I am playing the highest rated Baseball game of all time MVP Baseball 2005. It has a deep dynasty mode where you can play up to 120 years! They also have nice customization with a stadium editor in owner mode. I draft an entire team in a fantasy draft.

As someone with hundreds of hours into the game, you need to hold down the pitch button. It's the same type of setup that The Show used as the default for years. You've just been throwing low effort meatballs lol.
Does he ever figure it out. It's painful
@@hardhatlunchpal Considering he hearted the comment he saw it
@@hardhatlunchpal the fact that he though the "games remaining" was chemistry remaining leaves me no hope he figured it out haha
and now im back a couple minutes later to see he figured out the games remaining haha
What a cool thing to boast about
This has to be a series
You’re so early I haven’t even posted yet
I agree
bro is hacking
100% please
super auto turtle
Hold the pitch button for more oomph on your pitches, so yes, you were throwing them gifts.
The funny thing: I 💭 thought that would be obvious, but now thinking of it, he probably bought the game at a pawn shop or GameStop so, it probably doesn't have a manual... Great tip...😅😊
@@wesleypierre8227but there’s still a screen with all the controls that he refuses to ever check in any game he plays. I assume it’s on purpose
i thought the whole point was to press in the green spot, do you actually hold at the beginning of the windup and then release the button in that green section? I've tried emulating this game and pretty much had the same experience as Drew here lol
@@dropthatshi yeah you hold it until it hits the bottom then let go, then hit it again when it hits the green. Holding it gives more power, the green part is for accuracy. So he was throwing accurate pitches but they were 88mph meatballs to MLB players so they were crushing him lol
@@redskinsDC2594 I forget about the controller button function screen, that actually explains in fine detail every button that one will ever use. Not only that but I'm sure there is a tutorial somewhere in there... Lol. Maybe he thought 💭 he would be cracking the bats off with yard bombs, but eh, he probably gave up on this game already
I forget which button it was, but if you press a button on the replay of a close play, you can get the manager to come out and argue with the umpire. It even has a little mini game to determine how angry the manager gets.
Also, in the main menu, you should try the batting mini game. It’s basically a batting game on an obstacle course which is so much fun.
Seriously this was one of the best sports games ever.
For Xbox it’s Y, and you keep tapping it to make the aggression meter go up. So I’d imagine PS2 it’d be triangle. But you can do it for any play, not just replays. Even ones where the dude is clearly out 😂
B on the gamecube
The Show needs to add this. It'll be fun to knock out Angel Hernandez.
Never knew which button it was (playing on PC)
Always see the cpu doing that and wondered if i could do the same
If you press it a few times more, you will be kicked out.
Throwing 75% speed with 100% accuracy is basically being the best batting practice pitcher ever.
lol literally read this at the same time he gave up a homer and said "grand slam?? I'm not throwing them, like, gifts or anything!" @ 8:25
This is ABSOLUTELY the best sports game ever made. I think we would all love to see a series for the nostalgic memories!
Hey Drew I’m a dev for a mod of MVP 07 NCAA Baseball that’s in full HD with roster updates new bats and more you should check it out and bring back the cluckers!
How would one go about playing the mod? I'm kinda interested in playing this now but I've got no idea how I would go about it.
give more info please
@@josephewing6385Probably through emulation on PCSX2, a PS2 emulator.
Oh I need this mod!
we all need this info asap!
dude, my best advice is to, master the pitching, there is no better feeling than pitching a no hitter against a team of Legends. it's all timing, holding the left thumb stick location indicator in the batter's cold zone, while holding the pitch button until the effectiveness zone is reached, then releasing at the same time. Mastering this technique will lead to many hours of enjoyment and the only hits you give up will be from big timing mistakes. The abilities of the pitchers also have a big effect on this, pitchers with low control numbers will make the meter run faster, making it more difficult to throw effective pitches resulting in more balls or meatballs which usually end up in the seats.
