I have been there. The only feeling I have got is that I don't feel like going back to my regular life. It feel like there is a kid in me who is stubbornly resisting to not go back to my normal work, life etc. I just felt like I want to stay there forever. Btw, I am an Australian citizen and I live in Melbourne, one of the most livable cities in the world,. I am doing well and living a happy life, However, Rishikesh vibes are next level and if life gives me a choice i would go back anytime.
Be it varanasi or rishikesh or even ujjain, for me all these cities are adobe of a god whom i love the most, my baba/father/grandfather/ teacher my lord shiva, whenever i go to these cities i feel the same energy as if he's watching me, consoling me, telling me he's my gaurdian. Har har mahadev.
I doubt the existence of God but when I am near mother ganga... in the ghat of rishikesh, I could feel the presence of her whispering into the ears, by her presence , anyone sitting beside her is bound to bow down in reverence. She is live mighty, sees, speaks. You will understand when you meet her in these ghats.
Many divine souls have blessed this land in thousands of years...if any one has that receptive divinity never fails to realize the divinity of this place...

From here River Gangaenters to main land.Afterwords long journey will starts approximately about 1000 Kilometers upto Calcutta .From Haridwar to Calcutta Ganga has been polluted by drainage water all sorts of industrial wastes etc.
Main ganga arti in Rishikesh isperformed at Parmarth Niketan ghat . That is also a big event . Where everyou go this place definately gives you peace . There are so many temples even in these markets . I just love this place .
Another famous drink in Rishikesh was Bhang! I don't know whether they banned it now, but it would really make you high. It's funny because it was available in tea stalls, juice shops etc as it was a non alcoholic drink and ancient Indians from 1000BC used to drink that.
Hi guyz I would suggest jab bhi India aane ka mauka mile Rishikesh zaroor jaye, this place is a cocktail of Yoga, Adhyatm,sports,adventure har cheez ka. Rishikesh ki Ganggaji me har jagah boat nahi chal sakti coz waha paani ki speed bht tez hoti hn. Markets there is also not much expensive. M from Banaras n Rishikesh har do 3 mahine pe jats hu warna mere lungs jawab dene lagte hn😂😂😂😂.

Dear Moazzam, I have been to to wholly city Haridawar UttraKhand state many times & watchef this aucipious occasion of Arti performance. Apart from festival, every day around about fifty to six thousands pilgrimage gafher their on the banks of river Ganga ji in the evening & pray there. During festivals the number of pilgrimages are increased by ten times. Nodoubt the occasion is full of joy for all. About twelve kms is Paranjle Ashram managed by Yog Guru Baba Ramdev ji where sweats, break fast, lunch & dinners are preoared in Desi Ghee. Also there is Ayuvedic Hispital also managed by Patanjle Trust. About thirty kms from Haridawar is Roorkee city where famous university of technology & allied sciences is functioning there. About a hunderd kms is famous Saharanpur city UP with population of twenty lakhs, a city known for wooden furnitures & carvings on the wood. About sixty percent population is muslims. One can find Desi Ghee sweats & desi ghee veg & non veg foods. I have traveled all these cities. Thanks.
