Good job ........ I'll try to pic something on Spotify. I just don't use it...sorry. But u did awesome. Me and the wife laughed our CHRISTIAN ASS OFFFFFFF!!!!!! GREAT JOB.
Hey Jeff, maybe some Sacred Warrior or Vengeance Rising next time. Or Believer or The Crucified. Or Shout or even One Bad Pig. Shane might become a Pig fan.
He was one of the best lead singers I ever heard. He had a powerful voice that set the standard for metal vocalists in my opinion. Messiah Prophet will always be one of my favorite if not my very favorite band.
Abi all Christians know that the nine months that we spent in the womb we’re not the true incubation. But the true incubation is the years we spend growing in our human bodies so take joy, and knowing your father was molded to sing for the king in his presence.
I saw Messiah Prophet in concert they were pretty awesome. I dont think they lasted very long. They probably were in my Top 5 all time Christian Bands.
This album and this song was a staple in my music collection. The artwork is insane!!! I used to skateboard to this all the time. I haven’t listened to this song in yeeeears!!! So cool!!!
I used to listen to this song all the time. Right along with Exodus, Testament and all. It was a solid jam. Need's remastered now though. Technology has come a long way. Still a good reach back in time. 🤘✌️
This is rather new to me since I wasn't really allowed to listen to anything real heavy then. However this is really awesome and I'm just discovering Christian metal (older 1980's-90's) and love it.
I know what I was doing in 1986 when this album came out...ironically I was raising money for my local church as a teenager with a 10 speed bike race in our town...This album brings back so many memories back then when Metal was at its highest in the year 1986 and yes it was ...more than any other year I feel
Another AWESOME Christian heavy metal band was Scarlet Red!!! You should give the song You Live Fast a listen. If you like the Dokken like sound then I think you'll love this band.
I had this cassette back when it came out. Some old lady at our church owned a "Christian Bookstore" and saw this on an order form or something. I was in high school and into heavy metal, so she asked me about the band, and I told her to definitely buy a few copies. I saw Messiah Prophet play in the KC area at the KC Opry opening for Bloodgood on their Detonation Tour. Definitely a Manowar vibe with a little Saxon and Judas Priest.
Messiah Prophet Is my all time favorite christian metal band. Unfortunately The lead singer has passed away in 2018. But thank you for checking this awesome band
I am the 100th to give thumbs up. For me this was the heaviest Christian metal for the longest time. I try not to over play faves as to keep them fresh. Somewhere there is a recent and lengthy interview of the surviving original members. They explain why the band turned to softer rock in the final album. There is also raw footage of the original lineup at the Cornerstone Festival around 1986. Other metal obscurities from the same are the concert anthems 'Warriors of Light' by Christian band Force 3 and 'Mind Over Metal' by the secular band Tyton.
Very Priest sounding… yeah I remember them.. check out Barren Cross - Rock for the king, imaginary music … tell me what you think of the singers vocal.
That whole Atomic Arena album is a great classic, and Imaginary Music couldve been a great hit if the industry werent so anti- christ.. Their next album was pretty damn good too: "State of Control"... and their debut, Rock for the King is def worth hearing, as well, I agree
Mastodon is pronounced just like the metal band (Mastodon). Mastedon is a project of John Elefante, the singer of Kansas, and his brother Dino. “It’s a Jungle Out There” was a great hard rock record. Someone should request something from that, IMO the best track is “Wasn’t it Love,” which was supposed to be a Kansas song. Also, someone NEEDS to request “White Throne” from Vengeance Rising soon.
I believe so. The album is unusual in that Elefante uses several different vocalists, and doesn’t handle vocals himself until the 3rd track, which is surprising as IMO he is a great singer. Kerry Livegren, the guitarist from Kansas, took a similar approach, even using Ronnie James Dio on a couple of tracks.
"Seeds Of Change" is one of my favorite Christian albums. If by chance you haven't seen it yet, there's UA-cam footage from 1980 with Steve Walsh covering "Mask Of The Great Deceiver". I was pleasantly surprised.
I love the stuff you do... I have seen a lot of bands in Christian Metal that I loved... Gonna add some that you may have covered and some you may have missed... 1. Crucified 2. Believer 3. Rage of Angels 4. Scattered Few Sorta Punk 5. Force 3 6. Vengence Rising 7. Applehead 8.Sacred Warrior 9. Undercover 10. Mad World 11. Chrisvox
I believe we've talked about Messiah Prophet before. There are two albums Rock the Flock and Master of the Metal. Both albums would benefit greatly from being remastered. Of the two the second album in my opinion is better. They were working on recording a third album even played a few songs live but their record label had financial issues and couldn't afford to get them into the studio. I think they could have gone on to great things had they had the backing. The song Blinded comes from this time period. Alas the band just simple faded away.
Normally I never... and I mean NEVER pay attention to "reaction" videos of ANY sort. Saying that? I like how you approached this music. Also in saying that you shared one of THE BEST classic Christian Metal songs/albums from the 80s 🙂 I bought this cassette the very first week it was released... and played it for soooooooo many years until it basically fell apart 🤭 Thank God I have had the digital versions of the whole album on my pc and phone ever since. Master of the Metal is top 10 in my book for life 🤙
Cool pick and never heard of this band, just recently subscribed to you. First video I saw was Sacred Warrior - Black Metal, then this one. I like all kinds of metal. Anyhow cool show and cheers!
The return of Jams for Jesus!🤘That was a straight up "OK" for me. I thought the opening riff was similar to AC/DC's Dirty Deeds, and I agree on the Lick It Up similarity with the riff toward the end. Vinnie Vincent had his fingers in so many pies throughout the 80's that it wouldn't surprise me if there were a less-than-6-degrees of separation somewhere in this story....
I’m not really into saying “better”, “best”, “worst”, with bands, especially, Christian bands (unless they are extremely good or bad), as I just need more. I’m in a group on FB and are finding new AND old bands, to add to my own library, playlists and reposting and sharing with others. Thanks for your review! This was one of the first bands, whose cassettes, CD’s and digital music I’ve purchased! I would have loved to have bought the vinyl for the artwork alone!
Brings back memories! Now check out Apostle, Watchmen, Xalt, Barnabas, and Saint to name a few from the old days and lesser known bands. A current band fav is Theocracy. And bands still playing & touring like Stryper & Whitecross!
I liked this band. 80's metal at its finest. Blinded was one of their newer songs after their "Master of the Metal" release, and IMO, it sux, and I never heard any thing from them afterward. I listened to this album when I was going to highschool, and other metal heads liked them too. Edit: Master of the Metal is one of my favorites.
This band is the poster chid for “what if??” I love this band and album. I can’t remember the names of the members are, but I know he passed away about 20 years ago. The song “blinded” was recorded with no original members other that the singer. Charlie Clarke was his name. RIP
I have a soft sport for early Christian Rock / Metal. Considering the market (Church didn't necessarily want them and the industry didn't know what to do with them). in a few short years it didn't take long for bands to get parity with their mainstream counterparts even generating a few genre defining acts. "Master of the Metal" and "Heavy Metal Thunder" are the only two Messiah Prophet songs I've ever heard.
They suck. I had this album when it came out, and it wasnt even really good then but had a couple good songs on it, and the title track aint one of em.. Battle Cry is prolly the best song. It has a slow intro, but it builds
As a preachers kid this genre was literally a God send. I wasn't allowed to have secular music in my collection and The Gold City Quartet wasn't exactly within my musical taste. As long as I bought it at the Christian Book Store I could have any music I wanted...lol
Great song, i bought this tape back in the 80s and christian metal has evolved since the early days of christian metal,, also check out Holy Soldier, Believer, and Deliverance, 🤘
Look at that cover!? You can say Messiah Prophet that way all day long my friend! Shane you are awesome bro! That whole album was phenomenal. I could listen to that all the time. It bummed me out that they didn't record more albums.
Easily my favorite Christian metal album. Saw them in 1986 at Cornerstone festival. Do yourself a favor and listen to the last two tracks ( they blend into each other). I can't stay seated hearing Fear No Evil
Hei Bro, are you ok?? Maybe You sould hear Full Metal Racket album of Dreamer Band, it is very cool. thanks for doing a reaction of messiah prophet band
Ah yes! We have done Die Happy on the channel, but not the song Melrose. Soooo, I will check it out in your honor my friend! Messiah prophet is no longer this was the last album with clark on vocals. Their first album rock the flock 1984 was ok. After this they disbanded in 1985 with almost a complete line up including vocalist 1995 colors was a terrible album. I still have the 1984 and 1986 albums on cassette along with about anothet 600 cassettes. I have collected just about every album from the 70s thru the 90s.