Sound track was perfect on mvp 04 and 05
FACTS
The best
ngl when im bored i still listen to mlb 05 playlist sound track - and im still shocked there is no bad songs like nhl or other games where they would put 1 good songs and thats all
TESSIE!!!
Legit the best baseball game ever made. My friend and I still play it every time we hangout to this day and we got it the year it came out. We're both 30 and we still call each other about our MVP Baseball saves.
I basically retired from gaming after the PS3 generation (as a disabled guy, the increased detail with controllers was a real turnoff, plus I'm the epitome of Casual Gamer) and this is one of the games I frequently come back to.
@@JBarg25That sucks, at least you can still enjoy some games. I need to play more of these old sports games. They are almost always great.
@@FTLnovaKid Oh yeah, I have plenty of PS1/2/3 games. More than enough to scratch the itch without hopping online and doing the Old Man bit.
@@JBarg25mlb the show 22 has retro mose where you only have to press 1 button
That’s awesome. Makes me wanna get with my brother and play this someday. We both played the hell out of this one.
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE GAME GROWING UP! Also...if you hold down the pitch button and fill up the arch, your pitch will move more. You can also get your manager up into blue's face by holding 'B' after a play - Something else, it has a banging playlist - still listen to a bunch of these songs to this day because of the is game
THREE YEARS ALMOST TO THE DAY I asked you at Skybar to put this game on the channel and you said you couldn't get the stream to work, but you wanted to make it happen. I've waited three years for this day
Happy for you :)
This is the NCAA 14 of baseball video games. Incredibly immersive and well-designed. I could watch a whole series of this and more!
120 years would be 19'440 games. I DARE you. Because we WILL watch them all!
Play the mini games. They genuinely help you improve. Especially the pitching mini game
Back in 2015 me and two other buddies played this game every day for almost the whole entire year. It's crazy how much the three of us needed to grind to unlock all the stadium features in Owner Mode but it was so worth it
Crazy you ended up with Jeriome Robertson. I ended up with one of his game used jerseys in a memorbilia lot. Found out he died in a motorcycle accident and he left behind 2 sons. Found their high school coach and got the jersey to them. Get him a ring!
This game used to be pretty unfair. Unless you had a stacked team with everyone super happy you could only lose, no matter the difficulty. Please keep playing this game! lol
PLEASE DEAR LORD MAKE THIS A SERIES!
Choose a team and do dynasty!!!!!!
"I'm not throwing them gifts or anything" - 8:38
Drewski, brother, idk how to tell you this, but you kinda are.
You see that meter that shows up when you start pitching? Typically you'd figure out that it needs to fill up first. iirc, the cpu hits more when you don't.
(Edit: I'm surprised you got as many strikeouts as you did, but you did have some solid placement. Also Rookie AI)
Even if it's fun to figure things out naturally (i know, I usually do that too), it may be worth investing in looking at controls and searching for the in-game tutorials and practice a little if you're getting cooked on the easiest difficulty.
Watching this is what I imagine my dad would be like trying to play this first time (he didn't really like video games much, and never tried. He still struggles with the Smart TV sometimes, so understandable i guess) 😂
I've got a hitting trick for you, the ball will flash different colors to indicate which pitch (breaking-ball is red, change-ups green, sinkers/splitters purple, fastball/cutter no color) and sometimes you can see the color of the pitch in the pitcher's motion before they release, like they're tipping their pitches.
MVP 05, the greatest baseball game ever made, please make this a series Drew!
Yo, it's Rickie Weeks! He's the associate manager for the Brewers now
Didn't he change his name to Booty Cheeks
Watching him pitch was so hard to watch 🫣
Jon Dowd is the Pablo Sanchez of MVP 2005
this is the best baseball game of all time. this absolutely needs to be a series.
So many all nighters in college playing this game. Great memories & damn I feel old.
Seeing Jeter in the other New York uniform seems sacrilegious
Still have my ps2 and MVP baseball! Lots of good memories with my dad! Now 25 years old i still play it with him from time to time!
