it adds the value to the car cause now you have a full history of the car and background. It can not be honester and the crash did not harm the remaining value.
Top man for Jason getting in touch, giving you the history and forwarding all the paperwork and book . Can't believe that is a Cat S !! 🤯 Thanks for Sharing fella
Great Job done Joe. Insurance companies always seem to write cars off, I guess it is just easier to do that, than instead of doing the work. Have a great week Joe and Team.
It's a purely financial decision. "Write off" equals "beyond economical repair". Often now the hire car provision cost is enough to swing the balance the wrong way
Inner wing was damaged when the outer wing got ripped off, any bolt on only parts would be cat N, inner wing is welded so structural..........as said in many other vlogs, insurance assessors are working from pics and gone mad!
Light damage that, good to know As others have mentioned being 2020, assessor's were not going out to inspect cars, so potentially given CatS via pics and to cover their ass perhaps airing on caution. Also factoring in parts delays etc and potentially someone from Co Part having their eye on it for a rebuild and wanting the salvage to be cheaper being a S over an N ;-)
Yes I know the person at Bentley Cheshire who’s in charge of arts supply worldwide and the trouble she had dealers needing parts Cars were written off as they couldn’t get the parts and had been waiting on some parts 6 months to no avail
Hello from Ireland again, Joe. What a wicked story, and chatting with Jason. So Cool. Jesus, it does look bad, and expensive, oil coolers, bumper, and cosmetics, but it's not a crazy job, to fix. Did you see Rob's video from yesterday, Joe? He has got the same Porsche Cayenne, 2008, in black, and he got it in as a Trade, for a BMW. Interesting video, you should watch that, Mate. Fair play to Jason, he's the Man. Respect 🙏 🙏👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
In 2020 only copart were selling so I started buying from there. You had to use their delivery service, with fees it was basically doubling the bid price, 1k to 2k delivered. I had some right horrors, none really worked out. A golf turned up and the driver says, how many pedals do you want to work, 3?,ha,ha it's got 1, no brakes, no clutch
The cat system is relaiant on the assessors Judgment which is why its all over the place. This was mostly likley a cat S because the headlight panel us welded to the core support so "technically" part of the structure BS if you ask me
I cannot see any bolts in that wing ! No wonder it ripped off ..there's no bolts on the inner wing where it would of bolted on ! BUT this could be because they took them out to get the wing off to manoeuvre it from there ?
I’m new to your channel, and I’m really enjoying your content 👍 do you think maybe in a future episode you could give some advice from the sellers perspective on how to get the best price for your car ? Is it better to fix a small dent before selling or have your wheels refurbished or just take the hit from the dealer ? What are the little things we can do to get the best possible price for our car ! ….. thank you love the channel 👍
Most likely written off from a few pics and given a cat s at the same time, they weren't coming out to assess then. Copart do there own in house assessment now and report back to the insurance company, sometimes the insurance company doesn't pass this on to hpi, so a lot of unrecorded cars about. Pay 7.99 for a salvage check and it'll have the original copart pictures. Virtually every accident damaged car goes thru copart. Good result being so light.
What a piece of good fortune to get the background on the cars past! I personally feel that insurers are too lazy to go into the precise nature of car damage which was certainly the case of my partner's car. I would enter if I could only get the hang of the website!
Insurance companies will write a car off even for only cosmetic damage. If it is repaired on the cheap and panels no longer fit as they should i would walk away. Yes you can improve them, but they will never be as they left the factory.
insurance companies use weighted matrices that are stacked against an economical repair. A write off is merely a statement that the vehicle could not be repaired economically, but actually, often they can! The matrixes insist on labour rates, and brand new OEM Branded parts. as soon as any suspension components are damaged it moves from N to S. If they write off a car, it goes to support an entire repair industry, copart is usually the first stop. They are a bunch of shiesters on their own! but when you dig deeper you can see exactly why insurance premiums are so high. I speak from direct experience, and happy to chat.
If you know the salvage market you’ll know , this was easily written off! I’m surprised you got involved with salvage stock.. mainly as your putting your name to something you have no idea who has repaired it or if it was done properly.
I've found most (all) cat c or s are never done right, just cobbled together by some likely lads (to be polite) I find these days you just can't sell them, even on cheapies, people are scared to death of them. Doing a raffle is probably the best way as someones getting it for a couple of quid.
well if i had hit a tree, i`d have photographed it , but that`s me , and the angle that the wings been torn off doesn`t make sense, looks like its hit an oncoming vehicle , hey ho, what do i know🙄🙄

An afternoons work for Chris and Rob!
Jason. Its official. You are THE MAN! 😄
Cracking result ! : Looks like it just needed bolt on parts. I think I'm going to enter. Nice gesture from Jason, in sending you the service books.
Treemendous! Good information Joe. Having watched so many channels fixing salvage vehicles it looks minimal.
Structural will probably be the headlight support that bolts to the inner wing, see this sort of damage all the time
Hey Joe , How about a few free Raffle tickets for Jason as a thank you for the service history ? It would add to the Irony if he won it back !
It was probably never seen by an assessor, 2020 was Covid times when you sent photos into insurance and they never looked in detail at the vehicle.

Thats a very superficial bit of damage really. Could have been far worse for the driver. Lucky guy😊
Maybe parts after covid was difficult to get and it’s cheaper to write cars off ,rather than pay for hire cars until the bits arrive

the " catergory " S or N system is so inconsistently applied that it really gives absolutely no indication of damage extent
He was very lucky to have gotten away with that! Trees dont usually mess about!

Hi Joe, the car hard been cat S because the headlight panel it spot welded on those front ends so technically structural damage
Looks perfect, can’t wait to take delivery! 😂😂

Very superficial damage for a big old tank like that

A vehicle score check will tell you the private number plate that was on the car and what car Jason is driving now.
In it to win it, I won't show this video to the misses, though. It looked well mangled to my untrained eye.
Naaa happy with the lack of substantial damage, just bought £20 worth, good luck all.
If the spare key has been taking off the system on the car then it won’t work
