Great video as always. Thanks for sharing your settings. I’m Thinking about purchasing a Manticore. Your display case is awesome. Thanks for showing it.
Thank you for watching mate 😊👍. If you did buy a Manticore, you certainly wouldn't regret it, it's an amazing machine 👌. You can always give Jordan at Dragon Detecting a call on 01792 687321, mention Digger Dan and he will throw in a load of freebies with your order too 😊😊👍
Dan you are a legend! Start off under the old oak and finish with a rare treat of your spectacular finds cabinets and work in progress table. Thank you buddy for sharing a great video, look forward to more next week, no pressure lol, again many thanks and all the best from Somerset 💯💯👍🏻👍🏻✨
Oh wow DD, great days dig. As for your collections, gob smacked! Amazing M8. I'm amazed when medieval people were so poor that they lost so much silver!!? Cheers, John.
Great video again Dan. Thanks for the update on settings, I’ll try them with the new M9 at the weekend. Love the display, especially the watch winders! Keep up the good work.
Hi Dan, that beautiful piece of pot on your desk.... I'm pretty sure it's the part of a jug which is call grimston ware mid 12th to 13th century that funny face was kinda like a trademark. Quite exciting as it comes from the village I live and grew up in 😁 give it a Google if you want. Anyway great video as always 🤩👍🏻
That's exactly what it is, also known as green glaze, but specifically Grimston ware 😊. I'm not a million miles from Grimston and find this type of pottery everywhere. It's a very cool little face 😊👍
Nice one Dan love the finds cabinets I’m an an electrician I’d. go for led lights you can get some nice flat ones with battery save all those cables looking forward to the next hope to get out soon with the manticore as have been busy with funeral of younger sister so these videos have been helping me all the best shaune in Kent 👍
Well done mate , awsome display you have there! You’re very lucky with hammerds , on my permissions I’ve only found 3 in 2 years ! They don’t seem too common in the south west . Keep it up mate
Great watching you out with your `manticore, I am also having great results with mine. I think your hammy at 27:32 is a Sterling imitation, as can read MON/ETA on two of the reverse quarters👍
Enjoying your pure metal detecting vids Dan. A lack of gimmicks works for me. The big half hoop, Bulls nose ring?. The lesser of the two hammered could have been in close proximity to a copper coin perhaps?
More finds to add to your wonderful cabinet. The greenish hammered might not be a forgery, high copper sterling might do that. Of course perhaps a dodgy official moneyer or silver supplier. No accurate assaying in those days!
Thank you mate, that has been suggested a few times. I believe it is more likely medieval, just from the amount of medieval artifacts in that spot. Thank you so much for the info 😊👍
Try ground balance also, you will be able to run higher sensitivity....I used to use 0...but all fields vary I've found 12 to 34...in my part of Kent...
Hi Dan, great video as always 😀 Far right, front of the third cabinet: I don't know if you have identified that piece but to me it looks very much like a Jew's Harp minus it's tongue 😎
I think the large curved piece you found is have a bulls nose ring Dan. Also I think the little possible eddy penny isn’t a contemporary forgery I think it’s just lacking in purity either down to a shortage of silver or just some contamination, I spoke with my local flo a couple years ago about the same contamination of green and brown staining I had on my Henry Viii groat and she said it happened at points throughout the medieval period but was most common in Henry Viii time so I do believe yours is a genuine coin
25.21 a quern fragment and most likely Medieval. There are also Continental copies of Edward pennies and some had very mixed amounts of silver in them and the legends on them can be fairly meaningless but some are from known town and city mints
I love your collection. It's amazing. I was wondering, are you doing some research before choosing a location, are you studying any historical maps, or reading lots of local history? Or it's mostly random fields? I'm just a beginner trying to get some tips here and there. Thank you, and wish you good signals ahead.
@BowwowR I get the permission first and then do some research on it. You can use side by side maps, check on lidar and also the doomsday book for the history of the area. Quite often the farmer will know some of its history too, so worth asking 😊👍
@digadyke I still have it as a backup spade mate, but I got the Evolution spade because of the narrow head when I was on some pasture and now I just love using it 👌. I'll get the Motley back out for a dig soon 😉
Hi Dan .. that guilted item you couldn’t identify … it wouldn’t be a Pictish treasure could it … to me it looks like it could be … what’s your thoughts on this ?? Time stamp 24.17
All these settings is very complicated for me because I'm disleck sick with maths and English, would like to get a mantercor how much would it cost for a full kit
Generally, I don't clean the as such mate. I usually just use a soft brush and some warm water. The foil and spit method can be a bit harsh and scratch the coins, as it is metal on metal. Failing that, you can purchase a silver coin cleaning solution from www.cleaningpencil.com/
@DiggerDanMetalDetecting I've only been going a year and mines coming along nicely. I'd help to have dream fields like yours lol. All the best, keep the vids coming 😌
Hi Dan, my name is Filipe. I live in Ipswich. I was wondering if I can go metal detector with you. I’ve been doing for the last three years but I didn’t go much luck. Maybe we can go together detecting thank you.

