Bully absolutely deserves a sequel. It was an excellent fun romp. But as you said in your video. With RDR and GTA I really don't see them putting in the effort....sadly.
Despite the janky controls, and the fact I could never get all 50 lessons done in any playthrough (damn you, Biology 5!), I loved playing Canis Canem Edit on PS2. From your accent, Fizhy, I'm fairly sure you remember the moral panic in the UK about a game being called Bully.
I look at this in the same way I see the Piers Brosnon 007 era. Fun at the time, but very much of its time. In the wake of the grittier Daniel Craig films, I can't ever see them reverting to the zany gadgets and cheesy bombast of the latter Brosnon movies. Likewise, Rockstar returning to the world of Bully after making RDR2 and the upcoming GTA would be quite a culture shock unless they dramatically revamped the tone of that universe. I don't mean this to sound as wanky as it will likely sound, but as much fun as Bully was, Rockstar Games have grown up a lot since then, and perhaps it's better left in the past. That said, I'll play anything they release. They've earned lifelong loyalty from me.
Yea yes it really needs a sequel!! This game was really awesome, also while trying to get to class I went downstairs when.i needed to go upstairs & as I was just about to enter the room I got blindsided my a perfect , but Instead of that cut sence, i actually made it inside 😅
I love to imagine a full remake of this game. A fully redone story, the amount of new characters and tropes they could use for comedic value. A much larger map with more mini games. Imagining this game with the kinda detail of RDR2 and the charm of the original. You'd love to see it man. And a sequel would be just as good.
I think the main issue is, if you continue Jimmy’s story and he is over the age of 16. He can drive, thus making it a GTA game..? I’m sure there are work arounds however
fizhy should check out the warriors ps2 game by rockstar if he hasn't, it features a similar brawly combat style to Bully and is incredibly fun but i really would love to see a bully sequel in our life time
You can't cram flying bikes with guided missiles and orbital laser canons fot 50$ each into a game about school hooligan. And this why we'll never see a Bully sequel
My ideal sequel would be same name, same school. That's it. Play as a new character entering Bullworth Academy. New teachers, new tech, town map a bit bigger, but the school is still full of shitty kids and shitty teachers. Might be cool to be able to have divergent storylines depending on if you play as a boy or a girl. Having to deal with another Gary, or a mean girl that bullies in more of a mean girl fashion. Like Rockstar, please take these free ideas lmao
Since there was that article about the canceled sequel, I wish we could at least get to see some of the assets, Jimmys updated design and a summarization of the story. I know we won’t get to see it but it would be nice to fantasize about what could be😊
I think it deserved sequel, but it’s been scrapped more than once so I don’t think we’ll get it. As much as I enjoy Red Dead and GTA, Bully was truly something no other Rockstar game has been. By far my fav mechanic in Bully that I would have liked in RDR/GTA is the ability for other people to get in trouble. In Bully, if someone attacks you, the prefects/cops go after them. In RDR/GTA, cops just ignore someone shooting at you until you fight back, then you’re the one with the wanted level. So annoying.
Well of COURSE it deserves one, it was a great piece of art! The ACTUAL question is whether or not it NEEDS one. Given it's running streak of commentary, I say hell yes! Does Jimmy or anyone from this school/town age into roles in something like GTA? Both worlds seem equally miserable and corrupt, both feature crooked adults in undeserved power, you have money and politics behind the scenes of both-- so where does this go, and how does it connect?
I say after Hogwarts Legacy ended up as the Highest selling game of 2023 if Rockstar Games doesn't realize the Potential of a Next Gen School Simulation game I feel like their missing out on so much money and a chance to truly make a new statement in Gaming when it comes to what they can achieve. Think about what they achieved with RDR2 and imagine it scaled down to small town and a school campus. School activities and clubs,Cliques and Rivalrys, different Sport teams you can join and form rivalries against,Numerous Romantic Partners and crushes, and things to spread across the School season like Halloween and Christmas with the big finale being Prom.
It's such a Tragic that "Bully" only became just a 1 Stand Alone Game and never kicked off to become a Franchise like GTA, Red Dead and even Max Payne.
Idk i feel like wanting a bully sequel is like wanting a Pulp Fiction sequel, both arts are well rounded and absolutely, positively dont need one. Bully was never meant to be a franchise, it was just a fun game made between SA and IV that turned out to be a masterpiece overall.