Hey Jeff, maybe some Sacred Warrior or Vengeance Rising next time. Or Believer or The Crucified. Or Shout or even One Bad Pig. Shane might become a Pig fan.
My dad was the lead singer and I love seeing people still discover their music 30+ years after it came out 💜
your dad kicks ass!
Tell him we still rock this awesome metal.
He was one of the best lead singers I ever heard. He had a powerful voice that set the standard for metal vocalists in my opinion. Messiah Prophet will always be one of my favorite if not my very favorite band.

I am very sorry for the loss of your dad, way too young. Had the pleasure to see them live and meet him. He glowed with the love of God.
heavy metal thunder is my go to track when i do long rides with my motorbike
A great one by Messiah Prophet is "Battle Cry."
I saw Messiah Prophet in concert they were pretty awesome. I dont think they lasted very long. They probably were in my Top 5 all time Christian Bands.

Love Messiah Prophet! Have both albums on cassette, and this one on cd as well. They are some of my prize possessions!
Clark the lead singer of Messiah Prophet died last year. I saw them in concert in 1987 In Indy. They are from PA.
ah man, that is sad to hear.
Very sad. I knew Charlie Clark. He lived 2 houses from me and my mom. Him and his family are great great people. He is in glory now.
Really?!? Wow! So sorry to hear this. 😢
How was his singing live?
I used to listen to this song all the time. Right along with Exodus, Testament and all. It was a solid jam. Need's remastered now though. Technology has come a long way. Still a good reach back in time. 🤘✌️
