griddle? It might be a case of six of one and half a dozen of the other though. Keep to the magnet and get some gloves. 👍🏼
Did you know before the demolition the extent that they were going to pull down. Is it just the stones you wanted to salvage as part of the building or will it be rebuilt as a replica of the old house.
Not easily because of the charcoal which would need to be picked out and we had 5 wheel barrows full of useable material and about 25 kilos of nails after the first fire. We’re managing. 🥵
Your new home project is in good hands. The wisdom and experience of a mature crew really shows. Breathe and enjoy the miracles as they create your beautiful future dream home. Awesome!

Very true
😮 I know how precious this project is. Keep smiling 😊 xx
We will do our best 🤗
Wow, so much done already.
Astonishing to see 👍
You could soak those roof tiles and bleach and water, but give a good scrub and they will come up as new.
You need a strong magnet that people use for magnet fishing to get the nails and other metal out of your ash
A stronger magnet would be better.
Love this music!
They’re certainly getting a move on.
They sure are.
Great Progress 👍
Thanks 👍
How nice to see a properly built burn pile!
Thanks 😊
Getting on with it great 😊
Rock on!
you are a so nice couple...love your VIDEOS
That’s very kind. Thank you 😊
Wow. Looks like they are tearing the whole place down. Hope most can be saved and rebuilt
It’s being carefully deconstructed so that materials can be reused 😊
you could sift the ash through something and pick the nails out that are left. Just a suggestion.
Love this beautiful video
Thank you so much!
👏👏👏 obra limpa. Bom avanço👏👏🤗🤗 nunca pensaram que ia cair tanta estrutura, certo? 😮
Sabíamos que a madeira ia cair toda. Tudo bem. 👍😊
It will be interesting to see how they shore up those stone walls. You need an electro magnet for those nails lol.
We’ll see soon 😊
The son of his father and a happy tractor driver
I had to rewind and look at that poncho twice. Did they really need the hole? 😂😂
I thought the same but I think it’s a motorcycle poncho and the hole is for the headlamp. 😂
WOW, I'm excited about watching what happened in your house. ❤

You are in Spain? Waiting is all part of the story 😊
@@NearbyVeggies, yes, Asturias. People are so used to having to wait that they just shrug. It frustrates everyone, but they face the reality.

Keep to the magnet and get some gloves. 👍🏼

Did you know before the demolition the extent that they were going to pull down. Is it just the stones you wanted to salvage as part of the building or will it be rebuilt as a replica of the old house.
Not a replica because we want a bathroom and fewer rooms than the original and insulation etc. 👍
Invest in a magnet for the Ash
Did you check the inside of the pockets on the clothes?
Yes we did and the linings too 😂
A course riddle would would to sieve the nails out of the ash? They’re not hanging about!
try doing an initial sift of the pile before using the magnet?
We tried but it was extra work. Thank you for your suggestions 😊
❤
Not sure I have seen the plan of the finished product. Doesn't look like enough left to tag on to.
🌟👏👍🍀💐
Can you separate the nails from the ash using a garden sieve?
Not easily because of the charcoal which would need to be picked out and we had 5 wheel barrows full of useable material and about 25 kilos of nails after the first fire. We’re managing. 🥵
❤
How about using a sieve, not a kitchen one a gardening sieve didn't you have a round one?