There was a baseball game called MLB Heat i think. There was a feature where you cam lock on where the pitch woukd be and hit a home run easy. I used to crush homers with Big Mo when he was on the Angels 😂
As a Day 1 Nationals fan, MVP '05 will always hold a special place in my heart as the first game to allow me to play as my hometown team...as an overall baseball fan, I love MVP '05 for its accurate throwbacks (no numbers before 1930 - including late '20s Braves unis with Injun back, late '20s Detroit unis with a tiger on the back...no batting helmets before 1955...throwbacks being an option for the franchise rather than the city).
I got this and MLB 2k5 for my original Xbox and both are such bangers. Awesome to see you playing bro
“Everyone I throw a perfect pitch in the zone they’re hitting it” lololol comedy for folks who knew what was going on.
Go check out MVP 2003, the first game in the franchise. It's the last game that has Barry Bonds as a playable character out of the box. The later games featured his attributes, but the developers changed his name.
so many stadium and roster packs you can download as well as they ability to change the bg music to your own play list such a great game
19:52 😂😂 bro I laughed out loud. Remaining is referring to the games left in the season, which were listed below. Great game, love the vids, man.
I love that intro to that game too. Found this game at a yard sale and it was the best game i had ever played!
One of the best used to love this on the gamecube back in the day
Joystick affects the direction of the hits. Up and more chance of dingers left and right to go with inside/outside pitches and down for grounders... One of my favorite games of all time and the soundtrack is awesome, olevery time the title screen comes on, goosebumps
My favorite baseball game of all time
Nfl 2k5 was my favorite football game, please keep playing these bangers
I have a brewers dynasty that has gone 47 years and ive had it for 3 irl years. Ive won 28 World Series lmao
Use the left analog stick for bat launch angle as well
MVP 2005 is definitely one of the best baseball games ever created
Ncaa baseball had the manage sim style too where you spam whatever buttons you want. Fun to see it so quickly done lol
Dude the dynasty mode with the farm system and mini games, the soundtrack, everything about this game was amazing. My knowledge of MLB rosters still goes back to this game😂
my extire childhood best mlb game ever made thanks you for playing this and bringing back memories home run derby mini game is the best part of the game
I've spent a TON of time in this game. I always created players and added some to my team and let the CPU pick up others (I'd create myself, my brother, cousins, people I knew). Playing the mini games will help immensely. The distance thing you were looking at with Papi and Pujols was in the home run derby. That was the total HR distance needed to win.
Give it another shot and you'll get the hang of it.
Also, shout out to NCAA MVP06 Baseball. Another fun and fantastic game!
We need a dynasty mode series man!!!! WE ARE BEGGING FOR IT!!!!!!
One of my favorite games of all time. More, please.
Loved playing this back in the day 🎉🎉
Greatest sports game soundtrack. Hope you get a chance to listen to it.
Please please play this for the next 70 years
I remember this game having great animations, and they definitely hold up 20 years later.
Great pick NTE, this game was nostalgia. Played so much had to get 2nd PS2 to replace the one I burned out lol.
This is amazing and would be amazing as a series
I was playing this game last week. The drafts can be fairly random but one time I was able to get Barry Bonds (Jon Dowd), Sammy Sosa, Griffey, A rod, Jose Reyes, Chone figgins, Piazza (I played him at first base), Mike Matheny. My pitching staff wasn't great but they were young and decent. My ace was a 22 year old Zack Greinke, and Robb Nenn my closer. I can't remember the rest of my pitchers besides Esteban Loaiza, and Aaron Harang.
I could be wrong, but MVP 05 was the first in depth baseball game that also included the individual HR swings on some players like Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz and Jim Edmonds. There are more, I just can't remember them.
These older games are great, The Show 2011 had a lot of these features, it takes a lot of time, but I remember having a lot of fun.
i need a full blown series with this!!!
Definitely need a series, kinda like the college game
One of my favorites for sure!
You need to be sponsored by dennys with all those grand slams you gave out😂 love the video need more
Oh boy, you’re in for an absolute blast
Loved this game but an earlier year version. This still brought back a lot of memories!
