Can't imagine the poor homeless people and stray animals...poor both will suffering
Nice ! Many Things are Different in Cooler Climate Nations ! There are LESS PEOPLE - so Everybody gets to go to a Shelter !
What a tasteless time to be making a joke.
Xblu501 Agree.
Xblu501 What joke?
Animals are hibernating hun and homeless are in shelter🤷
Why does she have to be outdoors to report this?
I believe they call it live on location. But my biggest *shake-my-head* moment is the anchor asking a dumb question to the reporter "What is the situation there like right now?" Seriously!!!???
Coz...global warming is real. Lmao !!!
Cause they haven't got a green screen so the poor woman has to be live reporting natural winter weather
Well, what an occasion: Snow in Canada!

Sure. State of emergency. But let’s KEEP THIS REPORTER OUTSIDE
pretendperfection Reporters employment risk. They report near most major storms and wars, why not a blizzard?
We’re having a great week of -40 in Calgary, schools are still open but that whiteout indeed is terrible

Lucky those kids are going to have a snow day x10
No lucky kids not until the weather settles down. Right now with the wind speeds and cold, the depth of the drifts and snow makes it incredibly dangerous to be out in. It's very easy to get frostbite in this kind of cold and wind any exposed skin is at risk. Yes, including your face and eyes, ears, fingertips and feet.
@@paulanull8731 are you serious you don't know what a snow day is. It's an unplanned holiday kids get to STAY HOME.
It's a Canadian tradition dating back to the dawn of time LOL.

Very North WI/MN home of 40 below F. and Frostbite Falls. (Rocky and Bullwinkle's home town) January is a particularly dangerous month for deep cold just off of Lake Superior. We got snow days but staying home wasn't great fun where I grew up. We'd clean house. Top to bottom. A no holds event with scrubbing our walls, furnishings and floors. Even our toys and the basement! Then we could play etc. but usually the break would be over by then or we'd get one day. Sigh. We did get hot cocoa and great breakfasts though so that made up for some of it.
@@paulanull8731 Thats tough but just because it wasn't fun for you doesn't mean the kids won't have fun.
Also we always go to school even if its -40 here in Alberta but a blizzard isn't the same thing
Enjoy Trudeau's carbon tax...you voted for him. I wonder which tropical vacation Trudeau will be taking this year...mean while back in Canada 46% of Canadians will be destitute and to poor to travel.
Why is it necessary for reporter to be outside for news update?
Because she was told to?
@Trevor To show how bad it is to be outside!
This is a joke, if it was cold she would have had frost bite by now. only -14. They are in panic mode for nothing. Doesn't St Johns hove snow removal equipment ???

So will anyone have enough common sense to check on the elderly and the homeless.
Good question, seeing as this state of emergency may last for several days. One would hope so, anyway, or have some type of contact information available in case of emergencies.

The snow is not the big issue but the whiteout conditions certainly makes it unsafe. The snowplows are not allowed to go out in these whiteout conditions.

She is not wearing a balaclava so it could not be that cold. -14 C, I think they are not used to weather like this. We get it all the time in Winnipeg, except much colder. In 2014 the snow on the ground was over 3 feet and Winnipeg is in the open prairie with very high winds. Schools don't close unless it is -40.
I was at the superstore while this happened and we had to stay in our car forever.

@@5zazen what do you mean?
I had three feet of snow in front of my door, earlier today. With drifts, I had to clear snow up to four feet. The street I live on, had one quick, passing by the plow, and there was close to twelve feet from the sidewalk to where the plow cleared the snow. That was an extra twelve feet of snow clearing, with snow roughly, three feet deep. Loads of work, I tell you. Though it was mild and clear by noontime and perfect weather for this type of thing. It's nearly, 10:00 p.m. now, as I type this, the day after, and our street is still, not cleared beyond this point.
We have had at least, three significant snow storms since Christmas, back to back, pretty much, and we are really, running out of places to put it now. I'm having that problem myself.
Well, we don't have rail to worry about, but somehow, we manage to keep everything else, running, pretty well.
Brits have been a hardy bunch in the past, so I'm unsure of why you are unable to get on top of these types of things better, now.

Minneapolis, Minnesota has had 23 inch snow storms, as early as Halloween. We do not get them that often, but I do remember businesses closing early ahead of storms. Minnesotan's just kinda shrug, don'tcha know.
And in Vancouver people are wearing shorts and playing outdoor tennis.

Mad max 666 yes but she can’t get out. No driving, no flying.
Shouldn't it be normal for Canadians?
No, we are entering a Grand Solar Minimum, the storms we're going to see, almost no one but the Natives who were here during the last one (that went from the late 1300-1850's) would have experienced and talked about it.
@@Beetlejuice699 Well, if canadian says its bad then apparently its indeed bad
Maple Leaf white-outs are nothing to fool around with. We were once caught in a white-out with 2 families travelling by horse drawn covered sleigh. The horses got off trail and the men had to locate the trail and then walk beside the horses the rest of the way till we got to shelter. We were very lucky to survive. The wind chill in a white-out makes them extremely dangerous. Only a fool takes unnecessary chances in such extreme weather. The scenes they are showing are in town where buildings interrupt the wind flow, conditions will be far worse in the open and on the highways.
It is, overall. My Best. Out.

We're it's hot, it's much hotter and in a greater area of the world. But in areas that get cold will get more severe cold too but smaller and smaller areas are covered by those. The circulation broke and so heat can build up more causing more stalling and more extremes. These shown here are local not global. Globe can still be hotter in average.
