A response to Harshman Hills video asking what people use to clean fatwood resin from their blades. HHere’s a link to his video. • Q&A: How to clean res...
Man that's some great looking fatwood. I usually use denatured alcohol to clean it off. Never thought of the wd40. I will have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
Good comparison. I rub the hand sanitizer with a paper as soon as I put on the blade. Oh yeah, beautiful grain on the fatwood. Keep the fatwood burning.
Hello, Mr.Capps; Yeap, WD40 works great to remove tar. It works to take it off the car's paint, too. Hey, where do you get your fatwood? I need pound or 2 but it's awful high priced around here (south Georgia). I don't think it should be so expensive but everybody seems to think it's worth $2-$3 a lb. My 1 acre doesn't seem to have any & the family farm was logged a few years back. I'm thinking of checking out a neighboring tract that was just logged this year. I might find so old stumps or downed trees. Just have find the owner & ask if I can look for fatwood. Hopefully I can do that when this cold spell ends. Have a GREAT day, Neighbor!
I always use 91% rubbing alcohol on my folding saw and knife blades to clean off fatwood resin. Same stuff I use when I clean our pistols after some fun at the range. I may have to give WD40 a try sometime though.

I carry the same saw in the truck, great saw at a good price!
Cool damn video
Great tip brother! I’m gonna use WD 40 on mine instead 🙂👍👍🔥
Concentrated Simple Green works great in 15 minutes.
Nail polish remover works great.
Me too, I use WD-40. You're probably the one that told me about it years ago. You going to keep the beard through the long hot Summer?
I’m not sure about the beard. Guess I’ll see how it goes with the summer.

I use denatured alcohol, but hand sanitizer will work during any pandemic!!!!
Coleman fuel or lighter fluid does a great job.
I just use some rubbing alcohol and a wire brush
Hand sanitizer works on the Corona! Haha sorry bad joke. Good video though man
Pre Mix gasoline.
That’ll do it.