The owner mode in this game is hands down the the best franchise mode in any sports game ever. It's so ridiculously in depth and you have to constantly tinker with everything to keep your team afloat. I constantly made the mistake of setting the ticket prices too high early in the season and being broke by August of the first year.
This brought back so many memories I wanna go back to this time
My bros and I grinded this game growing up. Gameplay was unreal and I loved the skill logos next to the guys names. LGM
I never thought I’d be able to root for Paul Konerko again! Thank you Drewski!
I LOVE THIS GAME YOU MUST MAKE IT A SERIES
Absolutely loved this game played the hell out of it! Great choice!!!
this is gonna be fun, NTE new upload yessir
Love your stuff man
Bro I’m so hype for ur new series on NCAA 25
This game brings back all the great memories I was 10 years old when this came out grinding out dynasty modes on Pro lol, yeah you have to have your pitches just outside the zone the CPU was wild!
I loved this game as a kid, I heard it was amazing around 2010 and decided to get it and it became my baseball game of choice for years.
One of the best Baseball games ever created. There are also quite a few real players in the minors with fake names like Joey Votto, Prince Fielder, Justin Verlander, etc.
It was a phenomenal game it makes me so nostalgic to see you talking about it because it truly was a great game. I see the graphics I don't even have a PlayStation five and I have a PlayStation 4 and I'm playing the new MLB The Show 24 and when I look at the graphics on this it's like oh my God.
This game looks awesome! The first game was the computer doing to you what you did to that other baseball game woth the cards 😆
I invested so much time into this game and Shut your mouth and here comes the pain back in the day lol mainly this though. I loved the charge the mound feature. 😂
I know you gave your disclaimer, but I still love seeing all these guys who ended up being perennial all stars that you're just glancing over without a mention lol. Im just a baseball nerd though. Love your videos man
The way you’re pitching is like putting in a little leagues with perfect accuracy lol. You need to hold the button down to gain power before releasing it and pushing it again for accuracy. MVP ‘05 was an amazing game
It's not all about the money, Schpida man...
IT'S A BOUT THE METS BABY, LOVE THE METS. ALRIGHT BABY LET'S GO, GET A HOME RUN BABY
LOVE THE METS
LET'S GO METS
The soundtrack to this was AMAZING
I remember the PSP version which had TONS of legendary players such as Babe Ruth, Yogi Berra, Honus Wagner, Robin Yount, and Satchel Paige.
I had so many good memories with this game
The GREATEST baseball game ever. I don’t wanna hear anything about The Show . MVP Baseball I probably have the most amount of hours played out of ANY game I’ve ever played. And I’m 28 and started gaming when I was 3 lol. Imo it’s the greatest sports game of all time.
I love this game. Being able to play full seasons with all 4 levels of teams. I hate that we can't play as A teams in The Show. Now I'm wondering if there are current rosters for PS2 uploaded online.
No Diddy 18:51 😂
always fun to see baby David Wright
So many amazing memories on this game.
I love thi channel all of the vids are funny and fun to watch
I just opened the game up over the weekend, and created (painstakingly) a baseball movie roster from Major League, Little Big League, Angels in the Outfield and Rookie of the Year
The hitting mini games are fun you should play through those
EA in 05 was cracked.
Video brought back a ton of nostalgia. Game literally taught me to slide.
i have so many hours in 2005 logged in this game. i remember first buying it. miss them days.
As a KC born and raised native and Royals fan. I'm (partially) sorry the Royals finally won the world series over your Mets. My dad (who LOVED baseball as a sport) got to go to one of the home games before the Royal went on the road. He was battling cancer and it a joy to see him watch a Royals championship win before he passed in April 2017.
Side note: That manager should have never let Harvey go into the 9th
The sound effects when you click and scroll in this game are S-tier
the mow pattern is the coolest feature, utilize it plz w/ some dope designs lol
I used to play this game every day as a kid!!! My uncle is in the game!!!!
This game was the first simulation style baseball game I played. Spent hours playing this game. I would look up the unlock codes for all the legends & then do a fantasy draft.