Thanks for my weekly fix 🤩🤩 Amazing display mate, 👏👏 Loads of graft gone in to some amazing finds 🤩You legend.
Thanks Jamie 😊. Yes, there is a lot of time there in those cabinets lol. Makes me wonder how many holes I've dug since I started 🤔 😅
Another great video Dan, loved seeing all those finds. I bet theres some hours spent there 🤣
I dread to think how many hours I've spent detecting lol 😆. But I've loved every second of it 👌. Definitely some hard graft there in those cabinets 🌟🙌

amazing finds! i got my first silver with my manticore last weekend. seeing ur medieval and roman finds makes me want to metal detect in europe!
Excellent work
Thanks for another awesome video ❤
Enjoyed the video, especially at the end when you showed us your collection. You're going to need to get a new case soon.
What an awesome video this week mate. Some awesome finds plus really loved the tour of the display cabinets 👌👍❤️

Some beautiful finds there Dan display case great yes you need some lighting but overall you have plenty to do on days you’re not out
It's a late Saxon/Norman buckle Dan, missing the strap end...11/12 century...a nice find... Cheers Steve
Are we talking about the small half round item that I was guessing about being a buckle mate? If so, that's brilliant. Really pleased with that 👍
Great finds as always! Could the Fleur -di-lis be the top part of a decorative hair comb? Loved seeing your collection, thanks for the tour 🙂
Can i just say some beautiful finds 👌
Thanks
Thank you mate, that is hugely appreciated 😊👍
Thanks for the video and sharing your collection.

The stone with grooves could be a broken Roman quern stone, used for grinding grain etc. regards Steve.

@darkcommission yes it is a Jews Harp mate, the only one I've ever found 😊👍
I think the lovely piece with the Fleur-di-lis was a hair comb. What were those red berries on the tree? LED lights are the best.
@lindaahlgrim1331 thank you, I hadn't thought about it being a comb 👍😊. Those were actually flowers, not sure which type though.
Hi Dan cheers for the upload, do you just use the stock charging cable from the nox power bank to the controller? Thanks mate
@scottscottydog yes, I bought a second charging cable so I have one at home too. Just incase that one gets damaged while I'm out 😊😉
Not jealous of the manticore at all! Best wishes and happy hunting out there.

Great finds cabinet Dan so much history I haven’t found enough yet to fill a small cabinet only been doing it 4 years how long you been detecting?
Thank you 😊. I have just passed 4 years detecting. I found my first ever find with the simplex plus, on the 27th August 2020 😊👍
25.21 a quern fragment and most likely Medieval. There are also Continental copies of Edward pennies and some had very mixed amounts of silver in them and the legends on them can be fairly meaningless but some are from known town and city mints

Can I ask why you don't use the motley spade anymore? Did you only have it for a product review? What spade is your favourite?

Looks like at 24.44 it has similar ends to the buckle at 31.50, what's your thinking🤔
Buy yourself a pair of Hanwag boots failing that a pair of Aku! Pricey but they last!
@jamescross-hq6sb thank you for that mate, I'll take a look. My Meindl boots are Gore tex lined, so shouldn't really be leaking.