Still have a lot of love for this game. It’s got a real charm to it and still holds up today, and all the things that are ‘wrong’ with it are just due to the time it was created. Honestly with all of the reports of Rockstar employee morale being low due to the pressure of deadlines and overwhelming fan demand, putting a Bully project on the table could be beneficial for them. Don’t get me wrong, by no means is the fan base small, but it’s not as big or as heavy handed as the GTA and RDR franchises. Just creating a fun game that values the old style of Rockstar’s tongue and cheek social commentary and lack of fucks to give when it comes to putting stuff in a video game over stunning visuals or an iceberg deep story, could be a breathe of fresh air for the developers. And when the developers have fun, they create phenomenal games where the players can have fun. It wouldn’t generate billions, but the budget wouldn’t require hundreds of millions, so it wouldn’t need a massive sell out for a profit. I also think it’d do a lot for Rockstar’s image after years of dropping the ball with remasters, RDO, lack of DLC’s and radio silence in the face of fan complaints. Actually listening to a request that’s been ignored for years. Financially, they don’t need to make a sequel. But I think the overall benefits from making a sequel, make the possibility of it higher than most people think.
I mean, you never know, it’s not like rockstar forgot about the game There are references to bully in GTA and red dead two. There’s definitely still hope for it just obviously not before GTA6 plus red dead came out in 2010 and that game got a sequel 8 years after the first
I think judging by the way Rockstar has been treating GTA online and it's brother Red Dead online a new bully game would never live up to the original. Bully online, would ironically be full of bullying in the form of toxic griefing, and pay to win microtransactions that otherwise take ages to grind manually. I think Bully should just be remembered as the great game that it was and let good franchises go out with dignity.
As much as I'd like a bully sequel What could you really do with it You would have to get a new protagonist Unless you put jimmy in college But by then It might as well be Some kind of g t a game
I really hope bully gets a sequel idk if I think they should go back to bullworth years later w a new character new cliques some of the old ones to I think if they also had a older Jimmy at the school who works at bullworth maybe even head master probably not but gotta at least have him as an Easter egg
Would be cool if we had a older jimmy hopkins in gta6 as a freaks and stranger mission where we do a favour for him while he talks about his past in his highschool days
I think it at least deserves a remaster. Update the graphics in the newer engines. Pump more content into it with side quests and more town to explore and do. Just put the old team on it pump a half descent budget into it and be done.
The best thing about fully completing all the classes is you don’t have to worry about being late or getting in trouble because you’ve done them all and it gives you more time to explore.

That said, I'll play anything they release. They've earned lifelong loyalty from me.
The only thing good about this game is the soundtrack
Im glad they did no sequal. They would ruin it tbh.
Man I haven't played this game in ages, this video made me want to play it again lol
What would happen in bully 2 ? Jimmy goes to college ? Nah man its perfect the way it was 1 and done.
I think the main issue is, if you continue Jimmy’s story and he is over the age of 16.
He can drive, thus making it a GTA game..?
I’m sure there are work arounds however
Maybe to expand upon the bully foundation, go to different countries with notorious bullying cultures (ex. Japan) and its implications/satire
fizhy should check out the warriors ps2 game by rockstar if he hasn't, it features a similar brawly combat style to Bully and is incredibly fun
but i really would love to see a bully sequel in our life time
I’ll have a look sometime if I get the chance
Bully, was my best childhood memory game
You can't cram flying bikes with guided missiles and orbital laser canons fot 50$ each into a game about school hooligan. And this why we'll never see a Bully sequel
I’m the rapper Catskill on the cover of the Bully video game
I think there should be a game that is connected to bully but a different name
Might be the best approach
Makes me wanna replay it….👀
LMAOOOOOOO that EDL line about Jimmy's hair made me spit out my water😂😭😆😭
As much as I'd like a bully sequel
What could you really do with it
You would have to get a new protagonist
Unless you put jimmy in college But by then It might as well be Some kind of g t a game
Bully, Manhunt, The Warriers and Maxpayne 3 are some Rockstars more under looked games.
LA Noire also deserves better.
No denying that
I don’t think they could make a proper sequel. It’s an awesome game, but should stay a one-off.
I really hope bully gets a sequel idk if I think they should go back to bullworth years later w a new character new cliques some of the old ones to I think if they also had a older Jimmy at the school who works at bullworth maybe even head master probably not but gotta at least have him as an Easter egg
Man, Rockstar really poisoned themselves with greed. They would rather make a real casino that good games anymore.
Music feels off,
Video format somehow got worse.
Target audience changed.
Would be cool if we had a older jimmy hopkins in gta6 as a freaks and stranger mission where we do a favour for him while he talks about his past in his highschool days
At this point I think rockstar has stopped making smaller franchises and has turned entirely to red dead and GTA
Ya know they have a bully Easter egg in GTAV (Jimmy) 👀
We almost got bully2 but because of stupid parents think this game is so violence to children education and turn them into bully
I think it at least deserves a remaster. Update the graphics in the newer engines. Pump more content into it with side quests and more town to explore and do. Just put the old team on it pump a half descent budget into it and be done.
This game is such an amazing game and there is so much they could do for the second bully it's a shame they won't do a second one
